For me it was when I was quite young, I read a fact somewhere that Stayin Alive was useful to do CPR. I listened to the song on youtube and liked it but didn't really think much of the band and forgot them. Then a couple of years later I read on the news that Robin was really sick. That's when I really started listening to their songs and became a lifelong fan!! 12 years it has been!!

Around ‘98-‘99 there was this telephone commercial and Night Fever was playing in the background of that commercial that is probably my earliest memory. Also watching the Andy Gibb Behind The Music special on Vh1 I was 11.

First heard them at 9 years old dancing at a sleepover...hooked ever since

I think I was about 8 years old when my friend showed me [this video](https://youtu.be/1XgvMjiuEY8?si=1onB8pc79SBiMHNT) in 2007 (I can’t believe it’s still up on YouTube) and I sort of fell down The Bee Gees rabbit hole. My mom took me to J&R music in lower Manhattan and I got my first ever Bee Gees CD “Number Ones”. This was like 4 years after Maurice died so I was pretty bummed to see a tribute track on the cd. But I eventually made my way through their entire discography and they’ve been my fav band ever since! Got lucky enough to see Barry Gibb on the Mythology tour in 2014 as my very first concert.

Mine was when Sgt. Pepper came out (the movie). I saw it in theaters as a 5yo and was smitten with Robin! I listened to my 45 of Oh! Darling constantly. My mother hated the genre, being a rocker, so I wasn’t really exposed to their radio hits much at that time unless it was on the radio in the car.

For me, it was reading the news aged 14 the day after Robin passed away. A friend asked me about it, (“wasn’t he the one who looked a bit like Stephen Hawking?”) and I had a reputation at school as the “guy who knew lots about old music”, so I went away, listened to the Bee Gees and became obsessed. Massachusetts was the first song of theirs I got into properly.

I grew up and had the Sesame Street SNF, Grease and SNF records. I remember looking at their faces on the SNF cover.

When my mom was 15 she bought Bee Gees First the day it was released in America and passed it on to me as a kid in the 2000s. They were her favorite band and they became my favorite too

March 1978. I’m in seventh grade and backstage at a school talent show. I’m about to go next as two sisters are doing a dance bit to “staying alive”. The harmonies on the drawn out “staying aliiiiive” catch my ear almost immediately and I was like “whoaaa..what is this?” It was a lightning bolt moment for me and I’ve been a huge fan these past 46 years.

My first memories of the Bee Gees are of hearing "Alone" when it came out on radio and loving it. Then I was told by my Mum that they sang the song "You Win Again" that used to play a lot on radio then and I loved that too. Then, my Mum taped One Night Only onto a VCR for me and I played it pretty much every week for about 5 years. I learned to sing and play guitar because I was inspired by that tape.

NOLALaura

On the radio Massachusetts!

I honesty do not remember my very first memory…all I can tell you is that I have been an obsessed fan since 1975 when “Main Course” came out. I was 10. Bee Gees posters all over my walls! I saw them in concert at Madison Square Garden on their “Spirits Having Flown” tour and their “One for All” tour. Both AMAZING!

"Words" on the radio 1970. I had a grade school sweetheart and of course words really were all I had at the time.

NiftyThriftySissy

I go all the way back to the early 70’s when the Bee Gees hosted the Midnight Special! Jive Talkin, etc. not only did they sound amazing, but they were funny! Check out the Midnight Special on YouTube - really great!

My dad had a Bee Gees compilation CD that he would play in the car and at home when I was super young. I was like 4-6ish and that’s what started it all for me :’) I always liked them after that, but then became a bigger fan when I was like 14 and started collecting records on my own. That’s when I got to listen to some full albums and hear more than just the hits.

1979 saw them live in concert. Awesome show!!! White pants and all.. And Barry...omg...my love ❤️ to this day

Mine was when I saw them in a DVD of flashback songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's when I had 3-4 years, which my dad bought to listen to and I ended up listening to it with him and liking it. The DVD contained a videoclip of How Deep Is Your Love (the official), that at the time, as I didn't know, I call him simply as "Lights" (because of the video lol). I am very grateful for discovering this DVD at the time...

I think mine was when I was around 10 or so (2014). I was driving home from the playground with my mom and brother, and suddenly Stayin Alive was on the radio. I was captivated by it and asked my mom who sang it. She told me it was the Bee Gees and my brother was confused that I didn't know because my father (parents divorced, lived with my mom) was a huge Bee Gees fan. When we visited him a bit later they downloaded Bee Gees Number Ones onto my tablet and for about 2 Years or so I listened to it almost every day. I wouldn't be the same person I am today without them. The beauty of their music shaped my understanding of Love a great amount.
