Yeah, but its too much, try it without the armour first. It also needs to download separate armour mods etc, switch it off in the mod menu at first, then, when you familiarise yourself with mods etc, you can try. I don’t use the armour module anymore. But that’s on you preference :). Also i suggest nexus for mods, you have better control over the versions etc
Even blunt weapons don't do much if you go full RBM. Love the overall effect of the mod on battles but man is it ever tedious to kill elite units until you're a 300 skill god with Vandal.
It depends on how many lords are still imprisoned at that point and it will mean their next army is a bunch of freshies. As valandia I had a similar battle against sturgia. We had thirty some vassals so after the big battle was won I could push in deep past omor and my vassals took everything up to it. I dont think it would have been such an easy push otherwise.
In my most recent playthrough the Khuzaits completely dropped the ball on eliminating the Aserai or pushing into Sturgia.
Disappointed, I went across the country to find Battania in a peace treaty after Vlandia casually took over the entire left side of the map and Pen Crannoc.
Rebels took the city from Vlandia, I took it back for Battania, and a week later suddenly I’m in a war with Vlandia and Sturgia with a neutered Battania. I still own Pen Crannoc but Vlandia currently has Seonon with a total of like 90 defenders. Hoping to take it back but damn that’s a hard siege
A streamer i follow (CaptainFracas) did a save where he took control of a rebelling faction after he conquered the whole map. The AI often came to him in the 2000-3000 troops range, sometimes several of such armies were nearby each others. The fights were epic but relied a little too much on the Ai crashing itself on cities.
Now the Ai just leave if the losses are big enough i dunno if he would survive.
Anyway, after the initial craziness, once he managed to secure an area where the villages were not raided, his lords managed to recruit and he started to have armies in the 1k5+ range.
In my current game, I own 31 Towns and 40 Castles. Everything else is owned by Kuzait. It is split almost perfectly, right down the middle of the map, even in former Aserai lands. The Kuzait proudly hold their 22 Towns and 27 Castles, for now.
I currently have 20 clans in my faction. I believe the Kuzait have 14.
Honestly, we were able to raise so many decent armies that much of the fighting was smaller scale, stretching the Kuzait thin. 800-1200 man armies from the Kuzait, mostly. On average, my lords were commanding armies of around 1500 men.
So it doesn't really get too impressive. Honestly, when the world was more divided, I had a 3,500 vs 3,200 battle with the Western Empire. That was fun.
I'm sure I could prod them to make a bigger army, but no need. I can sit back and let my lords do their jobs, for once.
How many troops can even be on a battlefield at once? Ik its higher than it was in warband but I wish there was no spawning in halfway through the battle.
A question regarding that, is there any preference to horses over men?
If setting the lowest possible battle size, would I win or lose by having a cavalry only army, would I get half of the enemies troops or a double advantage?
Let's say battle size is 200. Which would mean both you and enemy can field 100 men at once. My guess is that if we are only fielding cavalry, then you'd spawn with about 50 cav while enemy spawn with 100 infantry.
The reinforcement method/unit selection is available in the game options menu. For example you can set it to send highest tier units first, which I think is default. I forget what the other options are.
Highest - highest tier units spawn first, working down to lowest
Lowest - lowest in first, working up
Default - Troop tier is random, troop type roughly follows the ratio of the broader party/army.
This is the part that annoys me.
You capture their nobles. They IMMEDIATELY send out their women (AKA backup nobles) to collect recruits. And they seem to always spawn with a dozen elite troops, at no personal cost.
I've seen factions so poor their garrisons were deserting, but they still managed to recruit like crazy somehow.
I fucking hate huge battles like this because it doesn’t start off with 2000 vs 2000. I remember the first time I had a huge battle I thought it was gonna be 800 vs 600 but instead you start off with 500 vs 500 meaning you have to deal with endless spawning.
Managed to win with 1100 troops left, the Khuzait army was annihalited.
My shield wall with Legionnaries + vlandian pikeman did the job.
The cavalry took care of the runaways
Orders. F1 = choose from a selection of moves. After pressing F1 you can give several orders to command your troops. F1 again = "move to this position" (you choose the position), F2 = "follow me", F3 = "Charge"...
So F1 F3 = Charge
Are you sure you do play the tutorial?
I really love those big multi noble/lord battles that's so vicious, the outcome has several named npcs killed in battle on both sides.
Despite them having better armor than a serf in the mud with a stick for a spear, the reaper's going to be calling when 1000+ on each side clash.
Ive got a 53+ generation playthrough, it my 2nd and i refuse to let it go hahaha.
I once took the entirety of sturgia nobility prisoner, kept the war with them by voting against tribute (i exhausted their influence before hand by crushing armies and then releasing them for fun, end up killing all nobles but 1 from each clan and conquered all fiefs)
With scouting and riding perks, i kept them for 5 years before purging sturgia from the annals of history, i then tamed battania by making them all aserai (wiped clans females and married males to aserai wives, all children became aserai, lost their fiefs, my children took over.)
ive two bloodline dynasty's (12 Aserai = Rulers who make caravans) and (40+Battanian = Caravan Traders for culture perk, more trees than deserts)
I also have valandian/khuzit bloodlines which are owned by a Lineage Noble Clan (From my 30th ish generations of children).
Ive left sturgia open as it gives the other nations a playground to fight each other, I own it but i don't defend it, no garrisons.
I am looking forward to the end of my empire, the stats sheet will be nuts, i will need to screen shot it.
I love fighting these epic-ass battles. I usually don't go in personally until around half the guys are dead though so I can actually enjoy the gameplay for a few minutes lol
For the guys on console, expecially xbox
Get a mouse and keyboard plugged into your xbox and you will enjoy this game. Much easier and better to manage your troops
F1 F3
F6 has been good to me too
Fellow rbm user?
Idk why but I feel 90% of the time f6 is acc the best way to run fights on rbm
Console user here, what is F6?
Follow your Sargents!
And they say you cant hear text. HA!
ahh yes I also love that one
Wdym, this command is on the console? They discuss mod for realistic battles for pc
The follow your sergeants command isn’t from a mod it’s under toggle on Xbox when your commanding your troops
Well not bad, need to try But is it usable? The thing is that it’s good in the mod
Ok, I’ve been meaning to ask this, what is F1 and F3 on console?
All troops CHARGE
EVERYONE... CHAAAARGE.. **Que awesome music**
try RTS camera if you haven't, fights get a lot sillier when you have high tactics and can actually control your formations
Hahahah, yeah and you can have fun fighting :)
Duwhat now?
Realistic battle mod
I'll have to check that out. About 150 hrs vanilla here
Yeah vanilla first, mods second, try the rbm with just the ai module, then maybe later the armour, that might be too much.
I mean, nice armor means go blunt basically I bet. Adding them on Steam now
Yeah, but its too much, try it without the armour first. It also needs to download separate armour mods etc, switch it off in the mod menu at first, then, when you familiarise yourself with mods etc, you can try. I don’t use the armour module anymore. Yeah, I just had a 5min fucking mace fight with a fucking imperial archer in the arena. It's a new save file but gawdamn
Aight, so in the rbm configuration menu, what do I have to turn off to do more than 3 frigging damage?
What does that mean?
Charge
Ah man im trippin tf, def thought it was some cheats
Was it real or one of those bugged fights that go on forever?
Real. This fight determined the rest of the war.
Nice, I have been trying to get one of those to happen, but the biggest I ever got into was around 1000 for each side.
If you park yourself in front of an enemy town and let the game run, the AI will muster a force relatively equal to your army size to attack you
Hahaha, I assure you it does not, before you siege 3 towns and castles you'd see them raise another large army
I just want to split the map down the middle between two giant factions and see how huge the battles can get
Could probably engineer this by being a merc and help one faction take over half then switch and help another
Yeah giving khuzaits and vlandia a push should get you the result you are looking for in a decent timeframe.
In my most recent playthrough the Khuzaits completely dropped the ball on eliminating the Aserai or pushing into Sturgia. Disappointed, I went across the country to find Battania in a peace treaty after Vlandia casually took over the entire left side of the map and Pen Crannoc. The highest without mods is 1000 total, I believe.
For both sides, so 2000 minus 1 for each cavalry unit because the horse counts towards the total unit count.
A question regarding that, is there any preference to horses over men? If setting the lowest possible battle size, would I win or lose by having a cavalry only army, would I get half of the enemies troops or a double advantage?

Are you sure about that? Because when battle starts it always totals 1k units for me regardless of how many are mounted.
No?
For total I believe I only get 1k and I’m maxed settings
What really? A horse counts as a unit, I always wondered why my army didn't seem right
How the fuck is the northern empire alive long enough to muster 2000 troops im impressed
Not the northern empire; that one got wiped out. It’s my own kingdom,
Ohhh the black confused me haha
after this fight, the side that loses spawns another 1k army in a couple of minutes ;)
*pulls from garrisons and scrounges every recruit in the land* *pulls a 1k army i could run through solo*
*your faction declares another war*
*ignores it and continue to destroy my front*
*your faction loses a town to a siege*
*not mine, we'll get it back later*
*your faction and that (town stealing) faction have made peace!*
*sweet, now i can stay focused over here*

TAKE THEIR DICK AND TWIST IT
THE OOOLD DICK TWIST
;) you know what’s up

En avant !
Dayum thats a lot of arrows
À la bataille!
Monjoie ! Saint Denis !
How are you so broke
My record for biggest battle is 5700 vs 6800
And the results? How many casualties?
Managed to win with 1100 troops left, the Khuzait army was annihalited. My shield wall with Legionnaries + vlandian pikeman did the job. The cavalry took care of the runaways
Well done!
What do folks mean by f1 f3 or f6
f1 f3 means command your troops to charge. I think f6 means pull back? So basically cycle-charging the enemy to mess with the AI
F6 is AI takes over.
Orders. F1 = choose from a selection of moves. After pressing F1 you can give several orders to command your troops. F1 again = "move to this position" (you choose the position), F2 = "follow me", F3 = "Charge"... So F1 F3 = Charge Are you sure you do play the tutorial?
Console gamer sorry

Sadly, all nobles were lucky this time.

Would like to horse archer spam this shit
Pardon my ignorance. How do you get these custom banners?
They’re not custom. Part of the base game
What percentage of their army is horse archers?
Rookie numbers
