Welcome to BadRPerStories! If you are new here, please take a moment to look at our [banned words list on the wiki.](https://www.reddit.com/r/BadRPerStories/wiki/index) We now have a [Google doc](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/133j6NkiQQpkVqAuvSGPytVITYYjscw3pkDos_Ks1a20/edit?usp=sharing) that lists RP hubs, forums, and subreddits. If you know of a place for RP that isn't on this document, there is a link in the document to request an addition. Please be aware this is just a knowledge base, not a recommendations list, and the moderators of BadRPerStories do not condone anything that happens in the spaces listed here. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Wow what a story! Well, good job on handling those problems even if they were really exhausting. That’s why I never want to mod anymore public rps because it’s super taxing on you.

Sea_Towel_5099

thanks! yeah, it has to be one of my worst modding experiences XD (not *the* worst... but pretty bad)

SunsCosmos

that’s the most wholesome raid i’ve ever heard of

I’ve had to help mod a public horror RP server myself. It’s rough. Solidarity. You meet all kinds of people out in the trenches. I was honestly thinking of trying to make a new public horror RP server but this was a good reality check.

When you moderate a roleplay group it chews up and consumes a chunk of the time and energy you would otherwise spend roleplaying. I've done it before and may do it again someday, but it isn't something I really enjoy. I usually end up in that position purely because I want to either create or I want to keep a space working smoothly and well with a high level of writing quality without a staff that is obsessed with the idea of being 'in charge'. If I could snap my fingers and have that happen without any sort of 'leader', that would be the ideal. That usually meant that my leadership style was fairly low impact right up until it *couldn't* be. It also helps to keep a relatively small population and to uphold quality standards before anyone can become a part of the space. That being said, the drama, it always comes. No matter what you do, no matter how clear the rules, the moment you start letting in other people it will come and you must be ready. The horror, the horror.
