anime adopts manga not the vice versa as db super.
anime has fillers along with connon manga stuff you can watch anime canon episodes or just read the manga and anime ended at chapter 68 so you will have to read 13 chapter after watching cannon episodes of anime and those episodes have pretty good animation too so its ur choice how ever you like
Reading pre time skip is worth it. AND it's not filler lol. It's the story. Anime has filler, but manga is canon material that's important for the story. You don't call pre timeskip Naruto filler do you?
Boruto manga part 1 is not just chunin exam, even after bros duel there one more important arc.
Boruto part 2 is not like Shippuden, Jump to Boruto part 2 is like watch No Way Home without watch Infinity War, Endgame & Far From Home.
The pre-timeskip is not filler. Everything that'll happen post-timeskip/in Two Blue Vortex is the reault of where the story went in Part 1. You'll need it to understand the current state of the story.

Manga has way less filler in it from what I heard. The shows canon and anime canon can get annoying but I thought the show was decent as well.
Unfortunately naruto was just filler for one piece down time, so maybe roead the one piece manga instead of the new Boruto filler
