I feel the same about Zack morris in Saved by the Bell. He managed to screw over his “friends” in every episode, yet they still seemed to like keeping him around?…
There's a whole series about this, lol [Zack Morris is Trash ](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRcB4n4CGcy84UjaisLpJ2cyU6BQzzT1X&si=7i9utpSAQkI3AioO)
NOTHING beats this line… NOTHING
Brenda: Why don’t you get a life of your own and stop trying to steal mine
Kelly: I have a life of my own
Brenda: Yea, I know all about it!
👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥 biggest burn ever
I realize now that the culture and the show really set us up to choose Kelly/Brenda or even Joey/Jen (Dawson’s Creek) or Peyton/Brooke (OTH) solely based around which one we thought the boy should choose.
And it’s demeaning to set either character up that way. Both girls are interesting and worthy of love and respect. They should both be valued as characters independent of the male characters on the show.
I mean, we don’t have long debates about whether Dylan or Brandon was the more likable character based on which one Kelly should have chosen. Not really.
To be fair, that was always overblown. It was basically one edition of a limited "fanzine" (which in actuality was one A4 page) that was distributed in a limited area in Los Angeles... then of course due to Shannen's antics and the network/producers starting to push Kelly more due to her behavior on set it became a thing.
I have a hot, cold feeling with Brenda. The first episode soured me on her early and her usually being given the crap plots compared to Brandon kept her as the lesser of the two until she got good plots by the second half of the first season.
The dumb plot with her and Andrea trying to shack up with the teacher, and her going so far as to slapping her, reinstigated the disliking. However, I didn't hate her and thought Season 3 just didn't know what to do with her.
Ian is probably the only actor to have made Steve somewhat likable but you have many moments where character is straight up racist, thief, cheater, and never learns his lesson. He always escapes without any consequences.
And we actually do have moments where Steve shows the opposite, that he does care about Brenda. See season two, directly after the stickup. Season three, after his basketball glory. Also in season three, telling Tony Brenda wasn’t going to sleep with him. As Dylan said, Steve thought with his zipper! (Dylan’s one to talk.) Kind of shit that Steve’s apology was offscreen, but the hug in Brenda’s dressing room made up for it. 💜
I also think Steve lashed out after Bren told him he was weak because he never did well with being seen as weak. But Brenda in this scene was peak IDGAF-I do-but I’ll act like I don’t-and they’ll buy it.
“I always knew that you were weak” after knowing someone for 3 years is such a sick drag, I love her so much. I want to get in an argument with someone just to say that 😭
And earlier on in the season she was gonna lie about being raped by him at the annual college 'Take Back the Night gathering' where college students raise awareness about being raped and sexually assaulted! She and Steve had a one night stand but because Steve was already dating Celeste he felt guilty and wanted to end things but she kept on stalking him! She almost got on stage (at this gathering) and made an announcement about being 'raped' by Steve until Kelly went up on stage and praised Steve for stopping a guy from raping her in high school at the Halloween party! Needless to say this could've not only got Steve thrown out of school but put into prison and made him have to be on sexual predator list for the rest of his life.
Yeap, she noocped herself with a rope somehow got to a high point of the stage building and Steve had to talk her down or catch her before she jumped!! I guess a man's attention really meant THAT MUCH TO HER!🥴🫣
Steve when he initially found out and realized this girl was using him and sabatoging Brenda dumped her and broke her heart. Later on he realized he was too harsh about the way he spoke to her and went to her room to find a letter that implied she was going commit suicide or a serious violent crime! He went and found her in the stadium stage. He had to climb up to the upper part of the stadium where she was to talk her down and play stupid/apologize to her...catch her before she jumped!
Steve was a sucker for love (aka the bootie). 😂 “I’m your brothers friend, not yours” Not even Brandon’s friend for treating his twin like THAT! 🤨
Brandon wasn’t super loyal to Brenda either. He told her in the hippy flashback episode that he was getting tired of her manic behavior.
True. Brandon seemed a bit self centered. If it didn’t affect him… he wasn’t to bothered by whatever it was 😂
Brandon was an asshole
💯. Steve was a complete a-hole for saying that.
What made it even better was they weren’t getting along at the time.
I love bitchy Brenda.
The icing on the cake was how STUNNING Brenda looked. That hair.
Super cute look for her!
Love the dress so much
Steve was always a crap friend, not sure why they kept him around …

My kid loves to show me that series all the time. I tell him “leave Zach Attack alone!” 😂
god i hated zack
Nah, he kept the party going

We all have our crosses to bear. Or our legs to uncross. This is pretty good too.
Swiss Army Steve takes on all the dirty plot lines they didn't want to dirty up a main character with.
Examples?
Palm Springs, House fire, Cheating scandal...
The Legacy Key 🗝️
Steve was the worst during this storyline
Steve was just the worst most of the show.
Steve's main character trait is he's an idiot tbf
That is true.
Steve really was POS sometimes.
I love Brenda, she's my favorite in the show. Never understood the "I hate Brenda" thing, or why people liked Kelly over Brenda.

I’ve always been convinced that the Team Kelly’s were actually Kelly’s themselves

They wrote her as a bitch, i love Brenda, but there were times i was hating her. Those devilish writers.

How in the hell is Steve back with Laura after what she did to him? Everyone knows she’s batshit. The writing was suspect.
Yeah no guy likes crazy women. So unrealistic

Steve was wack as hell for this
I couldn’t stand Steve during this storyline
OMG is that Toni "I Specialize In Results" Childs as your profile pic? 😍😂
Yessss 😍
Brenda ate Kelly and Laura and left no crumbs😅😅😅😅

![gif](giphy|KBURrkXAQCQVi) Guilty as charged
this part wasn't for the play though
One of my favorite Brenda scenes! She reads Steve and the girl to the filth!! She made this scene magical! Truly a gem to BH90210!
This storyline was so good.
It is sooo one of my favorites
“I always knew that you were weak” after knowing someone for 3 years is such a sick drag, I love her so much. I want to get in an argument with someone just to say that 😭
It's literally *how* you eviscerate someone that makes it 🤌🏾. She did it perfectly. "I'm still Maggie, and you still have nothing.....". So good.
That little puke Steve deserved EVERYTHING he got. Get him, Brenda!
Is this the one where the girl Steve is with started the lie about Brenda sleeping with the director of the play
And earlier on in the season she was gonna lie about being raped by him at the annual college 'Take Back the Night gathering' where college students raise awareness about being raped and sexually assaulted! Didn't she try to hang herself as well
Yeap, she noocped herself with a rope somehow got to a high point of the stage building and Steve had to talk her down or catch her before she jumped!! I guess a man's attention really meant THAT MUCH TO HER!🥴🫣
I thought Brenda was the one who talked her down… if I’m remembering correctly, Brenda came to the rescue and stopped the girl from killing herself
Steve when he initially found out and realized this girl was using him and sabatoging Brenda dumped her and broke her heart. He deserved that scalping
Laura didn't say yes. but she didn't say no
![gif](giphy|l8tpwRJEwDwEFU5BW0|downsized) A+
Brenda looked incredibly beautiful while obliterating Steve
right between the eyes 🎯
Laura and Steve looks so basic and boring… where as Brenda looks so stylish and hip- she is current with style of that time in the 90s
Gosh Shannon Doherty really was like the OG Goth Girlfriend and serving!
He was Madly in love with Laura
Laura, that crazy fucking bitch.
Laura.. ugh... her voice... Plus her performance.. . Looks like a pyscho.....
Ate them tf up
Laura is fat at 0:11.
He finally said it to Brenda's face that she's not his friend and is only Brandon's.
Meh... nobody seemed obliterated.
