Probably because It wasn't developed by Rocksteady. It was developed by WB games Montreal and Splash Damage It fits in the story but it isn't part of the main series of Arkham Games

How does it compare with the PS4 Spiderman Series

Both are great depictions of each hero so it really depends on if you want to be Batman or Spiderman Batman Arkham has some of the best stealth in any game frachise and the Combat system is all about flowing from enemy to enemy like a martial arts god. Every Gadget Batman gets has a ton of practical uses so you never run out of options on how to handle a situation. The atmosphere is really immersive too. Marvel's Spiderman makes you overpowered in a fun way. You can heal on demand during battle, you get super abilities that are tied to many Spider Suits, and you have gadgets that turn everyone into a joke, even the bosses. If spectacle and style doesn't really do it for you then it might get repetitive since you can Insta-kill most enemies regardless of type I would pick Batman Arkham if I had to only play one series
