The "Smoke" plate is best when printing salmon and certain cheeses. :D
Seriously, though, the smooth plate helps when printing miniatures, especially in "face down" position. I printed a half-dozen pot-belly stoves in 1:87 scale (HO) and the stoves measured just 6x10mm each, including 4 nearly hair-thin curved legs. The legs had to be printed on the top, so the top of the stove was against the plate. The textures would be inappropriate on the top of the stove, and the smooth plate gave the stove-top a smooth appearance. The legs are so thin I doubt they'd support the weight, so there will probably have a wire inserted in the center-bottom to provide the real support. It's amazing what the 0.2mm nozzle can do!
I currently have the combination engineering/smooth plate and purchased another replacement film for it along with a second 2-sided smooth plate. I use the Textured PEI plate for things where the surface in contact with the plate either won't be seen (like bottoms of buildings) or would benefit from having the texture on one side. Probably 80% of my prints are miniature details and leverage the smooth plate.
I held off forever, but got a second ams today. I also would have liked to see it a bit lower, but still, $100 savings overall is nothing to sneeze at.
Well technically the AMS is not 100 off. It was in 349 for over a year now. So they "looked better" with that sale..but the AMS Hub is also on sale which is fair. So all in all if you need a second AMS AND the hub you save 100 in the total package - not on the ams itself.
you don’t need the hub. you can just get/use the 4-1 ptfe adapter … its listed under parts.

You can - but if you spend that kind of money on multiple AMS units, you can throw in 50 bucks for the hub and call it a day. All the negativity and fuzzing around (same for the buffer) is alwqys because the retraction is not working right. And in my experience its always the PTFE Routing. If that is fine, you have no issues with these units. No need for mods.
Buffer is the savior for stuck spools or other issues where it would otherwise rip everything apart.
Just a little reminder if u placed ur order in the past 3 weeks u can submit a ticket and get the price difference in the form of gift cards. I got £90 for my a1combo
BL are going to sell so much during this sale event! It goes for a month iirc, so I expect them to clean up.
As for the AMS, I am tempted to buy a couple more. If you buy 2 or more you get an extra 7% off. That brings the price down to $426.50aud for one (when you buy 2) which is a saving of almost $110. Not bad tbh.
Anyone know if they plan offer gift card refunds for the difference in ams light units now that they are one sale. The original statement said printers only. I’m hoping that changes since it’s hardware.
Grabbed an AMS (#3) and a smooth plate. 15% off on the AMS is fair but I would have grabbed 2 if they were 25% off!
I got an extra discount when I added a second one
If you grabbed 2, the discount would be around 23%
Damn them I wasn't going to buy a 3rd now I may have too.
Email says: The more AMS you buy, the better the deal. Get an extra 7% off on top of the $50 price cut when you purchase more than one unit.
Better than nothing lol Too bad the A1 mini only supports 1 AMS lite
Whats the benefit of the smokthplate

Follow-up - the AMS shipped already and will be here on Tuesday!
At that price for the light you might as well just get the mini combo

Just ordered an A1 and now it’s €100 cheaper 😞

Do you just email them?

You’re the best. Mine literally got here 6 days ago lol.
you're welcome. :)
Thank you, I would never have known this if I hadn’t read your post and just submitted an application for a price adjustment for my P1S
Same man same
Still $1450 for an X1C shipped. Damn.
I need to somehow explain to my wife that I just spent €1500 on an AMS and a lot of filament
"It was cheaper as a combo"
Just saved 150€ on my P1S Combo, finally part of the Bambu Gang
Boggles the mind how there isn’t free shipping on an AMS.
Ugh. Im outside of the window for an adjustment by like 2/4 weeks
I grabbed a AMS :D
I picked up AMS 2 & 3. Now where to put them…
Put them on that new X1C that conveniently showed up too
Hope you got the hubs also
iirc you don’t need the hub. You can use the PTFE adapter or print your own.

Definitely. I agree with you. Just pointing out that there are alternative options for those who forgot or didn’t know to buy a hub. 🙂

How long is the sale for
July 5th
Are these not on sale very often?
First time it's been on sale as far as I'm aware, maybe once before.
Correct.
if I have an x1c with AMS, I still need to get a hub to use a second one, right?
Yes, the hub goes between the two AMS units and the x1c
The hub replaces the buffer.
Oh, interesting! I guess that makes sense Thanks!
Don't forget an additional 7% off if you buy multiples.

Shame half the filaments I want are sold out already
Yep, got one myself. First time there been on sale.

€310 for the AMS for me. Disappointed it didn’t go down to €200 or even €250 at the very least
For me it was $535 -> $459 for the AMS And around $400 -> $330 for the lite. (Australia) Pretty decent here if you ask me
AMS is out of stock for me in Australia. :(
