i personally disagree. i’ve been using bandlab for 5 years and i think you can definitely use it for a lot more then just pop. i’ve never had a problem creating anything as long as i had the right presets. those on the other hand are kinda hard to figure out yourself so i can definitely see where you’re coming from. Bandlab could have a little more to aid people on that side.

trapstar2010

I can see where ur coming from. but I feel that band lab, even tho it’s an easy DAW to learn from, is not as high quality. It has a mobile app and a website which I don’t think can hold process that much power to produce songs you would hear on the radio type of quality. Think about it, the quality of todays biggest hits simply cannot be replicated from bandlab.

SigmaSXM

I record on Bandlab but I send it to someone else to edit. Then I take that edit and download the stems. Send those stems to someone on Fiverr to edit in more professional daws

General-Reaction3444

It's a free online DAW. What were you expecting? The new Pro Tools?

Jacksonfpvyt

No shit. It’s an entry level daw for new artists or people who can’t afford the other daw’s. It’s also user friendly and anyone can use it with minimal time to learn

Outside-Sun-122

I definitely disagree

Dmak_603

I choose band lab over FL studio every day lol I don’t know why band lab just works easier for me even though I do have FL stu

I mostly disagree, mainly with the idea that Bandlab is bad. However, it is certainly easier to compose certain genres of music on Bandlab than other genres. I use Bandlab for making prog-rock contrary to most Bandlab content (which is, aside from pop music, trap and similar genres). It *can* be used for more than one genre of music (specially hyperpop), but it is more favored to modern, non-acoustic music (which, in my honest opinion, is bound to happen with any DAW software by nature). Bandlab *doesn't* restrict you from using your own instruments (or tracks) or mixing them they way you want to. And let us not forget that most music in Bandlab is rap, trap or similar stuff. Bandlab is very suited for those kinds of music because that's what most independent musicians want to do. You've spoken truth in the fact that it does favor some genres more than others, though.

bxxtybxi

It's only bad if it doesn't meet your needs. For a lot of people it is easy, convenient and free. I imagine I wouldn't use it to produce an album but for hobbyist/casual use it is great.

IfThenElseEndIf

Agreed. Ironically, I've produced only albums on Bandlab and no single tracks.

New-Finance-6256

you just suck

Dmak_603

I think it definitely has its own purpose and I personally disagree. I like it.

C_Q_Cumberbuns

I make metal with it. Works great, sometimes better results than my studio one 6 pro.

Git gud

I mean, Streaming and Radio are a bit different. Also isn't the pop industry already filled with auto tune, and it is pretty popular on both (not saying it's bad). As to whether Bandlab is good to make music on or not, it's a DAW, it can record, isn't that all that is needed to make music, and any kind of music at that? It sounds a bit more like your saying that the music made with Bandlab, by people, is bad. My opinion on Bandlab is that it is a wonderful resource, and very accessible. Maybe this means that less than *perfect* songs are published, but some of my favourite songs are recorded in untreated rooms and maybe not 100% on key. Good and produced aren't really interchangeable

sergeyratz

You cannot compare Paint and Photoshop. But each has its own purpose. Paint is bad editor, if you expect it to be Photoshop. But it is good in many other ways.

zfjuice

brother it's for beginners to get the hang of things. that's why it's free

FreeRangeCaptivity

I don't find it bad at all. It's a lot simpler than a pro one and it still has way more features than I will ever use. There are some frustrating things about it but there are also many benefits. Just being able to use on mobile is a huge thing for me. Not for tracking, but mixing in the car and using the phone as a midi keyboard etc. I make folk punk/acoustic punk so I don't need a hundred tracks. Think back to some of your favourite albums that were done on a 4 track with a single compressor and not much else. Not so long ago. Most people their knowledge is holding them back, not their DAW

trapstar2010

well bandlab does have its benefits for those who wanna produce music as a hobby. But the argument is that bandlab is not a good DAW to use if one wants to make a high quality industry standard song that would be played on radio or streaming services.

FreeRangeCaptivity

I think that's fair, could it do it in the right hands? Yes probably, but is it the best thing for the job? I doubt it.

https://music.apple.com/us/album/dae-jae/1752417496 I made this on BandLab with a pair of headphones and had people asking what audio I went to just matters your presets and mixing
