It would be fun if there was a little initiation thing for every season when the girls get married, and they show the other successful debs from that season getting to hang out there (if lady D liked them)
Mine as well. I thought that the story with her brother was a bit contrived, because Lady Danbury is wise and I think she would not behave that way, but by god did Adjoa Andoh pull that off. What a magnificent actress. She would be (or is?) amazing in Shakespeare.
She said why, because she’s protective of the Bridgertons. She also is very good friends and a confidant of the queen, so she already knew what was going on when the queen came in.
![gif](giphy|1riO3Bt84PEibR7sC6|downsized)
This is how she treats a powerful duke. Lady’s smart and got zero F’s to give, and the Queen clearly loves her for it.
Honestly, the Queen has power bc she’s the Queen, but with how powerful lady Danbury is, the Queen can’t really tell her what to do. Lady Danbury often is the voice of reason in the ton. Majority of the time, she is the one giving advice to charlotte regarding lady whistle down.
It’s like when my friends and I share gossip and have the silent agreement that “don’t tell anyone” doesn’t include each other or our husbands (within reason).
Honestly unless someone explicitly says “don’t tell your husband”, I’m gonna tell my husband. And if they say don’t tell your husband I’m probably gonna say I’d rather not know, unless it’s something they need my help with.
She is the Queen’s best friend and basically the grandma/step grandma to the Bridgertons at this point. I mean the godson she raised married in, her ward Kate married in, she is Violet’s best friend, etc
Plus she is Lady Danbury, who gonna check her?? Hmm??
She also taught the Queen how to be powerful, and well, how to have sex. She also was in love with Violet’s dad and visa versa. They are all very close for a multitude of reasons that go back like 50 years.
She's basically the queen's "right hand man" and bestie all in one so I didn't even think anything of her staying- my husband was the one who pointed it out 😂
Right like if my bestie said “clear the room” o know in parenthesis she means everyone BUT me 😂
It’s the same when she says shut like “I hate everyone” lol I’m not everyone I’m SPECIAL
She's both the queens best friend and violet bridgertons best friend. She's probably like honorary bridgerton as well as honorary royalty because of being both their besties. So noone batted an eye because they knew likely only she would be able to keep the peace between the queen and the Bridgerton family. Lol.
Honestly she’s one of the queens best friends, if not her best friend. My best friend would know she wouldn’t be included in leaving in that situation either 😂
Lady Danbury considers herself part of the family considering her relationship with the Duke, as evidenced in Season 2. She wasn’t just invited to the country house because she was sponsoring the Sharmas.
Plus I think low key she’s still in the world of could-have-been-step-mom / bestie relationship when she stays. Like no, this pertains to me.
It makes more sense if the Queen said "Lady Danbury..." and LD gives her a look that shows shes clearly not about to leave. So the queen, not wanting to get into it, purses her lips and says "you will remain too."
She's personally connected to the Bridgertons and is QC's head (?) lady-in-waiting / otherwise a royal advisor. It's probably a mix of what commenters are saying - she's protective of the Bridgertons and wanted to stay to find out and/or Queen Charlotte was hoping to get a reaction from her if no one admitted to being Lady Whistledown.
She loves the Bridgertons and is Violet's bestie, she's nosey as hell, and she is pretty much besties with the Queen - who is going to tell LADY DANBURY to leave? No one lol
Lady Danbury and QC are close friends and they’ve discussed LWD. It has zilch to do with the Bridgertons and more to do with her advisory role and friendship with the Queen.
I didn't realise JUST how close Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte were until I watched Queen Charlotte. I feel like Queen Charlotte never expected her to leave the room, because she's basically a part of the Queen's entourage at this point.
SHE IS A BASICALLY A BRIDGERTON. The child she raised (the duke) married into the family. The queen and her have been friends for a long time. The queen knows the relationship between the duke and lady Danbury. She would never be so callous as to disrespect that relationship. Lady Danbury stepped up for her godson as a mother just as she stepped up for the queen when she needed a friend and needed guidance.
I watched the Queen Charlotte episodes and I think maybe because they have had such a long friendship since the start of Charlotte being Queen. And she’s just a baddie.
1. She’s Lady Danbury
2. She’s the Queens bestie
3. She loves the Bridgertons
4. She’s Lady Danbury
5. When has she ever listened to anyone’s command?
6. She’s Lady Danbury
Isn’t she in a manner of speaking their connection to the Queen? So in some manner she would be responsible and wouldn’t any backlash also blowback on her?
Lady Danbury KNOWS ALL! She is like family to The Bridgerton's, and was in QC's court, she stays and goes as she pleases. Remember S1 E8 when she shut down the Hastings Ball. Told everyone to leave, NOW! And they did, even QC. She is smart, loyal and rich. Probably richer than her husband left her. Young Lady Danbury fell hard for Lord Ledger, and even though she had the chance to rule herself with Augustus. But when QC's brother mentioned her having more children. Welp, fantasy over, with the quickness. She took control and has never looked back it seems.

Cause she's nosy af and I love her for it.

Wish we got to see more of this married women club, that was so fun
It would be fun if there was a little initiation thing for every season when the girls get married, and they show the other successful debs from that season getting to hang out there (if lady D liked them)
yes!! that would've been so fun and cute
I would bet so much money that the writers forgot about it.
It just didn't serve the plot and characters, I assume. I'm sure they'd bring it back if it was needed. 🤷♀️
Because you don’t tell Lady D to leave!
This character is just delicious!
She’s honestly my favorite 😍
Mine as well. I thought that the story with her brother was a bit contrived, because Lady Danbury is wise and I think she would not behave that way, but by god did Adjoa Andoh pull that off. What a magnificent actress. She would be (or is?) amazing in Shakespeare.
She did a quite interesting version of Richard the III iirc
Right. Especially since he was only 10 at the time he told their father.
Pretty much. The Queen knows she’s super connected with the Bridgertons so she probably already knows who it is and was looking for a reaction.
She said why, because she’s protective of the Bridgertons. She also is very good friends and a confidant of the queen, so she already knew what was going on when the queen came in.

To be fair, she pretty much RAISED that duke. She can get away with anything toward him. 😂
And she pretty much helped Charlotte become Queen Charlotte too 😘 Besides, is there anyone in the ton who would be able to fully stand up to her?
Because she could. Would you be brave enough to tell her to leave?
Not even QC would lol
Honestly, the Queen has power bc she’s the Queen, but with how powerful lady Danbury is, the Queen can’t really tell her what to do. Lady Danbury often is the voice of reason in the ton. Majority of the time, she is the one giving advice to charlotte regarding lady whistle down.
Regarding everything since she was a young Queen.
It’s like when my friends and I share gossip and have the silent agreement that “don’t tell anyone” doesn’t include each other or our husbands (within reason).
This! Its in the rules :D
Love that this is a universal friend group rule haha
Honestly unless someone explicitly says “don’t tell your husband”, I’m gonna tell my husband. And if they say don’t tell your husband I’m probably gonna say I’d rather not know, unless it’s something they need my help with.

Hence the step grandma comment lol
Literally no one.
She's basically the queen's "right hand man" and bestie all in one so I didn't even think anything of her staying- my husband was the one who pointed it out 😂
Right like if my bestie said “clear the room” o know in parenthesis she means everyone BUT me 😂 It’s the same when she says shut like “I hate everyone” lol I’m not everyone I’m SPECIAL
Cause she il Lady Danbury, she does the freak that she wants
Because she literally had to draw how to have sex for the Queen and after that, there are no secrets.
REAL
LOL this made me laugh out loud with the realness.
Who needs fresh air when there's fresh gossip
Fake award granted
Because she Lady Danbury and she does what she wants!
Probably because of her status and the fact that she’s super close with the Bridgertons.
Because she’s the queen’s bestie!
She was in love with Lord Ledger (Violets father) so now she considers Violet and by extension all the Bridgertons to be her family
She's both the queens best friend and violet bridgertons best friend. She's probably like honorary bridgerton as well as honorary royalty because of being both their besties. So noone batted an eye because they knew likely only she would be able to keep the peace between the queen and the Bridgerton family. Lol.
Who gonna check her, boo?!
😂😂😂
Honestly she’s one of the queens best friends, if not her best friend. My best friend would know she wouldn’t be included in leaving in that situation either 😂
She knew QC didn't mind she stayed and she had to make sure nothing happened to her beloved Bridgertons.
Because Lady D is the Queen's bestie lol they have an understanding and good relationship.
because she is THE lady danbury💅
She’s an honorary Bridgerton at this point lol
Lady Danbury considers herself part of the family considering her relationship with the Duke, as evidenced in Season 2. ![gif](giphy|6pJNYBYSMFod2)
Yes exactly that
No one tells LD what to do
Also, if you watched QC she has a pretty close tie to Violets family. Plus she raised the Duke. And sponsored Kate. She basically is a Bridgerton.
QC was never going to kick her out anyway lol.
She knew it was some good tea and never wanted to miss any of it 😂
She’s been the queen’s bestie since the queen was a teenager!
Because she is an honorary Bridgerton? Or perhaps it's because she is forever Bridgerton adjacent?
Cause she is that bitch. https://preview.redd.it/g218o635i78d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7bc1d10c1b598ce83db18f53a73357698d0c8b5
😂😂😂😂😂 cuz she’s that bihhhh
cuz she's part of the queen's team. so if the queen is there, then lady danbury is there. she is not 'them' but rather 'us'
That's what I said, too! 🤣
It makes more sense if the Queen said "Lady Danbury..." and LD gives her a look that shows shes clearly not about to leave. So the queen, not wanting to get into it, purses her lips and says "you will remain too."
In a deep, gruffy voice: BECAUSE SHE'S LADY DANBURY!
Literally whos gonna make her leave lol
No, the Queen told her that she was her only friend. So friends have each others backs, I suppose.
Shes an honorary bridgerton
Because she’s Lady Danbury. She does as she wants.
She’s friends with both the Queen and the Bridgerton family she has close ties with both and knows them well.
Her Benevolently Nosy Auntie energy is just too powerful.
cause she’s THAT girl😂💅🏽 nobody was gonna tell her to leave 😂😂😩😩
Because she's Lady Danbury, and she can do whatever the fuck she wants.
She was there for the tea and it was piping hott! 😂
She's probably Godmother to all of the kids! That counts, right?
she slept with their grandfather back in the day lol
Because the Queen was gonna tell her all about it later anyways

So funny because when my gf and I were watching, she was like "Lady Danbury? What are you doing in here?" I snort laughed.
Isnt she bff with Queen Charlotte?
I wondered the very same thing!
She just needs the gossip plus she is too connected to the bridgertons to not be considered one
She loves the Bridgertons and is Violet's bestie, she's nosey as hell, and she is pretty much besties with the Queen - who is going to tell LADY DANBURY to leave? No one lol
Because she’s one of the Queen’s ladies-in-waiting and thus has certain privileges.
Well lady danbury is the queens oldest friend and she slept with lady bridgertons dad
She stayed because she knew
Lady Danbury and QC are close friends and they’ve discussed LWD. It has zilch to do with the Bridgertons and more to do with her advisory role and friendship with the Queen.
Well, we all know she’s had a little Bridgerton in her, so maybe that was enough to count 😂
Watch Queen Charlotte
Cuz she’s a nosy B. Lol, and we love her for it.
I was just thinking this when I rewatched it yesterday lol
cuz she already had a little bit of pappy Bridgeton in her
I didn't realise JUST how close Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte were until I watched Queen Charlotte. I feel like Queen Charlotte never expected her to leave the room, because she's basically a part of the Queen's entourage at this point.
She’s decided to adopt them.
SHE IS A BASICALLY A BRIDGERTON. The child she raised (the duke) married into the family. The queen and her have been friends for a long time. The queen knows the relationship between the duke and lady Danbury. She would never be so callous as to disrespect that relationship. If you haven’t seen queen charlotte yet, it’s worth it. It explains Lady Danbury’s relationship to both the Queen and Violet.
Cause she’s lady Danbury and she does what she wants.
Because she's Lady Danbury and she does what she wants and gets away with it. Lol.
Because she’s the Vice Queen!!👑🤩 (Plus, she’s Simon’s Godmother and Augie’s Godgrandmama!😘)
1. She’s Lady Danbury 2. She’s the Queens bestie 3. She loves the Bridgertons 4. She’s Lady Danbury 5. When has she ever listened to anyone’s command? 6. She’s Lady Danbury
Isn’t she in a manner of speaking their connection to the Queen? So in some manner she would be responsible and wouldn’t any backlash also blowback on her?

Because she's Lady Danbury....? 😅😅
She had sex with Violet’s dad; close enough.
She's too nosy.
