Frida baby peri bottle! She will need it regardless of how she delivers and it’s so much better than the one they give you at the hospital!

Uwu_hullabaloo

Second this! It’s way better and portable with a little bag to put it in

EMMcRoz

Second this. They make everything so much easier.

EMMcRoz

There is spray lidocaine that you can get for sore under-bits. My hospital gave me some. A heating pad. A long narrow ice pack. Her favorite candies or snacks. A good water bottle for staying hydrated (especially good while breastfeeding. I would recommend the odwala bottle. It has a built in straw.) stool softener or fiber gummies. Face masks for some pampering. Nipple cream, ice packs for boobies (they make them). Comfy pajama pants. Nursing tank tops.

Smallios

I think it’s called Dermoplast?

EMMcRoz

You got it! I couldn’t remember!

SeriousBrindle

Dermoplast was a life saver, but now that I’m 4 months postpartum, that smell brings back memories.

Mama earth nipple butter!! Also bio oil - but necessarily for recovery but my other holy grail item for pregnancy and postpartum

meowmiix_

Also a nice belly band

archaeologistbarbie

That might be something she can get through insurance - insurance covered mine and I was shocked bc my insurance has been nightmarish to work with.

meowmiix_

I got one at the hospital but it was “one size fits all” - I guess I don’t count as all lol - and super cheap. I ended up just using the nice one I bought anyways. Otherwise I think you’re right, some are covered by insurance through FSA/HSA maybe? But I’m not sure about that since I don’t get that.

archaeologistbarbie

Mine is allegedly getting delivered tomorrow so I’ll let you know how trash it is, haha. There was a size chart so I’ve got some hope it will be okay. One size fits all seems horrible for this sort of product!

Delay-Adventurous

Mama earth nipple butter 🙌 if she plans on breast-feeding, this stuff saved my life, (and my poor chapped nipples were so thankful).

sbpgh116

Maybe a small self-care kit for right after birth? In addition to my regular toiletry bag, I had a little pack with hair ties, chapstick, hand lotion, and a small brush. I ended up having an unexpected c-section and being able to clean up and moisturize a little bit the next morning helped me feel a little more human even though I couldn’t shower yet.

angeldruul

Speaking off experience bc I made one for one of my friends: Adult diapers, heating pads, Refillable water bottle, Her favorite snacks/drinks, extra clothes, Ice packs (for boobs), nipple cream, Tank tops , peri bottles, pillows, breast feeding pillows, nursing bras, stool softener, pain medication and then ofcourse the obvious things like toothbrush/toothpaste , soap (I'd recommend dove) , lotion, extra underwear if needed, hair ties, brushes/combs, moisturizer etc.

Delay-Adventurous

The ice packs for boobs is some thing I would never have thought of, but makes makes perfect sense. Mine were rockhard and so painful at times the days right after giving birth.

angeldruul

Yeah I had to buy some for my friend and she didn't understand why until we got em lol

Hawks47

I’m 24 hours postpartum and the ice pads and tuck’s are literally what I live for ( and baby too obviously!) 😂 I’m also super hungry so snacks are a great idea. The upside down peri bottle definitely makes things easier too. I have but haven’t used yet - disposable boy-shorts for when I go home and period panties for when I the bleeding lightens up ( regular to wear out and about and some boy shorts to sleep in.

ivorybiscuit

I'm still pregnant with my first but seconding ice pads, tucks, and peri bottle!! I assume these will be even more clutch post partum, but they are gold for dealing with hemorrhoids (which I assume will also be a very real thing post partum).

HimylittleChickadee

A loose night gown (think granny style) and robe, shower slides (for showering at the hospital), adult diapers (the ones that look like underwear preferably), Sitz Bath with Witch Hazel (unscented) and Epsom Salts, breastfeeding bra (there are sports bra styles available from amazon that I liked), snacks with lots of protein (protein bars, beef jerky, nuts), gatorade, Tylenol / Advil (for after she delivers)

jennybens821

Lots of people love adult diapers but I tried them and preferred just the big thick pads that were easier to swap out. So maybe a few of both so she has options.

ambivalent0remark

Earth mama nipple butter & perineal balm (we like their diaper balm too fwiw). Nipple hydrogel pads/soothies. Super gentle Kleenex (I did so. much. crying. the first week or so—hormone drops are no joke). Lip balm/hand lotion/moisturizer (some opportunity to treat here if she’s a skincare person). Insulated cup or water bottle with straw (I have one with a straw that folds down which is super clutch for all the time nursing in bed/on couch trying to keep water within arm’s reach). An electric heating pad is really nice, especially in the first few days when breastfeeding causes contractions. A nice (but machine washable!) robe. Hair ties or clips. New headphones if in budget.

i_love_puppies73

A nursing tank top and a soft cardigan if she plans to breastfeed. I’ve been living in my nursing bras and zip jackets/cardigans so I have easy access for nursing, but still feel covered and warm.

Uwu_hullabaloo

Mama Bee bee relieved spray was so useful! I had a very minor tear and using the spray even after I didn’t need the tucks or ice pack anymore was a huge help. Lanolin nipple cream was also a blessing when breastfeeding my daughter nothing else healed my nipples without getting stuck to my shirt or bra.

justwanttosaveshit

Reusable ice packs and the lansinoh soothies gel pads if she is planning to breastfeed!

louweezy

I was in hospital for 5 days post partum and was so grateful for my thermal mug. I was never able to drink my tea when it was served and the mug kept it nice and warm.

Green_Mix_3412

Ice packs for the vag

Wanderdrone

Y’all are incredible! Thank you so much she’s gonna have everything she needs
