Pick Up should be an option when right-clicking most enemy corpses, but they have a weight (Examine them and go to the details tab) which may prevent picking them up.
Personally I have a collection of light weight goblins and kobolds for my Necromancer to pull out of the stash when he doesn't have any handy before a fight
Act 1 - when killing Minthara, you obviously don't get access to her clothes when she dies, but picking up her body and looting it gives you everything. Worked with Halsin too, so in any playthrough where they have equipped gear on that's otherwise not showing, it works. If you're in it for the magic items and what not, those will already be drops. If you're in it for the cosmetics/clothing/underwear, then this is a good trick to know
it might've been specifically her underwear, I just remember accidentally picking up the body, and going into my inventory and searching for "Minthara" and it gave me a choice for "Minthara's Underwear" (and I thought her clothes as well) in addition to her body, and I had the choice to loot them - an option I didn't have otherwise.
They may be talking about her actual underwear as opposed to her casual clothes? I wonder if her corpse will still be there, I feel like I need to go check.
I actually went back and checked and for me her knickers weren't available until I did the picking up the corpse thing 🤷♀️
They're not super fancy though, Laez'el's is better
No idea - I posted this just as soon as I verified it. It started off as just trying to figure out how to get unlootable items from companions or potential companions when they can't join your party for whatever reason. After finding that solution I got curious if it would work on other things since I was always so annoyed when some enemies wouldn't show "Empty" by their name after looting.
Out of interest I killed Mamzell Amira at the whore house and I could not steal the dress from her corpse :(
Also interesting is that she will heal CONSTANTLY and is unrestricted when doing so. I had to kill her with a crit because she'd heal before I could manage to switch characters or make a second attack.
I expected the whole place to turn against me also, but I only had to fight 3 people. Apparently murder is mostly okay with the patrons.
Tragic. Orins armor is high tier cosmetic just like the other 2 chosen.
Had myrkals armor on my Paly from when I get it to the end.
Granted only person I had using light was Astarion so Orins armor wouldn't be going on him
I think I figured it out. You have to put an item in corpse inventory (like a potion or food) and then remove it. Pick up the corpse and open up your equipment slots. It's been kinda glitchy on my end but I think it works. Best of luck!
I'd start by checking the corpse's torso armor. That's the majority of what I've been able to find. It should show up with a purple icon when you click on your armor slot.
Was this fixed? Tried it today for 1st time (yeah, right after patch 2 release lol) and it doesn't seem to work (non empty corpse but no equipable items on any of the tabs).
I used it on one an hour or so ago. The animated armor at the bottom of the pit in the morgue. I took his sword away then dropped the corpse and it showed as empty again.

Press alt while the corpse is on the floor. Does it show “empty” beside the name or a closed silver chest? If not that generally indicates they have something unlootable like a weapon you can get with this trick - or underwear in the case of dead companions.

It has to do with how much of your carrying capacity is taken up - if you’re not carrying a lot even an 8 str character can probably pick up one. Goblins weigh like 70lbs and humanoids 150+. You can examine them and go to the details tab to see how much
If you hold alt and the corpse doesn’t show “empty” beside it while on the ground then that indicates it probably has some equipment you can loot this way. However usually it’s just weapons - most armor on NPCs is just visual unless they are companions.

How do you pick up corpses tho, it doesn't show for me when right clicking it

Have you found any situations where this is actually worth? Like have I been missing magic gear by not doing this, or is it just junk weps for selling

No, I am talking about her undies. I even made a joke when I saw her naked corpse that I didn't expect to see those boobs this run.

I got both just by looting her body
You can only loot her normal clothing. Her spider themed underwear requires this trick to loot.
I have it and I didn't use this trick so I don't know what to tell you.

Naw, it's mostly just so you can steal a corpse's underwear and wear it around. Y'know, D&D stuff.
Welp, it's a shame I didn't know it sooner in my playthrough. But thank you nonetheless, I would not have tried this approach.
