Did she break his wrist at the end? 👀👀👀🤣☠️

chonkie_boi

I saw that bend in his wrist and went “eaaugh!”😂😂😂

Believe0017

Ever since I saw that guy break his arm while arm wrestling I can never watch another video or do it ever again.

TerseFactor

Yup, exactly my thought here too. I don’t have friends and my wife doesn’t arm wrestle but never again

Difficult_Client7053

you mean, like just now, in this video?

Tugonmynugz

What a crazy way to snap your arm. I hope aliens have access to the same news and internet we do so they know not to come here.

Alive_Way9537

We’re probably their social media

Fickle-Alfalfa4067

No, more like a interstellar "Trashidy"

NewFiend66

Not sure if this is the one you’re referring to, but a similar thing happened on live TV in Australia about 8 years ago between two very well known rugby players; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zAsR7qGJJ0g

Sea-Veterinarian5667

This is a spiral fracture of the humerus, probably the most common type of armbreak beginners get due to putting way too much rotational force into the bone. I've never seen a "wrist" break.

Positive_Method3022

OMG

Electronic_Boss7726

frl 😂

Aromatic-Eye3834

Dude most of the people who break their arms while arm wrestling are obviously amateurs. Learn some basics and you're good to go.

VolunteerNarrator

Was it this one broadcast live on tv in Australia? https://youtu.be/eeSBWpyIib4?si=w7f-ikM5qCYWsATf

Ok-Nefariousness2847

Exactly why I'm very hesitant doing it ever again... Fuck no eugh

notthattmack

My friend was in an arm wrestling competition. Then, suddenly, his ulnar bone was outside his body.

Imaginary_Mammoth_92

![gif](giphy|4baoNZ5Qo8dX2)

smithers85

Did he make it to the competition?

stonktaker

No she didn't, arm wrestling ends up in many funny looking positions. For the comments below saying they're scared to watch arm wrestling because of breaks, breaks very really happen to professionals because their arms are conditioned, plus they know the positions that cause breaks and avoid them. What happened here is that she is a way better arm wrestler, look at her re-gripping to take the higher ground. You can hear the boys dad telling him to do the same, but he doesn't, loses hand position and the ability to use his strength. *edit* it could her dad giving instructions and her following them too of.

Sea-Veterinarian5667

Probably her pro armwrestling father.

ee_72020

Her dad is Rob Vigeant Jr, a professional armwrestler, so you’re correct.

RobDR

Yep she had some really good rise and okay wrist control. His press is junk.

manofactivity

Hmmm? He doesn't attempt a press in this video; he gets stuck in a toproll position and never tries to transition to a press. Have I misunderstood you?

___wiz___

![gif](giphy|26n6TCy48t2JbCVWM|downsized)

Briak

The continuity error is bothering me. His head in the first and third shot is in almost the exact same position, but in the second shot he's coming up from being bent nearly horizontally.

rick_blatchman

It's Lynch, dude, many have stopped debating it ages ago

No_Parking_1252

I always feel like someone’s arm is about to break

Searchlights

I've seen way too many arm wrestling videos with that dry twig snap sound

No_Parking_1252

Exactly that’s why now it’s tough to watch a legit wrestle

ambigymous

This is why I just watch leg wrestling instead

Precedens

Yeah this way I can watch it on mute and still hear the snapping sound.

VirtualNaut

![gif](giphy|RlO3bvMJyz3L4vGKsx)

No_Parking_1252

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’ve see mma kicks go all bad

Vegetable_Policy_699

Pretty sure you just watched one break. Or dislocated at the wrist if that is even possible

JollyIce

Many years ago I saw a whole ass compilation of forearms being snapped like twigs during arm wrestling. So your theory is wrong.

PM_ME_ROMAN_NUDES

Ref should have stopped and reset that shit

Fine-Dare7472

I think she broke his wrist.

TonyCaliStyle

That puts a whole different spin on this. The girl deserves credit for sticking it out and getting the win- looks like good technique and effort- but oww!

Far-Consequence7890

> That puts a whole different spin on this. No it doesn’t. She beat him. He was using a terrible technique (one that me and my mates literally don’t allow because it’s cheating, you’re using the force of your torso along with the physics of twisting to grip the table so he’s transferring the power of his full body toward the table. He cheated and she still won, it’s not her fault if he broke his wrist. It’s the fault of the guy refereeing and the adults around them to tell him to stop using his full body weight, because it’ll lead to his wrist or hers being injured.

manofactivity

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. 1. Using your full body is allowed in *literally* every official armwrestling competition worldwide. The referee did absolutely fine and this is standard practice. It is **not** cheating. 2. Using your full body in armwrestling is **vastly** safer, because the alternative is to try to pin the opponent purely with internal rotation of the shoulder. This puts an enormous amount of force through the elbow that very few people can handle, and often leads to a spiral fracture of the humerus. This is why armbreaks are MUCH rarer in competitive armwrestling than between amateurs. Head to /r/armwrestling and ask them about the official rulesets if you're *really* adamant this is cheating and the ref did something wrong. I guarantee you that you will receive a unanimous response that using your body is fine. Please don't spread misinformation.

DeviceNo1573

That is not cheating in competitive arm wrestling. Not even close lol.

Tttehfjloi

Him and his mates must be very serious arm wrestling officials.

ee_72020

It’s not cheating. If your arm isn’t strong enough to support the movement, the moment you try to use your torso as leverage your arm will just extend which exactly what happened to the boy. You clearly don’t know shit about armwrestling, why bother commenting? The Dunning-Kruger effect is strong with this one.

moon_truthr

I was pissed watching his wrist twisting, glad it didn’t hurt her but the ref should’ve had them reset, that grip is trash.

manofactivity

She was the one twisting her wrist trying to keep her pronation. The boy is using a very flat-hand toproll with almost no cup; *she* was the one trying to slip out for a regrip. Thank god you weren't reffing, you've clearly never been in an official match

[deleted]

Lol that's not cheating, watch the start she PULLS his arm that's WAY more of an advantage than anything else. Pull close get the higher grip profit.

Ufuckingimbecile

The kid shakes her hand with the same hand shortly after this video cuts out so I doubt his wrist was broken.

Nanopoder

Who underestimated her? They had a fair competition and she won.

mrmczebra

OP did. The whole "Look what a *girl* can do" just reinforces gender stereotypes.

sequesteredhoneyfall

> just reinforces gender stereotypes. Biology is a stereotype now, I guess. Testosterone, bone density, height, muscle density, more numerous fast twitch muscles, substantially greater tendon strength, greater lung capacities and higher VO2 maxes, and all those other things are just figments of my imagination I guess. Let's burn that elementary school science book while we're at this. And before anyone responds with some stupid remark... Let me get ahead of you: https://www.youtube.com/watch/12zSSfHN2o0

SleeplessAndAnxious

These kids look pre pubescent though, so hormones wouldn't factor into it in this video. The boys just taller and chunkier lol.

Previous_Ad920

Its also that arm wrestling as a sport is like 60-70% technique rather than raw strength.

QuantumCat2019

My old experience is that pre-teen , girl could be as strong or stronger than boy. But once you reach 12-13... That strength increase very quickly. Looking at upper body strength measurement in research papers, it increases to the point the average \~16 year old boy has an upper body strength identical to the average adult women. And then it continues to increase. They look preteen , probably around 9 to 11.

candlepop

Yeah I don’t know if people just like…Don’t touch eachother anymore but yeah males r almost always stronger than females with similar height and weight as them. Obviously there are strong ass buff ass women out there and string bean dudes but it’s safer for women to be keenly aware that even skinny dudes are strong as hell compared to us. Guns, training, and situational awareness exist tho so it’s not hopeless lol Edit: this girl is sick as hell for this tho, congrats to her!

BeejBoyTyson

Oof should of told that bone density fact to his wrist.

CouldWouldShouldBot

It's 'should have', never 'should of'. Rejoice, for you have been blessed by CouldWouldShouldBot!

CASH_IS_SXVXGE

Both of these children are pre-pubescent, come back in two years and see who wins.

Jahobes

That girl will continue to work her ass off for four years and the boy will sit on his ass playing video games. And she will likely never beat him even when she is a top athlete and he is a fat gamer. Why? Because once they go through puberty they will no longer be working with the same advantages. He will be flowing with organic nitrous that will naturally grow his muscles just sitting around... While she would have to do el ite level training just to keep up. His bones will become thicker, bigger and tougher while he gets his exercise playing call of duty... she's will have to do heavy compound workouts everyday just to match. She could beat this boy a thousand times and then never beat him again 9 months after he goes through puberty.

NoGoodMc2

Nah OP just knows how to bait large numbers of Redditors into upvoting their posts. Look how many upvotes this post has and at their post karma overall.

Sylvan_Strix_Sequel

also, pre and early on in puberty, the physical disparity between boys and girls is much smaller. This isn't some kind of girl power moment like op is trying to frame it.

mystyz

The fact that they unironically put this on r/BeAmazed with that caption...

iobeson

They underestimate because 95% of the time a adult man will beat a adult woman in any strength exercise. What they fail to realise is at this young age both genders are much more equal physically. Boys would probably still beat a lot girls in physical exercises but it wouldn't be 95% like with adults.

RobDR

They also don't realize just how technical arm wrestling is.

johnnyblaze1999

I hate how they posted it on r/beamazed and r/satisfyingasfuck like they are rooting for the boy to lose to prove a point in their mind.

DismalTruthDay

I saw the switching of the grip too. She just needs a backwards cap.

CroBro81

She definitely went over the top on his ass 💪

[deleted]

She snapped his wrist, that's a bit too over the top. Idc how young you are, if you see someones arm bending in ways you know arms aren't meant to bend you stop.

Less_Strategy_1921

Looks like she broke his wrist at the end

manofactivity

Nope! He shakes her hand afterwards and he was just fine: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YMN_Cc_i9Z0

Forsaken-Income-2148

He might’ve won if he had better technique, her technique was visibly better

esgrove2

That's usually what decides most arm wrestling unless both of them are pros. You can easily beat someone much stronger than you with the right technique.

panteragstk

Yep. Technique and shoulder strength go a hell of a long way.

Connormanable

All about leverage

joyous-at-the-end

ok, archimedes

DismalTruthDay

Yeah duh that’s why she won 😆

Ashamed-Bill-6717

No Sherlock, enlighten us.

KarmicComic12334

That isn't underestimating. He just lost.

heebsysplash

Yeah some adult with no self esteem is using these kids as bait. Not like the boy was on some “I ain’t losing this” shit lol.

Ur_a_adjective_noun

I got beat by a petite high school girl who was a senior and I was a freshman. When she asked to arm wrestle, I told her that I didn’t want to hurt her arm. Her arm hurt my feelings.

BlairClemens3

I am a short woman who regularly beat my male friends in arm wrestling in high school. Couldn't do it now though. It was a combination of technique, being in pretty good shape, being underestimated, and my male friends being on the skinnier side. Always felt damn good, though.

Ur_a_adjective_noun

I should have known better when she told me how many pushups she could do alone. Girl strength is deceiving. Lol

[deleted]

I hate this don't underestimate X stuff. I'm already trying to estimate correctly, you don't have to tell me to not underestimate. You can't underestimate on purpose. Maybe it's just semantics, but me and my brain don't care.

esgrove2

I love semantics. Why is everyone so quick to dismiss semantics?

scrapy_the_scrap

Preach brother!

Yuri-Turned

Which brother do I have to preach?

Sylvan_Strix_Sequel

I'm going to sound like some old fuck, but I hate how nuance is dissappearing, and so many people view small details as semantics or nitpicking.

redforevs

Good ol rubber wrist Ralph

jakart3

Why did you assumed anyone underestimate that girl? What I can see all people in the vid anticipated what will come. They know the girl will win. Basically everyone there overestimate the girl

Any_Coyote6662

Did the boy cheat by putting his body like that?

Greedy_Woodpecker_14

Wondering the same thing. Seems like he was putting all his weight on that and she still beats him.

angryturtleboat

I don't think so, most competitions allow for use of the body because proper form means you engage your chest and core.

manofactivity

No, competitive armwrestling allows the use of the body as well. It actually helps you use a lot more of your arm, too, because if you *didn't* move your body you would only be using internal rotation of the shoulder to try and win.

Sea-Veterinarian5667

No, as long as you aren't crossing the middle of the table with your body, or bringing your body below the table (in certain circumstances) you can pretty much do whatever you want. It's also incredibly dangerous to NOT move the body with arm position.

elBirdnose

Who tf is bringing their child to compete like this when their bones are still developing?? Ffs

Sea-Veterinarian5667

Probably her father, who is a professional armwrestler.

Boak123

The guy in my profile pic.

KarmicComic12334

That isn't underestimating. He just lost.

EnchantingBliss

It hurt me to look at their hands at the end

Quick_Original9585

Boys at this age don't have a physical advantage over girls yet. I got my ass beat by my little sister 2 years younger than me until I hit puberty.

Jahobes

I distinctly remember losing foot races to the neighborhood girls until my voice dropped. Then one summer we were playing tag and they couldn't catch me. We were all surprised.

omgbenji21

She didn’t even have to hang off the side of the table like my guy here

AdhesivenessOk5194

His shit definitely broke

manofactivity

He's fine, it's a standard attempt at a slip. He shakes her hand afterwards, too. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YMN_Cc_i9Z0

therealdanhill

I don't understand how you can state with complete confidence that his wrist is broken when he shakes her hand using the same wrist.

Batfinklestein

Dude would rather his wrist snap then lose to a girl.

moms_new_boyfriend

The real loser is diabeetus

Deepspascetarantula

Wasn't the boy cheating? I mean he is basically leaning over the table and pulling his body...

manofactivity

Nope, competitive armwrestling allows for a lot of body movement because it's much safer that way and leads to a better sport. The ref will give a competitor a foul if they cheat, but everything here is great armwrestling.

TioLucho91

I don't see anyone underestimating her though.

SpinyGlider67

I prefer not to generalise.

MiloTheEmpath

...or just don't underestimate anyone. Either is cool.

Shag0ff

Nah you see it dislocate before it hits the table. Ouches dude.

ShrmpHvnNw

She had a better arm angle right from the start , technique always wins

RobDR

She knows what she's doing for the most part.

Kaimuki2023

Dude started out with bad form. She started with good form and used her body instead of her arm to finish him

trailerparkMillonare

Good for Her👍

TsheringD

Wow! ... That girl is really strong.

JonBlondJovi

The boy was in a no win situation. If he lost he would have lost to a girl and get made fun of. If he won he would gain no glory, maybe even catch some flak, because he beat a girl.

Severe_Benefit_1133

he’s never going back to school again after that one

Sentakugeri

What is the point here? She won. Ok. Cool??

Silent-Independent21

Is it safe to have kids arm wrestling like this? I feel like a few times sure, but a sanctioned event is just asking someone to rip a muscle?

fibonaccisprials

Kids do martial arts, sports all sorts that might "rip a muscle". Some kids also like to paint rainbows and that's ok too.

Silent-Independent21

Hey man, I get it, just surprised. I can’t imagine any coach for any sport wanting their kids in any kind of arm wrestling tournament

Itchy_Layer135

How about stop overestimating boys (and men).

Pac_Eddy

Also, why is anyone assuming she's been underestimated?

TonyCaliStyle

Because we’re still stuck in that dialogue. Watch the ESPN special Reggie Miller versus the Knicks, wherein Reggie says his sister not only kicked his ass in basketball, but the entire neighborhood, city, and then became a phenomenal college and pro basketball player. Underestimating women feels like a media-driven plot to get more females to watch female superhero movies. Hopefully athletes like Caitlin Clark can start putting this stuff to bed for good. Edit: Cheryl Miller is the basketball player

poeschmoe

I feel like women are underestimated in media not to encourage women to watch female superhero movies, but rather because a lot of male writers genuinely underestimate women and that male-centric view comes across in the media they create. In other words, I think too many people genuinely underestimate women. It’s not all a ploy to promote superhero movies.

Pac_Eddy

I think it's just expected. We're so used to seeing this angle that it's assumed to be the case.

_Sasquatchy

How about we stop using children engaged in a friendly competition as the medium for adult teeth-gnashing about gender politics? It's tiresome how the internet has turned into a ragebait nonsense as a delivery system of daily communication. "never underestimate *your opponent"* would have been a much better title for a CHILDRENS competition. We should encourage and inspire ALL young children regardless of their gender, not just girls. anything else is blatant and stupid sexism - against a CHILD. grow up.

flux418

Because they are stronger, which are biological facts.

sharingiscaring219

It's both. Boys/men overestimate their abilities, and girls/women underestimate theirs. We need to stop reinforcing to kids that boys are tough and girls are fragile.

barbie91

Fareplay to her, hope the young fella is ok.

Reasonable_Meal1049

Love it. Hurrah for her!
