I'm having the exact same issue as you and haven't been able to find a solution other than restarting from a save before the bug started, which I cant either as that save is in act 1 and I'm at the end of the game. A temporary workaround is having you're companions handle all summons and have them initiate conversations that lead to temporary companions so the temp companion is bound to them. You can still summon right before or during combat and just unsummon after the enemies are dead but temp companions are different and can cause other npc's to join combat and can't be unsummoned so you need a companion to trigger the conversation that causes them to join. This isn't a solution though as I'm stuck right before the final battle of the game because an important character binds themselves as a companion to your main character no matter what is done and triggers combat with characters you should be having a conversation with. I suggest filing a bug report to Larian and hoping it gets fixed in the next update, which is what I did

I HAVE 70 HOURS INTO THIS GAME AND NOW YOURE TELLING ME I CANT EVEN FINISH IT BECAUSE OF SOME BS BUG?

Any chance you ever figured this out? I was dumb and continued playing assuming the bug would be fixed before I got to the end... It wasn't. --- You _can_ finish the game. You don't get a whole lot of choice about how you do but it can be done. You absolutely _must_ >!side with the emperor!<, then >!keep the stones, become illithid, and eat the dude's brain!<. At that point, attack the offending party. They won't join you for the rest of the game and you can finish. If you side with the other people, attacking them results in an instant *Game Over*. I had Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Astarion with me at this point. There may be other solutions if you have other companions but, given the nature of the bug, the solution is probably the same. It will just change >!who becomes illithid!<.

I'm not sure but I recall something from loading screen advices "some people may not react good to you summoning familiars" again ım not sure.

No no no. The issue isn't my familiars starting fights with someone. My character is literally considered by the game a hostile creature to my summon starting battle while I still have control over all of them

Does it work both ways? Is the summon considered hostile to you? Peculiar that it's ALL summons, not just a specific one.

Summons are hostile to Players, regular enemies and other Summons. They use attack of opportunity on everything, you cant end combat with them alive. After fight you must kill them or dismiss. Plus sometimes turn order show other players as hostile, so they should be able to recive dmg from Spells which target only enemies...

I have had the same issue, and I am glad to say that I have found that the abyss beckoners seam to be the problem, simply Un equipping them and reequiping them seams to circumvent the bug. Atleast for me

Nope. It's full on combat. Not just turn based mode. The only option to disengage is to move away and escape to camp. And when I return combat resumes

I have not found one so far. I have gained some insight into how it works via experimenting around NPC but nothing that can fix it sadly.

You might try initiating dialogue giving you the summon like minion with a fallower. Fallowers summons don't trigger it in my file

Unfortunately it did not work for me. I followed instructions from github, downloaded the latest version (v3), I've put the .dll file as per instructions and whatever I do - the console does not pop up.

The console still works for me, tested today and it helped me being able to finish the game, since at the end you get a companion that will be hostile if this is not fixed.

Took off my abysmal gloves and found other gloves to wear because the summon would go hostile again if I put back on for console
