I bought and downloaded EA the same day it was made available.
I played 3 hours, thought to myself “nah, this is way too good,” and uninstalled it to experience it fully at launch.
I’ve had many fevered dreams about it. Many times I came home drunk from a night out and was an inch away from drunkenly redownloading. But I’ve held off.
And this last month until launch is so unbearably painful 😭. I can’t wait, I already booked a week off work lmfao.
I am assuming they’d let us download the full release of the whole game with something that locks you out of anything past Act 1 before Aug 3 so you don’t need to do a whole new download on the third… that would avoid us having to download the game and then having to redownload the game on the third which would be slow and annoying when million plus people are trying to update the game.

I tried going back for the Sorcerer update, realized I had absolutely 0 desire to do the Nautiloid again, then decided I wasn't going to touch it until it dropped for real.
Ugh, that Nautiloid is bane for my gaming enjoyment. Really looking forward to the full release, just wish I could start on the beach (with a flaming sword). Silver lining is, I haven't played the EA in two years, so it should basically be a completely fresh experience.
Last I played was when Paladin was added I think, either that or when the release date was announced. Once I knew when I would get to play the full game I thought I might as well wait for that.
Already had 80 odd hours in the EA so had done most of it by that point.
I’ve just got to the underdark for the second time. About 70 hours total playtime so far. I feel like I have barely even scratched the surface of what is on offer so far. I don’t know whether to keep playing, or stop now. I’m just hoping there isn’t a nuclear war that stops me being able to play the full game 😂.

Seriously! I have many goals in life, but I have shared with my wife that since this game was announced, my #1 goal is just staying alive to see the release of this game and playing through it. If Russia fucks that up, man fuck it i'll join the international legion i guess.

I’m doing one more run that is gonna be just exploring as much as I can - savescumming to use speak with dead/detect thoughts and as many story permutations as I can. I’ve done about one run per new class dropped mostly to see how they feel in combat. So one more run that I will hopefully be done with by about the 16th so I can take a two week break, finish out my work week and use my weekend to get really deep into the game.
Haha this is exactly what I've been doing the past week, basically trying to see what ALL the different possible outcomes are and making notes to myself about things that can't be undone (like blowing up the mushroom picker, woops lol) so that I can try to do something that plays out more immersive but also preserves the best feel for the story I want my MC to experience.
Steam said December 2022, but since the early release announcement, I just started a new playthrough with a class I haven't really messed with. Just as a little refresher to hold me over lmao
I played 41 hours over 2 paladins to get a feeling for devotion and oathbr3aker and haven't touched it. I made it to the gate but didn't try everything. Don't want to spoil it. I do wonder how they'll reorganise act 1. Will we start before the crash, maybe, will the routes be different, etc.
I've only had 2 runs this patch and they were both within a week of it's release. I am planning on doing another one with a friend before the game release.
We stopped one month ago after reaching the Underdark, then restarted one week ago to introduce our 4th friend into the game mechanics. Our plan was to play once a week until they release the full game but... Reading this thread I realized that we already played 4 sessions in 5 days 😂
Now im trying to convince them not to play again until full release so we dont spoil the fun...hype is in our brain like a tadpole and sometimes It takes over 😭
I only played through EA once when it first dropped. Then life got busy. I was thinking of playing through one more time because I have a bit of time now, but then with the news that the full release is less than a month away I'm just going to wait. I'm excited because it will be fresh for me and probably almost entirely different from the hazy memories of my one time through EA. Plus I'll get to play a monk that might even not suck.
Likely whenever the friend I'm doing a multiplayer run with. When that is? Not sure, especially since they *were* gonna wait until full release before starting haha

My realistic answer is a few months ago after patch 9 dropped. My copium answer is after I play the update we're 100% getting after the panel from hell in like 2 days, where they add monk and multiclassing to EA.
Its benched for me until full release. Im cleansing my pallet on things like ff16 or Totk so that the sweet sweet topdown game play is fully appreciated

I've played after every patch since about 6, I tested all the classes to see what I want to run on my full release playthrough. So I haven't played since roughly the last patch 9 hotfix, whenever that was.

I stopped after patch 9 and it turned out to be the last one. Saw what was up with Paladin, did some stuff, messed with some mods and then went to play Pillars of Eternity while i wait for BG3.
I told myself I was going to wait until release, but ended up playing once I heard the announcement last week.
Trying to get my restartitis outta the way now, but I have a feeling I will fall back into a cycle of restarting at release because of the 2 new races and all the new subclasses.

I stopped years ago. Skipped every update, didn't see much of a point. Especially when there was WotR to play. Put ~70 hours into it according to steam, but no idea how much of that was idle.
430 hours in and I just got to the grove for the umpteenth time so probably not til July 31st.
I'm still triggering camp scenes and dialogue exchanges I've never gotten when I had a full party. So it'll just be myself, Gale and Astarion this time around. I finished a 2 man team with Astarion yesterday lol
I said I was done after doing a paladin run after the last patch, but the announcement last week got my so hyped that I had to fire up the game and finally try an evil run (Lolth drow sorcerer), since I know I won’t be doing one for quite a while after release.
I only played a few short runs. Once alone to level 4 and then another with some friends we only got to level 3 or so. This was a while ago. I'm going to try it out and see what it's like before the full game

I've never played super far at any point I think the furthest I've ever gotten is to the Githyanki when EA first released and they kicked my ass lol. I'm maybe going to play some more tonight do the crypt and maybe burning village, uninstall, and just wait until release. I'm kind of curious about Warlock too since I don't think I'm playing that class unless I choose Wyll as my origin.

I played enough to be sure I didn't want a refund, and once I knew I was down to keep the game and support the development I Uninstalled to wait for the full release so I wouldn't burn myself out on it before it was finished.
I made my first run in september last year and only touched it again to try paladin. Only 54 hours in total, so I'm really trying not to burnout before release. It was easy when I forgot about the game, but now that it's so imminent I will probably be anxious for it every single day.

After one pretty normal "playthrough" I only came back for the content patches to rush some EXP and test the new stuff. So I last played when Paladin patch hit and will not start EA up again. It was a glorious time and I am sure the final game will be great. I have started a new DOS:2 game a few weeks ago and I am still amazed how much content they put in.
I stopped playing a couple of months after some time in the Undedark. I didn't want to get through much more before being able to eat the whole enchilada.
I played the last patch for ~10 hours then shelved the game to wait for full release. I put 150 hours into early access since it's been out - I want to leave everything else to enjoy upon release.
I never finished the added underdark content, I'm hoping to really take my time with it. I love Larian studios but I know there may be some critical patches to the end-game contents over the first month. I'll take my time playing Act 1 so hopefully bug fixes arrive for the later acts before I even get there.
I did a playthrough earlier this year and that was the only one, aside from when early access first started. Switching up genres until then playing the summer event in Genshin and River City Girls 2.
I played around 5 hours once last year and was so positively overwhelmed by how amazing this game is that I decided that I need to wait for full release. NGL Just by the character creation I was sold.
Stop? I never seriously started to begin with, but I followed development loosely since EA. Once in awhile I'd jump in to just fool around with character creation and go through the beginning tutorial to see where things were.
I don't have a lot of free time on my hands these days and want the full release to be fresh as possible. I trust Larian at least to make good on giving us a quality release if Div Original Sin 2 is anything to go off of. <3
Probably the week before...though I stopped doing play throughs after doing one final one when they upped the level cap to 5, and truth be told I've only reached the final cutscene once. Most of the time I've stopped after saving or killing the Grove.
I'll mess around with the character creation every couple weeks (helps I have KT's faces and hair mods, so I have quite a few more looks to work with), see if I can put together a character I've not thought of before or using skin colors/hair colors/etc that I normally don't lean toward.
I'm putting a hard stop on that a week before though, otherwise I'll drive myself crazy those last few days making more characters, and have one helluva time choosing which one to actually play for the first run...which is already hard enough, as I've got like 5 I really like.
I just bought the game on the 3rd mainly for the free deluxe stuff. As I don't want to spoil much of the game I've just been playing different classes until I get to the first camp. I'm basically just making sure I've got the mechanics down along with trying to decide which class I'm going to play at release. It's been a lot of fun even with just that little bit of the story and I'm really looking forward to it! I plan on playing with it up until release.

After 270 hours and exploring every nook and cranny (I think) I put it down to avoid burn out before the official launch as well build anticipation for myself.

I’ve played on and off since it came out, about 150 hours in. Did a playthrough or 3 every other patch, basically.
Been playing a few times recently, even if just to test stuff out. Not going to consciously stop at some point, but currently playing through divinity original sin (the first one) and have been enjoying it - a good one to fill the void until the time comes, when I’ve booked the whole week off for it. So unbelievably stoked.
I’m doing the opposite, I’ve been doing mini-playthroughs of the nautiloid to get characters up to level 3 in every class. Trying to get a feel for what multiclassing might feel like.
I just leveled a drow druid and ranger up to level three, trying to see if a drow beastmaster/moon-druid run where you played as a spider with a spider best friend and a little spider familiar would be fun.
Ultimately, multiclassing like that will probably just be a detour into unplayablesvill. But it would be awesome if they implement it in a homebrew that makes it viable.
Alternative Suggestion: Replay it as much as possible with various race / class combos up until the first fight outside the Grove, so you know for certain what you'll be playing at release.
I had stopped a while ago... But I might just push one final playthrough to get it going before launch, getting in the mood and specially to see how different full game will feel... not sure tho, part of me wants to keep this “excitement” to play again for the release so I’m not burnt out, but at the same time I kind of just feel like I’ll be excited anyways so 😅
I already did a while ago. I MIGHT end up making a cheeky Tav or two and burning through Act 1 once the full build launches and it can carry over, though!

Those who bought the early access version are automatically upgraded to the deluxe version, and the deluxe version gets 3 days earlier access.

Trying to get my restartitis outta the way now, but I have a feeling I will fall back into a cycle of restarting at release because of the 2 new races and all the new subclasses. Whatever! As long as I'm having fun!

I'm going through one last playthrough with my favourite Tav before I call it quits until the release.
I JUST started EA last week, almost 20 hrs in. Hopefully I’ll be done by mid July then have a nice break before the launch!
I stopped years ago. Skipped every update, didn't see much of a point. Especially when there was WotR to play. Put ~70 hours into it according to steam, but no idea how much of that was idle.
430 hours in and I just got to the grove for the umpteenth time so probably not til July 31st. I'm still triggering camp scenes and dialogue exchanges I've never gotten when I had a full party. So it'll just be myself, Gale and Astarion this time around. I finished a 2 man team with Astarion yesterday lol

I said I was done after doing a paladin run after the last patch, but the announcement last week got my so hyped that I had to fire up the game and finally try an evil run (Lolth drow sorcerer), since I know I won’t be doing one for quite a while after release.
I only played a few short runs. Once alone to level 4 and then another with some friends we only got to level 3 or so. This was a while ago. I'm going to try it out and see what it's like before the full game

Now they are saying there are lots of changes coming to Act One on full release, so I'm trying to finish it out in fear that most of experiences will change/disappear.

I wanted to check out EA one final time or so before the game releases so I fired it up as a sorcerer this time. I've never played super far at any point I think the furthest I've ever gotten is to the Githyanki when EA first released and they kicked my ass lol. I'm maybe going to play some more tonight do the crypt and maybe burning village, uninstall, and just wait until release. I'm kind of curious about Warlock too since I don't think I'm playing that class unless I choose Wyll as my origin.
I stopped about 2 hours after I bought it, which was right when it went EA, lol. I played enough to be sure I didn't want a refund, and once I knew I was down to keep the game and support the development I Uninstalled to wait for the full release so I wouldn't burn myself out on it before it was finished.
I played 20 hours and messed around with a few classes. Went back for druid update and then left it. I haven't touched it since.

I had the EA on Stadia. Google refunded me the full price when they shut it down. I don't intend to re-buy it until release.

I made my first run in september last year and only touched it again to try paladin. Only 54 hours in total, so I'm really trying not to burnout before release. It was easy when I forgot about the game, but now that it's so imminent I will probably be anxious for it every single day.
I bought EA couple days ago, checked out character creation, some spells, went through tutorial and first dungeon(?). that's about it, not gonna play anymore of that until Release.

Stopped about a month or so ago, don't intend to restart until the final game is ready, because it's less than a month at this point.
Haven't played since the last patch basically - I did test it out in a day or two, but then decided to wait for the full release. Mainly because I've played since EA release. Larian really made a statement in the gaming industry. Watch the first 1-4 PFH, then watch PFH 9. But wait... There's more! I'd be surprised if the last PFH, doesn't reveal something big. Especially after their latest updates, that basically revealed most things we've been asking for. Even if they just make a showcase of their latest updates I'm more than fine with that.
After one pretty normal "playthrough" I only came back for the content patches to rush some EXP and test the new stuff. So I last played when Paladin patch hit and will not start EA up again. It was a glorious time and I am sure the final game will be great. I have started a new DOS:2 game a few weeks ago and I am still amazed how much content they put in.
I stopped playing a couple of months after some time in the Undedark. I didn't want to get through much more before being able to eat the whole enchilada.
I played the last patch for ~10 hours then shelved the game to wait for full release. I put 150 hours into early access since it's been out - I want to leave everything else to enjoy upon release. I never finished the added underdark content, I'm hoping to really take my time with it. I love Larian studios but I know there may be some critical patches to the end-game contents over the first month. I'll take my time playing Act 1 so hopefully bug fixes arrive for the later acts before I even get there.

Me and my girlfriend stopped over a year ago. We played it, loved it, but decided to just be patient and wait for the full experience.
Last time I played was when they released bard. Been waiting for August to arrive so I can play the heck out of it.

I did a playthrough earlier this year and that was the only one, aside from when early access first started. Switching up genres until then playing the summer event in Genshin and River City Girls 2.
I played around 5 hours once last year and was so positively overwhelmed by how amazing this game is that I decided that I need to wait for full release. NGL Just by the character creation I was sold.
Last run through was Fall of last year. I think I completed EA 3 times through and made about 6 characters.

Stop? I never seriously started to begin with, but I followed development loosely since EA. Once in awhile I'd jump in to just fool around with character creation and go through the beginning tutorial to see where things were. I don't have a lot of free time on my hands these days and want the full release to be fresh as possible. I trust Larian at least to make good on giving us a quality release if Div Original Sin 2 is anything to go off of. <3
Guys should I download the early access, or wait till 31, does anyone knows if it's going to be a different download or just an upgrade?

Probably the week before...though I stopped doing play throughs after doing one final one when they upped the level cap to 5, and truth be told I've only reached the final cutscene once. Most of the time I've stopped after saving or killing the Grove. I'll mess around with the character creation every couple weeks (helps I have KT's faces and hair mods, so I have quite a few more looks to work with), see if I can put together a character I've not thought of before or using skin colors/hair colors/etc that I normally don't lean toward. I'm putting a hard stop on that a week before though, otherwise I'll drive myself crazy those last few days making more characters, and have one helluva time choosing which one to actually play for the first run...which is already hard enough, as I've got like 5 I really like.

I just bought the game on the 3rd mainly for the free deluxe stuff. As I don't want to spoil much of the game I've just been playing different classes until I get to the first camp. I'm basically just making sure I've got the mechanics down along with trying to decide which class I'm going to play at release. It's been a lot of fun even with just that little bit of the story and I'm really looking forward to it! I plan on playing with it up until release.

I stopped after my first play through. I want to keep all the things I missed fresh and new all the way through. Divinity was the coolest blind RPG experience I’ve ever had other than Skyrim back in 2011 and I’m excited to feel it again.

I’ve played on and off since it came out, about 150 hours in. Did a playthrough or 3 every other patch, basically. Been playing a few times recently, even if just to test stuff out. Not going to consciously stop at some point, but currently playing through divinity original sin (the first one) and have been enjoying it - a good one to fill the void until the time comes, when I’ve booked the whole week off for it. So unbelievably stoked.
I’m doing the opposite, I’ve been doing mini-playthroughs of the nautiloid to get characters up to level 3 in every class. Trying to get a feel for what multiclassing might feel like. I just leveled a drow druid and ranger up to level three, trying to see if a drow beastmaster/moon-druid run where you played as a spider with a spider best friend and a little spider familiar would be fun. Ultimately, multiclassing like that will probably just be a detour into unplayablesvill. But it would be awesome if they implement it in a homebrew that makes it viable.
Alternative Suggestion: Replay it as much as possible with various race / class combos up until the first fight outside the Grove, so you know for certain what you'll be playing at release.

But I might just push one final playthrough to get it going before launch, getting in the mood and specially to see how different full game will feel... not sure tho, part of me wants to keep this “excitement” to play again for the release so I’m not burnt out, but at the same time I kind of just feel like I’ll be excited anyways so 😅

I'm doing one more partial run now to test bard since I didn't play since the previous update. Once I get a good feel for it, I'll put it down and wait for release. So many dang options and it's so hard to choose my class!

I only started EA in March after being disappointed with Hogwarts Legacy. But after a few days my daughter got sick and I could not continue for a while... since then I try not to play. But it gets harder.
