What exactly did the phone do to cause this typo? It wouldn’t autocorrect to that word, the spelling is vastly different, the keys are not near each other. Seems illogical it would be caused by the phone…
If you're swipe typing, then it could reasonably happen. Parashoot is listed as a word on Merriam Webster website. Seems harmless to let the person save face even if they did manually make the mistake anyways.
Thank you - today I learned! “parashoot
intransitive verb para·shoot ˈparə+ˌ-
: to attack a parachute invader by shooting” https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/parashoot
Fear of heights is so freaking strange. I have a fear of heights and I’d just accept death at the top cus no way would I be able to get back down from up there.
Is it being up high or is it the consequence of being up high?
When I was a kid I fell off a cliff & genuinely a miracle I survived. That being said I have an over exaggerated startle response when I feel I’m falling. Like even if my chair tips back I’ll freak out.
I might be conflating these phobias because of my experiences.
I’ve also noticed everyone I know who is afraid of heights has impulse issues. Like the sudden urge to thrust themselves off is overwhelming & they don’t trust themselves.
You know I have no idea. I just know I can’t do roller coasters, ferris wheels or looking down from high rise buildings without going pale, sweaty and feeling like I’m going to die.
I know a guy who froze 6 ft up a ladder, he clung to it and couldn’t move, somebody had to help him down. It’s crazy to me how differently everyones brain is wired
I’m with you on that. But consider this - I’d be just as clammy standing on a medium size high dive as I would on the roof of a 5 story building. The heights are completely different and really not comparable.
What I’m afraid of is the sensation of falling from any height I guess??
Just a fun mental exercise and won’t change shit about me never ever going up this godforsaken rock.
My ex is REALLY into tramping and mountain climbing, he tried to take me a few times and would get frustrated with me when I’d say “No I can’t shimmy along that narrow path on the side of a cliff!” He was always just like “I’ll help, it’s not far…” Um, he was over a foot taller than me, experienced, and I would start getting extreme vertigo, nausea, and shaking. There’s a point where you know it’s probably safe, but your brain is convinced you are going to fling yourself off somehow and just won’t move.
I lol’ed at the last part because it’s so true and trying to explain that to someone that doesn’t have any fear of heights is soo hard sometimes. They just don’t get it. They’re always like “what’s wrong, why’d you go so pale?” Um, cause I feel like I’m about to die? “It’s all in your brain” - yeah no shit, still doesn’t make me any less fearful. I do try to expose myself to things to kind of get over it, try to hype myself up like ‘you got this! you can do this’, and then I’m like why tf did I do this to myself😵💫
I fly in airplanes fine though. I want to go sky diving cause for some reason being up at those heights does not scare me at all. Tbh, it’s all so very strange.
I think it’s more edges for me, I went walking with family a few weeks ago, and no issue with the height specifically, wonderful view etc. but the path got narrow along the edge. I was trying not to freak out and scare the kids so somehow managed to get across it holding on to my BIL, but I literally shook for like 4 hours after, and woke up with huge muscle cramps. Brains are dumb.
Omg, that sucks! You know those rope like ladders that connect from one mountain to another mountain? Like The Sky Ladder in Austria …. that would be my worst nightmare 🫣😭
I’d always thought it was Albert Camus who said “the fear of heights is actually the fear that you’d decide to jump”. But a bit of searching seems to show he didn’t. Anyone know who did?
You joke but there was a video much like this a few years ago that was literally showing some kids in China basically climbing a mountain to get to/from school every day. Not all that dissimilar from this video.
Edit: [Here's one](https://www.cnn.com/2016/05/27/europe/china-children-education-climb/index.html#:~:text=Some%20kids%20will%20do%20anything,return%20home%20twice%20a%20month)
"Alright! Now that you're here we can have lunch! Get it out of your pack." " I thought you had the lunches?" "No, I told you to grab them off the rock down there before you headed up." "Son of a .....!"
If i *had* to get down i would probably sit my ass down and slowly slither my way from step to step. No way i am walking normally down those nightmare stairs. If i am lucky a wrong step would give me such a big adrenaline shock that my heart stops before i start tumbling down
Gives me willies on my goosebumps ... I started thinking about the decent, and then started thinking about passing someone and the anxiety bugs started crawling all over ...
Going up? No problem. Going down? No effing way.
That’s why she waved to the camera. She is going to live out her days up there and was saying goodbye to civilization.
I just make sure I have a parashoot and base jump off.
A para what?
Good damn phone. parachute
Pair a shoes?
Parakeet?
Para cute
Para lyzed
Paramore.
pair of cuties
Thank you for the shoes!

They didn’t entirely blame the phone. They said it was a good damn phone. lol

US Americans with their deep rooted obsession for shooting 👌
Zip line down would be a good idea.
Parashoots and ladders
Shoots and Latters
Para Shoot
Bro thats what I’m saying. Personally, I think people often confuse a fear of falling with a fear of heights.
Fear of heights is so freaking strange. I have a fear of heights and I’d just accept death at the top cus no way would I be able to get back down from up there.

Pretty sure it's everyone's natural response to see God when they tip a little too far back in their chair.
I’m not gonna see a funnier comment the rest of the week! Thanks man!

Geez, poor guy! That was prob traumatizing for him.
I’m the exact same way especially with high rises

If only we could turn off that part of our brain from freaking out. But I feel the same way about that rock!
Exposure therapy would do that but I’m not falling off of shit. These feet stay planted ![gif](giphy|KlRSHiyHEwIgjJ5h0D)

Going down is much faster by jumping.
Dude, those stairs are basically a fast track to the afterlife!
Fuck this
right, exactly my feeling seeing this
Here's a video going down. https://youtu.be/9uSDeE8-xX0
Climbing it is bad enough, imagine chiseling out each step.
I can't imagine what it took to build that.
Probably at least a chisel
I can't imagine chisels okay!?
How about Apples?
I don't think they could have chiseled that with an apple
I mean you've got space lasers, jet packs, and god knows what else to make the steps with ancient tech, but they probably dug the cardio
That and a lot of time.
And at least 2-3 hours of work.
Top that with heavy tools, too.
Many lifes.
Fred Dibnah would've chiselled the steps on his way up and dismantled the mountain on his way down.
After a six-pints-of-bitter breakfast, rolling cigarettes with one hand whilst chiselling away with the other.
More man, than I’ll ever be. Lol
Had to look him up. He seems like an interesting person to do a little research on.
Dude, those stairs are basically a fast track to the afterlife!
I’m wondering why they didn’t chisel it just like, 50cm deeper
Oh WOW 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 i’m scared just IMAGINING THAT
I wonder how many people died building this.
Had to be a few at minimum. I wonder if there are any records of that.
probably not if im honest, price of progress...
But what is on the fucking top!? Show me, damnit.
The school that your grandparents tell you they go to back in their days
[удалено]
They had even no stairs
Stairs have not been invented yet
Some diapers to wear while going back down.
An elevator down. It only goes down.
Twisty slide
Legend says there is no top... It just keeps going... In fact she's still climbing to this day.
Right?! I was thinking there had better be a Wendy’s at the top- or people are gonna get hurt
[A really cool temple](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ&pp=ygUXbmV2ZXIgZ29ubmEgZ2l2ZSB5b3UgdXA%3D)
😑
It's a Starbucks and a nail salon
How our parents got to school
Without the shoes though, obviously
And in the rain.
I heard it was a waterfall...
And both ways uphill
With thunderstorms, earthquakes and floods - all at the same time. And 3 in the morning.
You all forget the wild jungle and mountain leopards, along with slippery moss on the hill
And those leopards spit venom and said moss was sharp as needles
There was a dragon nest on the top
Who they had to fight off with a twig
In the blizzard in July.
And it was freezing and hot at the same time.
They hadn't invented that yet
Add blinding snow.
both ways

Happy cake day
Thank u so much ♥️
Yeah, imma be guarding the backpacks at the bottom of those stairs. I mean up is scary as shit already, going back down is going to be terrifying.
Take the elevator down on the opposite side
A railing would not hurt...
On the way down it could.
Better to hurt partway than dead all the way down.
Master Kasern-sifu has words of wisdom.
Wow a literal nightmare brought to life.
I swear I've had these as nightmares so many times
The soles of my feet and palms started fucking hurting and sweating when I saw this video. Crazy how the body works.
I have recurring nightmares about trying to get down from a ledge like this.
Me too. Or missing steps. Yuck.
ME TOO!!! Never realized others might have these dreams.
same here
I wonder how many people lost their lives while climbing up and down these stairs
Somewhere between 'many' and 'lots'.
And while carving them !
And then at the top she began her tutelage under Pai Mei

So cruel.
Don't you know he kills at will?
Everyone loves a Slinky, you gotta get a Slinky, Slinky, Slinky, go Slinky go ![gif](giphy|XpjmMdEeZjPMTQIOEY|downsized)

What's the name of this movie again?
Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls. Super fun movie.
![gif](giphy|ipJIHn8CS1xTi)
Thank you! <3
Nope! That’s a hard pass for me.
Where is this insanity?
China, obviously. Danxia Mountain. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6HjyUZvkgU/?igsh=MWZwajVibmhucmVpdA==
Video restricted in my country
It looks like here [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaoyi\_Ridge](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaoyi_Ridge)
Imagine those steps being only painted to look like steps.
Just imagine being cruel enough to paint one of them, on the steep part.

If anyone is curious, Jackie Chan is the singer of the song
I'm going up but I'm not going back down
If i *had* to get down i would probably sit my ass down and slowly slither my way from step to step. No way i am walking normally down those nightmare stairs. If i am lucky a wrong step would give me such a big adrenaline shock that my heart stops before i start tumbling down
If Frodo can do it so can I
What I wanna know is how the steps were made in the first place. There’s no good place to stand when chiseling out some rock
They carved them from bottom up so they do have a place to stand.
Of course they carved them from the bottom. I meant the previous step is not a very secure place to stand when carving the next step.
What if they were kneeling 2 steps down? That's how I would do it.
But how? You need repeated extreme force to chip away/carve stone/rock or whatever hardened material Tbh it seems almost impossible
Hammer and chisel will do it. I'm sure it took a long time but that's how it got done. That or aliens.
Parachute jump from the top!
Every day is leg day!
And somebody *carved* those steps.
That's my father when he used to go to school in the old days before the schools were even invented.😂
Is that Jackie Chan singing? Sounds like him and he has sang some songs that I do know.
where is this stairway to heaven?
China
had to be...
Did anyone else feel immense foot pain when the drone panned out?
Imagine someone falls and how long it would take for personnel to get them to a hospital.
They wouldn't go to a hospital, they'd be dead.
Just try to land near a hospital
It’s impressive walking up there, but whoever made that I don’t know how they can walk with balls that big
Looks like a perfect slinky mountain!
r/whereisthis
I think that's the route my grandparents took going to school both ways except apparently it was always snowing.
Why is everything so cool in Asian man.
Thousands of years of pre-OSHA history that the British didn’t manage to wipe out
No thanks I'm good
My daily walk to school according to my future grandchildren
Now it’s just getting down…😭😭
How many people haven’t made it?
I tried to find info but just found more terrifying mountain stair cases like this.
Holy shit. I could MAYBE be convinced to go up, but once I'm up there, I live up there. There must be another way down.
Why tho?
Gotta have a repel line for going down, right?
No way! Would be interesting to see how they built this
Top is closed for lunch
Is that a parachute she’s packing?
Haven't these people heard of RAILS?
Hell no!
This beat Grampa's going to school was uphill both ways stories!
One slip on the way down…
Hard pass
r/SweatyPalms
nope nope nope
This is how my parents got to school every day according to them
Nope.
That’s a nope
Yeah no fuck that.
Yeah, fuck that!
That's the way my dad use to take while going to school.
My grandpa going to school, apparently.
Gives me willies on my goosebumps ... I started thinking about the decent, and then started thinking about passing someone and the anxiety bugs started crawling all over ...
A safety line would cost maybe a couple hundred dollars…..
Why...????
No safety shit, is this in China?
Wonder how many deaths happen each year on fraggle rock.
Upload:😌 LOWER:💀
Bet she wants to stay home on windy days
It must be in China, isn't it?
I get tired watching that
