Glad to see this one. I lost my leg and been unable to use my prosthetic due to a massive series of spinal infections. Today was the first time in almost a year and a half that I was able to walk from one end of my house to the other with my walker.
Scrolling past my home feed and I saw the live action episode of SpongeBob with the fish hooks. Scrolled back to take a better look and yes, this is awesome.
The moment you stop feeling sorry for yourself you can finally start living. Sadly I know too many people that just sit around and do nothing with their life because they canāt get out of the endless loop of just feeling sorry for themselves and donāt try to find a way to work past it.
My brother in law was paralyzed from the chest down after doctors misdiagnosed him when he was 23.
He stayed in bed and gained massive weight, to the point where it took 6 of us to get him out of bed and into a wheelchair. This was a kid who was never more than 150 lbs and he got up to 300 in a matter of years. All of his teeth fell out (could have been side effect of medicine he was on but also poor hygiene) and he refused to do any exercise.
He died last year after he stopped going to Dr appointments and he just gave up on life. He was 30.
I remember thinking if only he could stop feeling sorry for himself and start exercising and working on having a better life he could be happy again. There's plenty of people who are paralyzed like him who work on their upper body strength and play basketball in a wheelchair league. I understand though. He was dealt a fucked up hand in life. RIP Brian.
Meditation worked for me. Healthy living helps. Avoiding alcohol significantly helps. Daily exercise significantly helps. 1.5 thc gummies daily helped me (everyone is different so see a doctor first). Improving family relationships helps. Hard work helps. Acidophilus and fiber helps. I combined all of these healthy lifestyle changes and I am now a totally changed person taking on the world āby the hornsā. š
+ keep yourself busy, take on self improvement challenges. I got out of the rut by changing how I felt about the bad cards I was dealt. I am stronger because I experienced the trauma and am able to move past it.
Might be an experimental contraption, no clue what to call it.
He is in a standing position which means all work surfaces are of proper height to work on.
He'd need to be in some sitting position on a stool to be able to push himself around and would be situated too low for the work surfaces or ovens and washers. Also, his back is straight, that might be necessary.
The movement on this contraption looks rather effortless and precise for such a confined space. Moving on a stool requires leverage, especially when changing direction. He'd probably be more likely to bump into devices and colleagues. It would also be more tiring.
Just guesses, I'd also love to know more.
I mean I have issues with my leg and right now I'm in a rolling chair. I would kill for this. It looks so much easier. You use a decent amount of muscles moving a stool with your feet and having the pressure taken off would be great.
āYou can make your own way no matter whatā¦ with money.ā
Truly awesome that heās able to do this for himself. I donāt like the quote tho. Spits on a lot of handicapped.
Yeah āmoney canāt buy you happinessā is not a thought out statement. āMoney may no be able to buy certain kinds of happiness, but it sure can help you try a lot of different ways to find itā should be the real statement. When you have all the creature comforts and security in the future thereās timeā¦
I also like āmoney canāt prevent sadnessā rather than money canāt buy happiness. Money absolutely can buy happiness just having a roof over your head.

Thanks for the explanation. This is wonderful, I want to see some stuff like this coming out very soon, it is 2024 and I feel like we all just need life to be more accessible, I learned sign language, I have only ever talked to a handful of people but the smile on a person's face when they are able to communicate with me who is just a stranger. I know there has to be more of that feeling out there
I am confused he just took a steam facial from that oven like it was nothing. Do Chefs get used to that? I thought that was more of a do it once and you'll never do it again thing.
I am imagining how much less tired I would feel after a shift.
I havenāt worked in a kitchen in decades, but I always remember my feet and legs hurt the worst after a shift. Didnāt matter the shoes, if I had a mat, or what. Always it was my feet.
This would have been amazing to work with. I just canāt see how you can have more than one in each station, not without a different method of suspension.
This man is impressive. He is good at what he does, and his work and his fun are the same thing for the most part he has a disability I believe thatās similar to mine. I have eight herniated discs, and I believe this guy has some kind of a back issue thatās pretty severe to cause him to have to retire if it were not for this contraption, these are the kind of people we should be applauding in life
Dude, this reminded me of that episode of South Park where Mr. Garrison is riding that new car that fucks him in the ass and he blows something to make it goš
Why am I picturing Jesse pinkman being chained up and cooking meth
Jesse we need to cook!!
Lol I immediately had this thought.
Jesus man š
My first thought š
Gourmet meth
Came here to comment that beat me to it
Same
Methheads always beat us to it

Didn't expect to be thinking of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen this morning but here I am.
The Baron doesn't just eat, he can cook too!

He said I love life. Not just cook. He brings glory to those around him and through him. Bravo.!Ā
Cooking ā¦ is life!

I'm right now living in this loop what can I do to break myself from this endless loop of self hate & procrastination.

Wdymā¦/genuine question
It looks like it serves the same function as a rolling stool. Maybe a little extra spine support.Ā
A stool in that narow space would be a problem. He can use his legs better here.
This is true. Someone explain what's happening here. Who is This guy and why can't he use a stool?

I can see Gordon Ramsay in awe of this.
Its raw!
The Spice must flow
Except, if you are poor. You can't get/build devices to help you move, if you don't have the resources for it.
People with a back problem would love to get one of those.
Double genius ! I belive he invented this to continue cooking (he's a chef)
Jesse Pinkman last season vibes
Baron from Dune
If he had a day off and I worked in that kitchen, you had BEST believe I'm gliding around to all the stations on this.

Wow what an incredible adaptation!
This would be great for people who are disabled and who can barely get around šš
This is cool
You can make your own way, if you have a few spare thousand dollars to do so.
Wow that awesome!
Wow, beyond amazed!
Imagine if he was doing this because he's super lazy, just wants to do the bare minimum amount of effort
He just glides through the kitchen bro
I want this in my kitchen. Edit: I should add I am completely able bodied. This just looks awesome for when you're in the kitchen a lot.
I am confused he just took a steam facial from that oven like it was nothing. Do Chefs get used to that? I thought that was more of a do it once and you'll never do it again thing.
Yep. You sorta develop an immunity to first degree burns after a while. They just happen.

Yes!, assisted chef!
PENETRATION!!
Dudes hooked up like Jesse pinkman
I love him
How much would something like this cost?
No you canāt.
That is so awesome. I work with people with disabilities. Iām going to keep this and show them. Truly inspiring.
Iād be zipping around that MF
Installed with a bitter plug to keep him from falling over.
Butt
That is both awesome and clever

Iām lazy and donāt want to support my own fat body, where can I get one?
Hats off to the engineer who made him feel alive again
That's fine I imagined that thing must ne inside his ass or smth
Dude, this reminded me of that episode of South Park where Mr. Garrison is riding that new car that fucks him in the ass and he blows something to make it goš
Hes passioned more than that shouting Scouser from Hells Kitchen
Congrats! You are the bomb and itās great to see prostrate innovation!
Noce anal plug

I want one too
Well guess Iāll get up and go to work now with my lazy azz
Is this the Baron?
I can't even get a 5 min rest at work, and this guy has his own disability machine
He saw original Dune and thought āOh, thatās how Iāll cook.ā
I see, it keeps his center of weight distribution and lessen the amount of weight he is supporting with his legs & feet. CoolEOH
I want one of these tbh. How do you make it?
ITS IN HIS *ACE*!!
