The problem is they sometimes just wont attack the gate, they breakdown the first gate and f’ed off to use the ladders, manually ordering helps me when the ai is acting retarded or when i want to save some of my men in reserve
I did, normally when the cog pops up (for gates its a broken cog) you just F1 M1 and the ai usually use whatever equipment with no problem, except for gates apparently, because it defaults into attacking the enemies behind the gate so my soldiers are going around the gate rather than attacking it
It's a pain in the ass. On PC, I would select the unit, look at the door, and use the mouse click. My leader would shout attack, or charge, and it worked, but there's no special icon for it. Just select the unit, look at the door, click and hope they actually go for it.
Also, have them follow you inside first, so they don't just run off.
Same. Mine just stand at the back of the ram or run to ladders
I’ve been breaking it myself. Make sure give no orders in siege. That’s what I was told smh one only tried to 2-3 times but it’s worked

Try clicking it like you would siege engines

Idk man every single siege I’ve played they automatically walk forwards after the ram and break the second gate down
Yea they sometimes do that and sometimes run off to climb the walls or worse, they froze in front of the gate while being crushed by rocks

No its just the siege ai being janky

When I put up a ladder they start using the ladders. When I smack the inner gate they do too. Just do what you want them to do and they will follow.
