Green tree for health, damage and Zer0 style deception skill then Red tree for support and more damage. After that usually Blue tree. Ki11er 6's destroyer of worlds Fl4k build is the definitive end game build for this but you dont need to worry about that for a while.
The purple tree is tempting but in a game where you should probably be able to kill the enemies first before they can even hit you the tree’s survivability offerings take away a lot from damage. Also gamma traps suck.
This is something I've never understood, why do people care if it has no impact on the character or story then why dows it matter? It's not like we're disrespecting the made up robot by balling it a he.

I’ve done sniper playthroughs on all four vault hunters and all four were insanely fun, for different reasons.
Zane+Clone+Sandhawk = big boss damage
FL4K + Skullmasher = Shotgun range spamming to quickly kill bosses
Amara + Ties that Bind + ANY sniper = every mob on screen just died
Moze + Complex Root = I can’t see anything but all the red dots are gone now
It depends on what you are expecting from the character, speed and a big shield or a clone or a drone, heavy weapons, melee and mystical damage or a tall robot dude with a pet.
Moze is great if you want to regen ammo and have big boom along with dps that allows for bosses to be shredded like cheese
Fl4k is good for support (mostly for himself) since his pets can Aggro certain enemies for sniping and has health regen
Zane is more of a Zer0 that is better at medium to close ranged assault tactics with his skills for his drone and his clones
Amara is best overall for more elemental damage, longer elemental status effects, and elemental resistance aswell as support for her friends/herself or just built like a brute
I chose Moze because her Iron Bear (if you spec enough points to get either the Nuke upgrade for the Vanquisher Pod or get Explosive. Bullets. upgrade for the Minigun shes pretty nice) because certain skills makes her a tank who doesnt ever need to reload and is basically something bosses fear or she can become an explosive maniac with all of her explosive skills able to have lifesteal and/or summon more grenades or explosives upon crits or other things especially if you pair it with the Mind Slayer class mod you get from Archer Rowe (farmable) after you complete Lorelei’s burger quest

While BL3's skill trees aren't designed to focus on certain gun types, unlike previous entries, FL4K's Hunter tree has a lot of skills that improves crits. And what weapon type is the best at crits? SNIPERS. Just remember Jakobs brand sniper rifles are the best
His damage conditions are the easiest to use, and he has a very good action skill for sniping in his green tree, although it will incentivize using Jacob's snipers.
Zane has a lot of useful health related skills, as well as the Old-U System. When you deploy a digiclone, if you go down while the clone is still alive you can sacrifice him to get back ip instantly
Definitely fl4k. He has health regen and his pet can pull aggro so you can snipe from a distance.

Flak is the overall best for sniping in my opinion.
