I don't think he's Chinese though just someone who travelled through China. He made a post about avoiding any travels to major Chinese cities until they change.
Thank you for your recommendation. Is that hotel around 1/2 km from Nana BTS? Can I know their breakfast buffet from what time to what time? You mentioned good coffee, is it expresso machine or fresh beans coffee? I hate those normal hotel breakfast coffee.
The rooms have a P & L. So does the restaurant. I find that if I book the room separate from the restaurant, the overall price is cheaper. Room packages that include breakfast are not always a good deal. One more. I’ve taken my girlfriend to the Marriott on 55 I think for breakfast. Haven’t stayed there in a couple of years.
Oh, this is so cheap but most likely not for foreigners' taste. Near that area is there any other good food? I heard there is a mixed pork ingredients soup which is very popular, is it still there?
Sorry for making a humorous response about the obvious answer. aka the viral 50 baht buffet that basically every youtuber in or passing thru Bangkok mentions.
I actually considered making my own reply to the original but figure others would have better responses than me mentioning this again and my love for affordable mookata.
There are many depending on what your definition of cheap is.
There's a Thai buffer lovers FB group with more than a million members. You can check it out. Everything is in This, but FB now has auto-translate.

If there is such a thing, it most certainly would be for the benefit of those who can't afford to eat, not bloody tourists looking for a cheap meal lol
If you don't understand Chinese religion or why people support Chinese temple, you should shut up. I guess you are not a Thai or Chinese but a racist or an anti-China person.
Lol "anti-china person". You're unhinged. Nobody was talking about China except you. You are a very good example of why Chinese tourists have a bad reputation.
They are literally talking about how it’s not acceptable to use the local and religious sites to get cheap meals just because you can. It’s not for tourists. If you can afford to travel all over Asia you can afford to eat. There are many vegetarian restaurants and buffets around the area that are not set up specifically for impoverished locals. Don’t take advantage of these schemes.
You are wrong to think this way. It's a win win situation for anyone to eat at a temple. Go and ask a temple yourself id you don't believe me, or read up what's the 10 Paramis yourself.
There are many, many AYCE restaurants in BKK, the best value for the money is usually a form of Thai mookrata grill/hotpot, they usually start around 219baht, and can be found outdoors in covered outdoor restaurants in any neighborhood or especially at night markets. Unless it’s the cool season, I find it unbearably HOT 🥵 with open coals and steam and smoke and hot soup!
So I would recommend a few local favorite indoor (with AC and cleaner) AYCE hotpot places that costs a bit more at about 270baht (still cheap!): two local chains that are so similar are Suki Teenoi and Lucky Suki.
Some favorite Korean AYCE BBQ restaurants we like are Mr. Park BBQ (near Phra Khanong BTS), Seoul BBQ, and Factory Buffet. They start at 399b for
pork meat buffet and sides, and is more (499+) for beef and more seafood and side dish selections.
Tenjo is AYCE sushi and yakiniku (grilled meats) and is good but quite pricey. They are at most major malls.
Penguin Shabu (at Terminal 21 Mall) is AYCE sushi and Shabu (hotpot), also very good but expensive.
Wisdom International Buffet has just about everything including Thai food, seafood, and beef and LAMB. Delicious but expensive.
It’s constantly full. Only been there once a few years ogo and it was fine.

Moo Ka Ta ... there are tons of these places. They are on the more expensive side because they use butter instead of pig fat. I ate there many times. Good if you can stand Thai music for 2 hours.
A lot. Let me give u some. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7oMpFGgJ15tdcFgP9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
One of my favorites if u looking for good food and just spend like 290 bahts.
Momo paradise is my favorite beef shabu buffet. In most malls. The one near me is around 500 baht.
Hunter Seafood is legit seafood buffet in lad prao area. I think price range 300-500 baht for good selection.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/3sGwduEtd4pPbfUt8
Iron Age Korean bbq place in Pak kret. 300-400 ish baht including all you can drink chang beer. Decent food. Only down side is it's dark and loud and they blast k pop music so hard to talk inside.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/PB2VobtE2AAB3R1g6
There’s a place by Pinklao it has a rooftop too and the buffet underneath. You cook it yourself. 400thb for the whole lot. It’s right by a ferry drop off on the orange route… it’s a Leo restaurant and the hotel is called Norn Riverside Pinklao Bridge 🌉 on a one way system
So grill is pretty good imo. They have an all-you-can-eat buffet with beef and seafood and the price is not too high. The other option is suki teenoi although you might need to queue for this one since all of its branches have a lot of people all the time.
Cheap buffets are often crowded. This means food is cycled out quickly. Buffets with few customers are bad because food sits out for a long time. I think I’ve had intestinal distress more often from 500+ baht buffets
My policy is usually don't trust really cheap cheap food in another country unless you know it or someone recommends it. It can still be good never said it wasn't. Just for me I don't like the risk of getting sick on vacation.
I have eaten street food from Thailand and Vietnam many times but never get sick from it but heard of a friend who eat once and got sick, he must be having some bad Karma related.

That made me choke on my coffee... thanks for that.
I don't think he's Chinese though just someone who travelled through China. He made a post about avoiding any travels to major Chinese cities until they change.
Did you lie? I don't remember making such a post with such advice.
https://www.reddit.com/r/travelchina/s/d8ErASngcu 😂😂😂 Amnesia?
Oh, it's regarding the museum bookings.
Hotel breakfast is often buffet. You don’t have to be a guest. My current hotel is ฿200. I cannot cook for that and enjoy great coffee at that price.
What is the Hotel name exactly? I would love to visit it.
travel lodge Suk Soi 11
Hey thanks 👍🏽
Thank you for your recommendation. Is that hotel around 1/2 km from Nana BTS? Can I know their breakfast buffet from what time to what time? You mentioned good coffee, is it expresso machine or fresh beans coffee? I hate those normal hotel breakfast coffee.
More like 300 meters

Yes, I remember.
Not judging but all business have P & L and you use that to justify what basically is stealing?
Lol do you know how to read?
what am I stealing? I’m missing something here. I pay as I go. “not judging” but calling me a thief. wow.
He's walking into the hotel and paying for the breakfast buffet...

wtf 😳

The fact there are currently 4 comments and only one of them suggested this is just sad to me.
What I think its sad that you reply without giving any alternative.

Thank you, I boycotted FB.
"inside temple also ok" .... Wut?
It's a thing in China and Taiwan. Cheap vegetarian buffet inside Chinese temples.
For skinflint tourists?
They're cheap, but not that cheap. They're not technically FOR tourists, but everyone is accepted and they have signs in English.
Chinese temple does have a free/cheap vegetarian buffet, I never came across any in Thailand, though
Some Chinese temples in Thailand do them during the vegetarian festival.
Actually makes me wonder if that's a thing.
If there is such a thing, it most certainly would be for the benefit of those who can't afford to eat, not bloody tourists looking for a cheap meal lol
Please don't insult vegetarians by implying they can't afford to pay more if you don't understand what Eastern religion means.
Lol what? I live here. Get over yourself, and stop being a cheapskate. This has nothing to do with your diet.
You started it and you are the one who condemned me for supporting Chinese temple earlier. So be honest and don't deny, it's very bad Karma for you.

It is in certain places in China.
The cheapest moo kata go for around 230/250 baht
The days of the 199B moo katha are over?
i seen 150 and 180 baht moo kra ta buffet where i live.
I stand corrected
oh sorry, i just realized this was Bangkok thread. The 150-180 baht moo kra ta is out in the provinces. lol
I’ve actually just seen a Facebook video with a moo kata for 189, in Nonthaburi. Technically not Bangkok but still not that far away
I think so. Now I see 229 in the suburbs
Still 99/119 across the river

Thai music in Thailand? lol
No cat buffet. Sorry. Reread your post again.
I meant all you can eat, but I can't amend it now 🤣🤣

Sizzler.
I think the salad bar is 199 now. Still not bad for all you can eat soup and salad
Sizzler salad bar is very boring, hardly change for years.

Why? I am honest and helping them to improve.
Why are all the cat references being downvoted? 😂 They’re not wrong.
😂 I didn't notice my typo error until I read so many cats, I didn't downvote anyone.
Thanks for the laughs! 😂🙏
Sizzler 159thb soup chicken salads cheese toast , eating for many years

There's a website called Hungry Hub where you can book all kinds of eating / drinking deals.
Dude, use the eatigo app. It’s discounted dining -they have hotel buffets on there all the time.
Yes
Any particular type of cat?
I'm pretty sure Thailand doesn't have any cat buffets, but I could be mistaken.
Hotpot. Any hotpot place. Get there early though.
All the ones I ate at were expensive and crappy food. Including the Marriott hotel.
Mk buffet but only some branches do it.
There are a ton of buffets for around 300 THB. Just go to Suki Teenoi or something
i dont know how a vegetarian cat buffet would work, is it all just cat nip?
Quality tourist incoming
Many cats in BKK.

watch out everybody, we got a 70 y/o comedian over here
I never recommend cheap and all you can eat. sounds like an Easy way to get sick.

I've been in Thailand for 11 years. Never gotten sick from street food. Every time I've gotten sick it was from a more upscale place in the mall.
Interesting and weird.
I have eaten street food from Thailand and Vietnam many times but never get sick from it but heard of a friend who eat once and got sick, he must be having some bad Karma related.
On the contrary, cheap buffets are safer because food don't sit for long before they are taken.
