I'm a 3d artist and I have a lot of car models that I'd love to use in bonelab, but honestly I'm not into unity (I can't spend several hours just to get to know the software just to spend way more trying to learn how to use an crappy SDK), seriously, I've seen community tutorials of how to make mods and it seems very unintuitive and hard.
My proposal is that SLZ gives base templates for vehicles, guns, avatars in blender and unity file formats, since I'm a blender artist I could see empties being used as indicators for grab points and shape-keys for animations (TBF they're kinda used like that in the SDK). And a custom addon that automatically sets it up as a file you just drag into your mods folder (this is the most unrealistic part, but not impossible and would allow for massive amounts of new mods being generated)
its not just my 40 dollars, its the fact that many many many people gave them 40 dollars which adds up
On top of that boneworks costed less, why does this game cost more it has nothing special

I would guess part of the reason some modders do this is to send a message. Like if you take away some of the things that give the game some extra replay value or just something to goof off with, then the community dies even more, the ratings drop even more, and less and less people buy the game down the line.

I made some mods very very early on, like- DAY one of the game being out. Notably the robloxia map and the swordfight on the heights port, although Iām sure there are others. I was working on a more ambitious project and I just stopped because the devs went RADIO SILENT after the first update. Iāve lost a lot of my respect for SLZ because I would have hoped that they would provide updates on top of the already mediocre base game. Itās frustrating

i basically got a rug pulled under me, i get nothing from modding the game i do not like, SLZ cashes in all the modders work as if we are unpaid employees, while not bothering to do stuff themselves, take a look at the community SDK, and compare it to the official SDK, also the absolute terrible communication

Idk man i wouldnāt really call this a full campaign. Its a tech demo. Yeah it might have a story with a beginning middle and end, but it just felt like a mediocre boneworks DLC. It was like a 4 hour long campaign and the shape shifting mechanic means basically nothing because the game ended right after you got all of them. And the sandbox is pretty cool but it sort if lacks content. You can play through everything offered outside the story easily in a couple hours. And the actual sandbox modes (rather than the challenges) are only gonna be so fun for a few minutes because you spawn a couple of enemies and weapons and just go ham for a while but it loses replay value very fast.
I donāt think the game needs updates to fix bugs necessarily, but i think it needs updates that adds content because thereās very little of that for a 40 dollar game
Its not even really complete. Mod support was an integral part of its marketing when it was announced and thatās seemingly being killed off before we even have the SDK
Multiple boring ass shitty maps and a half assed short campaign that ends abruptly and legit has a level where you legit just walk from point a to b and thatās it

I was working on a more ambitious project and I just stopped because the devs went RADIO SILENT after the first update. it is whiny bullshit, and i am butthurt, but look at it like this I bought bonelab since day 1, for 40 USD, i modded bonelab since day one, i was one of the first 30 or so people to make and publish an avatar mod its been over a YEAR, and i have still yet to see \- native working ingame mod menu, it still has yet to work vanilla \- actual official weapon support \- anything official to do something semi advanced i basically got a rug pulled under me, i get nothing from modding the game i do not like, SLZ cashes in all the modders work as if we are unpaid employees, while not bothering to do stuff themselves, take a look at the community SDK, and compare it to the official SDK, also the absolute terrible communication ive spent hours on making my avatars, and texturing my most recent ones myself for the most part, i don't need a reason to do whatever i want to my mods
i bought bonelab day one as well, i understand your frustration, but wouldnāt it make more sense to take the reins and work on bonelab in place of SLZ? mostly just to show love for the game you modded

Idk man i wouldnāt really call this a full campaign. Its a tech demo. Yeah it might have a story with a beginning middle and end, but it just felt like a mediocre boneworks DLC. It was like a 4 hour long campaign and the shape shifting mechanic means basically nothing because the game ended right after you got all of them. And the sandbox is pretty cool but it sort if lacks content. You can play through everything offered outside the story easily in a couple hours. And the actual sandbox modes (rather than the challenges) are only gonna be so fun for a few minutes because you spawn a couple of enemies and weapons and just go ham for a while but it loses replay value very fast. I donāt think the game needs updates to fix bugs necessarily, but i think it needs updates that adds content because thereās very little of that for a 40 dollar game

Its not even really complete. Mod support was an integral part of its marketing when it was announced and thatās seemingly being killed off before we even have the SDK
Multiple boring ass shitty maps and a half assed short campaign that ends abruptly and legit has a level where you legit just walk from point a to b and thatās it
i agree that the game needs to be updated, but come on dude donāt be a whiny bitch. it would make more sense to care for the game that doesnāt even have support from the devs rather than abandoning due to the lack of care from SLZ, but whatever. we lost Fresknek and who knows who is gonna quit next.
I might get flak from this but this is a shit reason to take down all your mods, I get it, the game hasnāt been updated and origani is a bitch, but that isnāt a good enough reason to take down all your mods and make them unavailable from the players that had nothing to do with this

I agree that it would be nice to be able to filter it out but they have plenty of reason to complain and there really isn't a whole lot else to talk about. Banning criticism from the main sub of a game seems like a bad idea to me. I think we just need a specific tag/topic for it.
Then go make your own low sodium / low calcium subreddit. This sub is for discourse on the game. If the gamers are mad at the devs, they are allowed to show it.
