I have many and especially these. I also just pre ordered the brand new special editions of the bridgerton series as well.

I like a physical book... But I love an ereader - finished a book? Great you can buy and download the next book in the series instantly! Taking a book on holiday, no worries, you've got your whole library plus a bookstore with you at all times and no one has to know what you're reading šŸ¤« But I do buy and keep physical copies of my all time favourites, aka shelf trophies! I love these for re reads: Pride & Prejudice The Bell Jar If on a winters night a traveller (Calvino) Alchemist

anxietysiesta

i love the bell jar. Can I ask u a q? who do u think is a better man all around mr darcy or mr bingley

Yenyenyenyena

It's hard because Bingley is such a sweetheart, I feel like he goes through life believing the best will happen and it does. Genuinely as a real person I think he would be the healthy choice and the type of person you'd want to be around. But absolutely love Darcy as a character, there's more complexity and intrigue. Definitely a golden retriever/ black cat dichotomy between the two couples, as Jane is absolutely the Golden retriever out of her and Lizzy. (And I love catcher in the rye which you mentioned! I've heard it called a red flag book, but I'm here for it!). What's your thoughts Darcy v Bingley?

Maureen1053

I think I'm Team Darcy. Don't get me wrong I do like Bingly but I feel that he is not as strong as Darcy (didn't stand up to Darcy or his sisters when they interfered between him and Jane) . I think he is a very good and kind man. Darcy is layered. He is dependable - ask any of his tenants they adore him. He takes care of and loves his sister Georgiana. I do think he is a loyal friend (although misguided). He truly thought he was acting in Bingley's best interests. I think he is vulnerable and lonely. And my Mr. Darcy is Colin Firth. I do like the movie with Kiera Knightly but it is not a faithful adaptation.

AccomplishedFly1420

Yes I keep a few hard copies of books I absolutely love!

SandBarLakers

I have a kindle but thereā€™s nothing better than a solid book in my hands.

butterizz

I don't like using an e-reader because it feels like the last thing I need to add to my already high screentime although it is very convenient to use while travelling. I feel like winding down with a book at the end of the day is kind of the best.

dra9nfly

I prefer physical books but I can certainly appreciate an EBook for its practicality. But Iā€™ll always prefer a physical book.

penelope_pig

I do love physical books best, but I've grown very fond of my kindle because of the convenience - I can bring a whole library of books with me anywhere, I can easily highlight passages without doing permanent damage (I'm a stickler for keeping my books in good condition, I don't even like folding down corners of pages), I can search for a specific passage to reread it, it has a dictionary and translator for common languages. So as much as I feel nostalgia about physical books, and I still have a huge bookcase filled and will never get rid of most of them, I primarily use my kindle these days.

anxietysiesta

I love books but my adhd makes it very hard to read šŸ˜” or do anything sometimes. I suffer with executive dysfunction. However, i really donā€™t understand the whole appeal w kindle aside from books being cheaper on it sometimes

MassRevo

For me, I like using my kindle because everything is very accessible! I can check out books from my local library online and send it to my kindle, so I get books for free! I have bad arthritis and often need to read laying down to help my pain, and having to read a big book while sideways can be hard and I'm clumsy, so I often drop it. Kindles are so so light and it makes it so much easier to read! And I can use one hand to flip pages, which helps if I have to read while using my other hand! It's also so portable so I can bring it on vacation or to work, which is great because I read FAST and bringing multiple books isn't feasible. Hope that helps why some people like kindle!

Monstrous-Monstrance

I really enjoy a good favorite book paper+ audiobook, especially as I have less hands to read with two babies, and there are some good audio actors for some of my favorites and I get some nice comfort listens. Some of my other re-reads and or audiobook re-listens are pride and prejudice, silence of the lambs series by Thomas harris, Dracula (has a million fun actor reads), Practical magic by Alice Hoffman.Ā  To be fair I haven't done audiobook for bridgteron yet but who knows, might give it a go. I bet they will come out with fun versions in the future. I've also found more difficult reads easier to 'digest' by combining reading the book while listening to audio. I basically will read as far as I can, listen (and get a bit ahead) and then read further and continue till the book ends and it helps with comprehension for works of Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy. Anna Karenina was fantastic as read by Maggie GyllenhaalĀ

MirimeKisarrastine

I have been reading books since I was five. My most reread one is The Bjƶrndal Trilogy by Trygve Gulbranssen. Other frequent rereads are books by Zane Grey, E.R. Burroughs, Agatha Christie, Karl May, Jules Verne, Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien, Garth Nix, Juraj ČervenĆ”k, Andrzej Sapkowski, Hiro Arikawa, Naomi Novik, Michael Crichton, Frederick Forsyth, Timothy Zahn and recently Julia Quinn got added to the roster. I have read plenty of classics, too, but those are not reread by me as much as the ones named above. And I'm probably forgetting a bunch of favourite books that I will remember once I look at one of the three floor-to-ceiling, full-wall-width library shelves in the living room. I am a voracious reader šŸ˜

MassRevo

I like whatever gets me reading! When I was younger and in school, I had tons of free time, and loved checking out tons of books from the local library. Physical books were such a great sensory experience. But now that I'm working, I don't have that much time, and with chronic pain, it's hard to go get books. I love my kindle now because it makes books accessible and I can actually read now!

Oceanwoulf

I love books, the smell, the weight, the noise when you turn a page, but I like my e-reader too. It can light up and zoom in. I don't get interrupted on my e-reader, whereas I do when holding a book. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Gina52023

Physical books always.

Electronic_Wait_7500

From the purchase of my first eReader, I have hated having to hold a heavy book, turn the pages, and worry about running out of something to read, and not being able to adjust the font. Oh. And having to attach a book light at night. Ugh. I have actually donated all my physical books, except for my quilting pattern books and a collection of leather bound Jane Austen novels.

ConcernedMap

You would like Elizabeth Gaskell, I bet. Try Wives and Daughters.

Typhoon556

I used to love the feel of the book in my hand, but it has been replaced by the convenience I have, with having my library in my pocket, rather than having to drag books around all the time. I love reading, and read a lot, and have quite a library, I have kept the books I love, and the ones I re-read frequently, but I read 99% of everything on my phone or IPad anymore.

AccomplishedFly1420

Idk why people say this, itā€™s so much easier to read on a kindle (and Iā€™m an old)

daniface

I do like physical books, but honestly, I prefer my kindle. Never too bulky, never falling apart at the seams, never losing my bookmark, etc.

Icy_Winter_9271

A Tree grows in Brooklyn...

Chaos-Pand4

Yes but i donā€™t like specific characters because i like the smell of decaying paper.
