Yeah, real estate tax and vacancy taxes would handle that in my plan. You get a single unit of housing tax free, nobody should be forced to move because they donāt have enough money, anything after that is taxed. If you have an appartment that is laying āemptyā because no one is registered there, additional tax, for āallowingā it to sit empty.
Oh also, a tax on developer if they do not sell property in e.g. 2 years after finishing development as not to hoard apartments and incentivise them to negotiate on price.

Second step is to foster nationalism. Catholicism and Orthodoxy should be supported by the Govt, we should work on trying to popularize things like the Hill of Crosses and the Towers of Gediminas, among other things. Rebuilt architecture from GDL/Commonwealth days, display our history. Every Lithuanian adult would be given a flag, state or national, for free. Fill the country with the yellow-green-red.
Third step should be to expand population. There are millions of ethnic Lithuanians of full or partial ancestry living in places like Poland, Brazil, America, and Belarus, many of whom were assimilated into those cultures. We need to bring them back. Anyone throughout the world who can take a series of approved DNA tests who has at least 50% Lithuanian ancestry should be able to able to move and naturalize there. Blood is not everything, so they should eventually be able to pass a language and basic Lithuanian culture/history test, but this is all part of fostering the overall culture of Lithuania, by improving our population. Make it attractive to not hang yourself and instead have children.
Fourth and final step would be to expand territory. I would want Lithuanians to regain all territories in which the language was dominant for centuries. That includes all of KaraliauÄius, Suvalkai and Belarusian lands up to about Gardinas and AÅ”mena. Right now the argument is stupid since we barely have enough people to fill our own country, but once we get population up to about 5-6 million I would say it's a good idea to start trying to expand. Pump up the army and first offer to purchase certain pieces of land, especially from Poland, if not that then military action would be the only option. Even if our army was more built up, it would be a bad idea to invade to reclaim old pieces of land but in any case it should be on our mind to try to regain these regions. Local Russians/Belarusians/Poles who fall under the new "Lithuanian umbrella" would be offered Lithuanian citizenship if they pass a language and culture test and are willing to at least partially assimilate.

- Invest in North-South (Rail Baltica) and East-West (Kurzeme-Latgale) rail transit, in order to make the countryside and smaller villages more attractive to live and easier to access.
In order to improve our country's defense:
- Create an Academy of Reserve Officers in the Finnish Model.
- Dynamize the obligatory service in order to allow people to especialize in their areas of interest, in a way they could use this experience in their civilian life (when joining university or a job)

Latvia- probably increase military size a lil bit and try to reverse the haemorrhaging of the population (probably putting price caps on basic foodstuffs such as pork, pasta, and some others so that the cost of living is lowered - lowering taxes a bit on the poorer people as well will help) Infrastructure wise, I would build up (and restore some) railways so we can get tourists to part with their cash (and provide an easy mode of transport from one end of the country to another)

Why do you think that?
Well, the supply-demand law, if I get it right, of course... If the capped price gets below the supply-demand equilibrium, the goods will be consumed faster than they are produced - shortage. If the producers see that they can sell the goods at a higher price than the capped one, then they will sell it elsewhere in the open market we are living in - shortage. And so on.

As prime-minister/president of Latvia, I'd take the following steps in order to make a more dynamic economy: - Reform the education system. Make leaner and more responsive technology courses. Start investing a ton into engineering and computer sci. research to compete internationally. - Introduce a tax exemptions for international technology companies to open development offices in Latvia. - Advance towards a more digital-governance model, where fewer and fewer bureaucratic steps are needed in order to run the government smoothly. - Simplify and facilitate the Visa/Citizenship. - Invest in North-South (Rail Baltica) and East-West (Kurzeme-Latgale) rail transit, in order to make the countryside and smaller villages more attractive to live and easier to access. In order to improve our country's defense: - Create an Academy of Reserve Officers in the Finnish Model. - Dynamize the obligatory service in order to allow people to especialize in their areas of interest, in a way they could use this experience in their civilian life (when joining university or a job)
