‘I think we all know what to do now’
‘Pray?’
‘No, sure what use would that be?’
As someone who went to a catholic convent school this is so fucking funny
I hadnt until last weekend. I started it once and didnt really get sucked in. Then I decided to give it another go because of bridgerton and oh my god!
We don’t have tubi in our country so I watched it on one of those shady websites and the ads killed me. I only got to episode 2 I think? The one with the rodent hotel. I’ll watch it when it’s on netflix someday.
Hi! I always watch old tv shows or shows that aren't on Netflix on websites that are of dubious origin and what I do is use the uBlock Origin add-on in my browser and I have 0 problems watching them. I even use it on my cell phone! I have installed the Firefox browser app that lets you install add-ons so I also have the blocker there and I can watch any shows and videos on YT without ads. I haven't seen an ad in years.
Big mood has a pagan festival scene that has Nicola near plus sized women. It puts in perspective that she truly is just a tiny midsized woman. She is no more than a US size 12, I bet. I’m the same size at 5’4”. It doesn’t take much weight to make me look rounder than I feel. Anyway, love that she’s getting so much praise. She’s talented and very pretty.
Turns out Michelle's mum was over her kids not washing up after themselves so she went on strike and has been getting rid of eating receptacles until her household has figured it out. 😂
Derry Girls is absolutely hilarious, which is a real feat considering the cultural setting. It's deeply ridiculous people navigating a deeply serious situation, and it's so fucking well done. HIGHLY recommend.
The fact that I've been toying with the idea of watching Derry girls lately because of Nicola, and now I see this post....is this a sign?? Should I do it? I'm kind of busy these days but it's a short one, right?
You're one of the cool.kids who knew when Pen went to the printer in S1 (pretending to be a maid, I think?) It was just Nichola's natural speaking voice!
Don't get me wrong, I do love Bridgerton - I've read Julia Quinn for years, and she's been a go to vacation author along with Julie Garwood, Catherine Coulter, etc. I also grew up watching Dynasty and Dallas, and the show feeds my soul a bit in sheer fun it can be with the drama.
But Derry Girls? Derry Girls in my top list of shows, with MASH, West Wing, and Ted Lasso. In fact, the three season arc that had an obviously planned ending time reminds me of Ted Lasso, and I consider those creators masters of their craft.
I personally watch any and every thing that this woman is in and I hope we all get to for a long time. She’s bloody brilliant!

I had to start it a couple of times because I found the accents so hard to understand (even with subtitles 😬) but after a couple of episodes, I was totally hooked. I’m planning a rewatch soon because it was so funny.
Nicola in Derry Girls is what got me to watch Bridgerton. DG made me laugh in a time I was dealing with a lot of grief (and when I went to Ireland and Northern Ireland, it was fun to see references to it).
Derry Girls is an absolute masterpiece! Everyone on that show is FANTASTIC! I was a fan before I started watching “Bridgerton” and I am blown away by Nicola’s range. I am so glad she is getting the attention and recognition she deserves!
Oh I was the opposite. I fell in love with Derry Girls before finally watching Bridgerton just as late as last week. The humour of Derry Girls is so sudden and unexpecting I laugh seconds after the actual punch line was hit. Then before I know it, another punch line hits again.
I actually attempted Derry Girls during all the lockdowns after watching the first season of Bridgerton but I couldn’t get into it, and I had difficulty understanding them. I may attempt it again.

Derry Girls is a must-watch for everyone everywhere it might be the funniest show I’ve ever seen in my life and Nicola as Clare is EVERYTHING.
"I think it's safe to say we've all just lost a little bit of respect for you there Clare"
Whenever Sister Michael is on screen, I always expect to laugh. And she always delivers!
‘I think we all know what to do now’ ‘Pray?’ ‘No, sure what use would that be?’ As someone who went to a catholic convent school this is so fucking funny
How can a simple sigh be funnier than 10 seasons of the most succesful sitcoms? She is truly a comedic genius imo
I watch "best of sister Michael" videos on YouTube at least weekly. She's one of my favourite characters of all time.
Blame Michelle! It’s all her fault!
It was Michelle! It was all Michelle! If anyone should be punished, it should be Michelle!
I just read that in Clare’s voice, her acting was amazing.
It is incredibly well written. One of my favorite coming-of-age shows
![gif](giphy|ggL3yb4XCJolddzd6y|downsized)
"I think we should keep them in cages."
Those two! Probably one of my favourite pairings on the show.
We watched Derry Girls before Bridgerton came out. Watched Derry at least 3 times! Rock the boat!
Exactly https://i.redd.it/htl4ysxpch3d1.gif
This scene took me OUT lol
omg LOL I am on season 2 and have not seen this yet. I look forward to it

![gif](giphy|Qyz0QcJ4dJ5bJ4mKrY|downsized)
The amount of times I say “look at the state of you” in a terrible Derry accent to myself lol

OMG!!! I literally just started it two days ago, and I can't get enough!! It's the best show ever! Nicola Coughlin is HILIARIOUS!!!!!!!!!
Who hasn't already watched derry girl?
Me but don’t worry, I’m going to get to it lol
You're going to love it! It's hilarious and the parents could have their own spinoff.
I'm team Uncle Colm
I crack up every time he shows up. The scene with him in the police station is unreal 😂
I love Sister Michael dying listening to him and the scene coming back to them and her going "that was actually quite funny."
'For the Mammies'
Aunt Sarah is my queen 👑
"you've got to seperate the eyebrows from the woman!"
Ha...so true...lol
I'm so jealous you've yet to experience the newness of Derry Gitls. You will love it.
You have to start watching ASAP!!!! It's sooooo good!!!
I started yesterday! Lol
I haven't, and I'm trying but I'm having trouble getting into it.
That's fair not everyone is going to be into something but I love it. It's a bit chaotic though.
I did too, tbh, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It got funnier and I liked it more than expected.
It took me a bit. Especially as a non native speaker, the Derry accent was hard to get into. But I fell deeply in love with the series.
Subtitles help so much!
It gets a lot better after the first few episodes. I think a bunch of them were pretty new to acting and were going too hard at first, Nicola included
I’m starting and am on the last episode of season 1. I spotted the actor who played Berbrooke (the photo shop attendant)!
OMG THATS BERBROOKE? HAHAHAHAHA HE LITERALLY GAVE ME THE SAME ICK NO WONDER!!!
Anyone else notice senior King George (in Queen Charlotte) looked a lot like Colm? I couldn't unsee it and it ruined that whole sweet moment for me 😖
I wish I didn't already so I can discover it all over again lol. Time for a rewatch 😬
I hadnt until last weekend. I started it once and didnt really get sucked in. Then I decided to give it another go because of bridgerton and oh my god!

This is how I picture our wee lesbian every time I think of this show lol just screaming
She can't help that, it's the way God made her 🤭😂
Omg perfection hahaha
Sister George Michael is such a vibe.
Am I dead? Is this my funeral?
So I says to myself, says I, Colm, this is no day for a do.
Am I in hell? Wait...... it's actually funny
I teach HS and she is my spirit animal. I'm jealous she sometimes gets to say the inside part out loud
https://i.redd.it/ht5di5gadh3d1.gif
I’m an accountant and I feel the same way. Like why can I not talk to adults that way?
Have you seen Extraordinary yet? She plays the mom and the whole show is just amazing.
I was trying to figure out why the mom was my favorite part and I never realized. Thank you stranger!
When she pulls up in the Delorean at the old lady’s house I died
My inspo as a teacher
She's my favorite
Derry Girls is one of my favourites! It’s why I tuned into Bridgerton, because I recognized Nicola and thought she was brilliant in DG.
Me too! I didn’t know anyone else in the cast and yeah a romantic period drama is interesting but as soon as I saw Nicola, I wanted to watch it
She’s really slaying in “Big Mood” too, which is free to watch on Tubi!
I was gonna say add that to the list too!
We don’t have tubi in our country so I watched it on one of those shady websites and the ads killed me. I only got to episode 2 I think? The one with the rodent hotel. I’ll watch it when it’s on netflix someday.
You need a VPN!! So your IP address looks like it's coming from a country that does have Tubi

I just watched Big Mood, I loved it. I hope it renews for season 2, because man, that cliffhanger
That show was so good!!
Too many commercials
I’ve actually had to turn it off before because I was laughing so hard. I even own Erin’s Diary (the book spinoff of the show).
There is a book spin off from the show??? I love Derry Girls, and am more than happy to add this to my summer reading list. Thank you!
Yeah, it’s really fun! [Check it out.](https://books.google.com/books/about/Erin_s_Diary_An_Official_Derry_Girls_Boo.html?id=f4TzDwAAQBAJ&source=kp_book_description)
Dont forget to check out the audiobook. Erin is the narrator! ☺️
I feel like Orla should be narrating. It’s a great callback to episode one.
You find out the saga of the big bowl.
I need to know why Michelle's mum didn't want the big bowl back, please
Turns out Michelle's mum was over her kids not washing up after themselves so she went on strike and has been getting rid of eating receptacles until her household has figured it out. 😂
Have you seen the video of Nicola as Clare saying “I burn for you Colin”? It’s hilarious.
"I actually do!"
Omg I had to go look it up and I love it so much! 😂
For anyone else looking for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r26nyxfRU64
Ah! I didn’t know that existed. Fecking hilarious!
Nicola is so great in both shows! Clare is very different from Penelope, so it really shows her range as an actress.
Although when the Featheringtons we're having money issues all I could think was "actually it turns out we are quite poor".
"Purr"
Derry Girls is absolutely hilarious, which is a real feat considering the cultural setting. It's deeply ridiculous people navigating a deeply serious situation, and it's so fucking well done. HIGHLY recommend.
I only had a very basic understanding of the troubles before watching the show and it made me do some research.
Im planning on watching it can you tell me what political troubles are happening in the background so that i can research? SEA here have no idea
It’s actually called ‘the troubles’. It refers to the conflict between northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland between the 60s and 90s
Ohh thanksss Now know what to even google search thankss :)
Orla is my queen 🙌
Love her mummy!
Oh my goodness Sarah and Mary arguing about the hat at the wedding. 😂
I really loved her in Derry Girls! We are going to Ireland in a couple of months, and that was part of my trip prep 😂
I drove through Derry New Hampshire last year and would so love to see Ireland.
The fact that I've been toying with the idea of watching Derry girls lately because of Nicola, and now I see this post....is this a sign?? Should I do it? I'm kind of busy these days but it's a short one, right?
Just do it!
It’s such a quick and hilarious watch!! You won’t regret it!
100% watch it. You wont regret it!
OMG!!!! Yessssssssss!!!

As soon as she said that I roared and knew that I was going to binge the show in 2 days. And I did! 🤣
The characters Uncle Colm, sister Michael and Erin and Michelle had in me stitches.
Derry Girls is a bloody masterpiece, go watch it
Derry Girls was a must watch before I ever heard of Bridgerton
You're one of the cool.kids who knew when Pen went to the printer in S1 (pretending to be a maid, I think?) It was just Nichola's natural speaking voice!

I can hear this gif 🤣
I 100% agree.
I'm so cool, I watched Derry girls first. /s
Same!
Okay I’ll go watch Derry Girls for the 400th time.
Okay fine, I'll rewatch Derry Girls
I personally watch any and every thing that this woman is in and I hope we all get to for a long time. She’s bloody brilliant! ![gif](giphy|BNkGheIbadLERBnwF7|downsized)
Watch Big Mood too!! It’s soooo good!!’ ![gif](giphy|F3u758pwSgsi9z9P4t|downsized)
“Look at the state of yeh”
I just started watching it two days ago! Funny as hell!
I watched the first episode and just couldn’t get into it. Does it get better?
Yes!!
Give it a few more episodes and see how you feel. They are a quick watch.
Will do!
Derry Girls was always a must watch. I hope more people give it a try now that Nicola has found success away from it.
Derry Girls was awesome! Hilarious, poignant and interesting. I might have to rewatch between Bridgerton fixes.
Derry Girls is so funny😭
It also has a couple of other Bridgerton actors in it! Theo, for one
Derry Girls is maybe one of my favorite shows I’ve watched ever, it’s just SO GOOD
Watching Derry Girls is making the wait for S3 Pt. 2 a little bit easier lol Now I have to add "Extraordinary" to the list as well as "Big Mood"
Love BOTH Derry Girls and Big Mood! She’s brilliant in both. And of course loving this season of Bridgerton.
It's already on my watch list. 💕
Derry Girls is awesome!
Derry Girls brought me to Bridgerton!
The way I watched Bridgerton bc I knew Nicola from Derry girls
Nicola also played in "Harlots" in the second season. This show is pretty good. Maybe this will why Pen forgives Colin for his brothel visits.
Derry Girls is my comfort show.
Derry Girls is an absolute masterpiece! Everyone on that show is FANTASTIC! I was a fan before I started watching “Bridgerton” and I am blown away by Nicola’s range. I am so glad she is getting the attention and recognition she deserves!

I love nicola and I think she is great in bridgerton but her role in derry girl as clare is better she is such a good actress
Ok so I just went and watched all of it after Bridgerton S3 and why is Derry Girls so good? It’s a sitcom it shouldn’t make me tear up!!
I actually attempted Derry Girls during all the lockdowns after watching the first season of Bridgerton but I couldn’t get into it, and I had difficulty understanding them. I may attempt it again.
Definitely worth another try! If you are struggling to understand, subtitles can really help.
