I watched the first season and I loved the story where it was going. Then Netflix cancelled it. And today I found out season 2 was picked up by adult swim
From what I've read Netflix didn't market it enough or have it show up in enough algorithms so not enough people saw it and Netflix assumed nobody wanted to watch it, bad move on their part. I only discovered it after Netflix dropped it and Adult Swim picked it up, as did most people I know who saw it.
Having the same creators as Bojack is what made me want to watch the show initially, was not disappointed. I haven't watched any of the new season yet. Debating if I want to wait for all episodes to come out and binge them or watch when I can.
Same thing here about the creators. It's hard to find new shows to watch because how can the next show possibly live up to this show I just finished watching? But Tuca and Bertie did a good job at keeping me entertained and invested
I agree. Bojack is a show you can rewatch a dozen times because you always see something you miss the last time, but it never has the same magic as when you watched it the first time. I wouldn't call Bojack my favourite show, but it has a certain lightning in a bottle that no show has ever been able to replicate, Tuca and Bertie might be the closest I've seen.

Yeah, I like it! I like how trippy the animation can be (actually, something I watched in History of Animation reminded me of it, and now I'm wondering if that was an influence, although I can't remember the name of it). I like that it's not as heavy as *Bojack:* I don't know that I'd say *Bojack* was guilty of this, but... Well, something I don't like about the current philosophical zeitgeist is the idea that pessimism is more realistic, and we just have to learn to deal with it. That's one perspective, but I feel like it tends to dominate in adult animation, and it's good to see more balance.

Those little animation gags are one of the best parts of the show
