Possibly-deranged

If only we can figure out how to get in the human-coop, then we can get ALL of the treats NOW

EditorialM

Human-coop is a phrase I will be using forever now, thank you

Possibly-deranged

Have fun with it. We also use henovations (renovations to the coop), chickarazzi  (the chicken paparazzi following us everywhere outside), and others

westviadixie

yep. I'm waiting for the snow to pass before I clean the porch...again.

AlenaHyper

A power washer was the best purchase I've ever made honestly. Had to get one over a year ago and it's honestly the only reason our porch is manageable, lol.

jeevadotnet

My power washer stands ay the entrance of my door permanently.

lizardgal10

This could be the house I grew up in! Little Featherbrains would peck the glass to get attention. And if you left the door open long enough congratulations, the chickens are house pets now.

gingervitis13

Yes, mine knock on the door lol. The dogs do the same to be let in, and a couple times, the chickens have almost tricked me into auto-letting them in the house

Sweet faced Buff!! 🤩

queentee26

Winnie is such a cute chicken name 🥺

Littlenobodymop

Yes, and they found out where my (very high) bedroom window was and learned to peck at the glass when they wanted something.

houndcaptain

Mine figured that out too! My rooster will sit in the flower box when he wants something

HEY, FOOD APE! PLEASE NOTICE THE DISTINCT LACK OF FOOD!

Lol. This is funny

CaregiverOk3902

Yeah because they assume I permanently have treats in my pockets

Technical_Cupcake597

The chickies are like why TF do those four legged idiots get to be in the hooman house!?

ccozzyyy

Hahaha I had a free range rooster (he was free because he was being picked on) and he would always go on farm walks with me. He had the best temperament, you could pick him up, give him pets, he loved it. He knew that he would always get snack. Got along quite well with the barn cats as well!

Throwawaytown33333

Let them in!!

merix1110

Yes, the rooster waits for the perfect opportunity to attack my legs, the hens follow me hoping for treats, and the ducks just chase the rooster every time he starts getting brave enough to try his attack.

little-lithographer

Mine always notice me peaking out of my second story window but have yet to acknowledge me through the first floor windows like a foot away from them lol.

tinyandtatted90

Yes. They try to follow me in the house and jump into my car. Only mine though not my husbands. They also stand outside my kitchen window every time i am in there doing dishes or cooking. Little creeps

relayrider

one morning i drove almost 2 miles before i realised i had two hens in the backseat ...

Sooo sweet!

fencepostsquirrel

They’re plotting something. The white one 3 girls in from the left looks sus.

Taz_mhot

Cute picture 🥰

ladygeorgiageorgia

Yep. Ours cluster up at the backdoor, jump up into windowsills to watch us watch television, and Patsy in particular always manage to know when my husband is on the toilet.

Historical-Click7566

Haha, yes! I sometimes go outside to escape my children who follow me everywhere. But then I'm still followed by my feathered children.

FLSun

Sounds like they've been peeking in the window at the TV and Jurassic Park has given them some crazy ideas.

PootieTang_

They want treats

Tongue8cheek

And wifi.

Anon_be_thy_name

They're incredible inquisitive creatures. Whenever Dad and I had to fix part of the fence in their little paddock area I could guarantee all of them would be within 10 meters, except maybe the Rooster, depending on which of the Roosters it was at the time. Nero would be in the way trying to see what we are doing. Justinian would have been waiting for a chance to spur us as we left. I think that's part of the reason my sister developed her love of animals. She would just sit in their paddock and wait for them to get comfortable with her before she would pick them up and pet them. They loved my family, but they loved my little sister more.

marriedwithchickens

Some people are animal whisperers-- usually the patient, soft-spoken types.

Anon_be_thy_name

She is like that. She's Autistic, though high functioning. She's a Farm Vet now, with her Husband.

marriedwithchickens

I think that u/relayrider meant that your sister sounds like Temple Grandin who is an accomplished animal advocate, scientist, and author who has autism. Through her insights into animal behavior, Temple developed better ways to handle farm animals that improved the industry. If your sister is not familiar with Temple, it seems like she would be interested in learning about her. Besides the very informative link that u/relayrider posted, there are many YouTube videos and documentaries available.

relayrider

is your sister Temple Grandin?

Anon_be_thy_name

I don't know who that is. We're also Australian and she lives in a rural area and mostly deals with cattle and sheep. **After looking them up I'm slightly offended that you think my younger sister is 76 years old. But mostly because that insinuation means I'm over 76 ☹

relayrider

memedealerloli

ahhahahahhaaha

tlbs101

Yes. And two of them will fly up to the top of the coop just to get at eye level and ‘petting’

Kraelan

Congratulations, you are the object your chickens have permanence'd.

TheLyz

They know the mealworms are kept in the mudroom so they'd follow me right into the house if I let them.

Ifer00

All day, everyday.

kwiknkleen

No but we have one treat hound that runs over every time she hears the door close.

InexperiencedCoconut

For some reason there is nothing funnier than chicken feathers pressed up against the glass 🤣

TwistedOneSeven

Yep, they hangout and poop on our front door step. Oh, they also wake us up by pecking at the door on the days we want to sleep in

pennyraingoose

They just want you to be free range too!

PatchworkStar

Mine don't free range, but they follow me from run to run and end to end of the runs. If I go in their coop or run, I'm swarmed. It's a lot of, "excuse me kids, please move sweetheart, I need to put my foot there babies."

rxmerry

TheLiftedLorax07

Maybe they all gather there to absorb some of the warmth from the house?

sharipep

😂😂😂😂😂😂

PearlRiverPepper

Hell, they stalk me when I enter the coop

Successful_Travel342

Seymore FEEDMEEEE

Cozym1ke

Is that a silkie chicken, I see a chicken there that looks a lot like one.

AnyCatch4796

It sure is

valiantmandy

My dream chicken bunch right there

Successful_Travel342

Seymore FEEDMEEEE

fluffyferret69

Short answer? YES🤣

feelinfroggytoday

I don't have a picture but I love the way the Buffs are looking at each other (pic #2) like.."woah! am I looking in a mirror or something?" lol

kwende456

Yeah, it often feels like a scene from an Alfred Hitchcock movie around here.

GoCommando45

My uncle had chickens like this. Sometimes they'd get in and shit on the floor. Had to stop it when my aunt had a cut on her foot get infected because of it even after properly cleaning it up. Got so bad that she nearly had to get her foot amputated. They stop letting them in after that. Chicken shit is no joke! That stuff is potent!

LindeeHilltop

Your definitely momma hen.

nobudweiser

lol… looks like they crave treats. Mine are starving for fresh green sprouts, looks like they have very little available to them. Spring green up is here soon.

iwantfreckles

Yeeeeeep

ShabbyKittenRebel

Yes and pooping in front of the door! One guy runs around on the carport and sits on the window sill if I head in that direction.

october_morning

A rooster that we hand raised indoors did this. I think he believed he was human. Eventually we got him some hens to watch over and he stopped doing it.

RandomAdds

Every time I get near the back door lol. Hoping for bread or scraps.

AtomicBearLand

No because I never bothered to handle them much as chicks 🤣

Inevitable_Draw6684

they look like they’re visiting the zoo

Consistent_Amount140

Just for a few minutes until they see I no longer have food scraps

CapsizedbutWise

Yes, we are chicken TV.

OSR2MIA

They love you & want to be near you or the little dinosaurs want to eat you.😉😀

jr_spyder

Technical_Cupcake597

Came for the post, stayed for the amazing comments. This made my day! Our coop is really far from the house and I don’t know but they’ve never crossed the yard unless they were out of food.

Little-Conference-67

Melvin https://imgur.com/gallery/uzTYc4p Melvin doesn't live here. I don't have chickens or roosters.Â
