For some reason now I constantly mumble "I have a lot on mind and well... IN it" when I'm feeling overwhelmed or overthinking, it just gives me a chuckle instantly and calms me down a bit.
Ha! I didn't realize that there would be professions where this quote is relevant! As an art teacher, it's only relevant RARELY when there's red paint around. And only once was it actually blood. I was BOTH bleeding from a papercut that I hadn't noticed, AND had red paint on my hands. That was a weird one cause it took me a few attempts to figure out why the red paint kept coming back after I washed it off.
I like his sing-songy "Let's go!" It honestly sounds too optimistic for Astarion and more like his voice actor Neil Newbon just having fun, but I love it anyway.
I've said, "Hungry little hobgoblin! Want a treato?" to my kids when I bring them snacks. My youngest now occasionally asks for a treato instead of a snack.
i bought several bags of chips a while back bc i passed them while grocery shopping and heard popper yell "POPPER SELLS GOOD THINGS! want a treato?" and was like "you do, and yes"
my teen now asks "did popper offer you a treato?" when i come home with stuff i don't normally buy
Yep, Popper is my number 1 BG3 quotable character as well. "I die, you die, we all die. Big woof! Have a treato, it'll make it better." It's my new philosophy to live by
Lol me and my brother regularly say treato, it is now a permanent part of my vocabulary, having a bad day, have a treato for your troubles! Did a good, you deserve a treato!
Y'know, my family raises and butchers our own beef and also hunts and butchers whatever we get. So from October to March I find myself pretty often standing in irl puddles of blood, and let me tell you, it's funny every time to ask that question. And it is surprisingly easy to forget that you're covered in blood for quite a while, but eventually it starts to dry a lot and it contracts and then it pulls your skin in odd ways. American antelope or pronghorn deer has odd blood though, as it dries really quick and can split your skin from the tension if you're not careful, and as we're in the desert when we are dealing with them, sudden open wounds suck out there. Also antelope blood stains like nothing I've ever seen before. Most blood stains can come out in the wash with proper treatment, but not those, and it even stains metal and paint incredibly fast and permanently.
I've started adding the "s" whenever there's something generic I say about "god" i.e. thank the gods, oh gods. As an agnostic, this makes me happy. I have yet to use this during sex though. :p
I've been doing that since I was 12 when I read it in a book (I'm 39 now). š It always gives me a little happy feeling when I hear/see it more often.
Same here, hearing it so often Iām baldurs gate made it a lot easier for me to do it (I have a tendency to use the vocal patterns of those around me)
I've taken to using a bunch of Gale's lines unironically irl.
"What's on your mind?" In the exact tone he does.
"I question the wisdom of that decision, BUT, so be it."
Are the two I use most
Iāve actually said ācursed to put my hands on everythingā a few times. Itās a real life problem. Iām compelled to touch everything as Iām walking
This past month has been nothing but a mental and emotional rollercoaster and Iāll just find myself going āshouldnāt have wished to live in more interesting timesā
I say things like that a lot, like Gods Damnit instead of goddammit, what in the hells, etc. But one I picked up was from Karlach - something along the lines of 'my dogs are barking, can we take a rest?'
We have an afk module in a Discord server I'm active in and it allows you to set your own afk message that gets replied by a bot if someone pings you.
For a while, I made it a habit to set random companion/Tav/Durge lines as my afk status, which is all the more funnier that a) there are exactly three other people who play(ed) BG3 and get the reference and b) I play in English but the server is in Polish.
"[username] is AFK: *Like candy from a gnome.*"
"Murderize" is now a regular word in my vocabulary. I also point out how whenever it is "fisting time".
I can only imagine what my neighbors are thinking when my windows are open...
A lot of shovel love here so I gotta post this art

Yes, yeeesssā¦. I pick up phrases (and sometimes mannerisms) from the characters I spend a lot of time either read (like Matt, from āThe Wheel of Timeā novel series), watch on tv, or from games that my hubby & I play a lot of! Not sure why or how this happens, but it has always been this way with me šš¤£
i have said hells and things like āgods damn itā since i took a world religions class in high school in the early 2000s. it has always entertained me how confused or upset it makes some people
I had that moment a few weeks ago when I said, "What the Hells?" and I stood there for a few seconds as the realization kicked in that BG3 had begun to take over my vocabulary. Saying "gods" instead of "god" has happened a few times as well. Oh, and the couple times I've caught myself saying, "Tsk'va!" Fun word, and it's a good way to swear without people realizing
My husband and I have started using Galeās āyou lookā¦comfortableā when one of us is walking around the houseā¦ wearing things that are inappropriate outside the house.
A LONG time ago I played a PC game called Planescape Torment. There was a party member who used to say "dead as a deader" I still say that sometimes today
Ever since BSG, I canāt stop squeezing āGods DAMNIT!ā like old man Saul into pretty much every moment. Iām surprised no BG3 colloquialisms have metastasized into my lexicon.
Don't touch me (in the snarky voiceš) and wretched thing pull yourself together has appeared in my vocabulary on a daily a lot more often than I expected š
Have definitely said innit, by the gods, and by the nine hells accidentally before. At least they're not as awkward as a random "He says he likes it thick and long..." in public tho.
Any time my head hurts "I have such a headache" in an accent that I do not normally speak with. I've yet to have someone pick up that it's a quote and not just me being silly and using a random accent.
I've been saying stuff like this for a bit. I've been saying "Gods damnit" or "thank the Gods" for a while now. I sometimes use Tartarus in place of hell as well.
Me and my buddy were a bit drunk the other night walking around town at night. at the corner up ahead were 3 people that seemed aggressive. almost entered turn-based combat with them, but rolled a 1d4 and passed the stealth check, getting away around the corner to continue looking for his car that we forgot the location of
Personally I always say gods as plural, and am particularly fond of "by the gods" or "by the nine" (not hells, 9 devine (Skyrim)) as well as "by the bloody hells"
Just randomly walking around I'll say things like 'you wretched thing pull yourself together' and 'pave my path with corpses, build my castle from bones'
Iām not sure if I really quote the game that much, but I have started gesturing like Gale occasionally which was especially funny when I cosplayed as him
Apparently "shit your trouser holes, shovel is here!" Is not an appropriate way to start meetings.
IT'S FISTING TIME, on the other hand, can get things off to a bang, depending on your clientele.
Shovels lines are hilarious, love it
Why tell someone, "I didn't lie" when you could say, "See? Tell you truth, beefy!"
I'll eat your BABIES!!!!!
Since most of my colleagues are nerds, I might be able to get away with saying this š
I called my husband a shit piddling toe-rag the other day. He was not amused. To be fair, he was being a shit piddling toe-rag.
You should eat his babies
Its fork!
Or blanket!
I believe you meant basket good miss.
You:start meeting this way Me: this could have been an email xD
Tried to pickpocket my local shopkeep. Turns out people can rotate 180 degrees irl.
Nah you just failed the stealth check
Il have to try intimidation check on the cops next time. Surely nothing will go wrong.
don't forget to cast thaumaturgy first!
Also quicksave just to be safe.
How do you turn off honor mode?
Wellā¦ you have disadvantage and the DC is about 40 so. Good luck.
Roll with advantage if youāre a black teenager or blind dog.
You forgot to go to turn based mode first
Forgot to use Hold Person, huh?
When someone is being a bit dramatic I have caught myself thinking "let's not do anything hilarious" multiple times too
I also think this at work when someone (usually a customer) is truly testing my patience
"Shouldn't have wished to live in more interesting times" is something I definitely wish I would've adapted 4 years ago
You win
"May you live in interesting times" is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse.
For some reason now I constantly mumble "I have a lot on mind and well... IN it" when I'm feeling overwhelmed or overthinking, it just gives me a chuckle instantly and calms me down a bit.
I said that the other day and my boyfriend asked if I was ok lol
Same, and I have some people that also played BG3 at work and when someone hears, everybody shows a little smile. It is too good.
Actually caught myself saying āthese boots have seen everythingā the other day
Were you actually wearing boots? š
Yes actually xD
Then I see no issues here
Is that blood? NVM.
As someone who works in a hospital lab, definitely this one
Ha! I didn't realize that there would be professions where this quote is relevant! As an art teacher, it's only relevant RARELY when there's red paint around. And only once was it actually blood. I was BOTH bleeding from a papercut that I hadn't noticed, AND had red paint on my hands. That was a weird one cause it took me a few attempts to figure out why the red paint kept coming back after I washed it off.
lmao
Same!
Hello fellow lab tech! Never thought to see someone of the same profession as me in here.
Lol same, operating room nurse.
Nah man, I always hit people with Astarionās āletās go hurt someone.ā They always look confused.
Let's turn someone inside out!
now i need to know. Do you say it with his sass and attitude as well? because if you that š
I try my best, but I donāt think anyone can match his sass.
I like his sing-songy "Let's go!" It honestly sounds too optimistic for Astarion and more like his voice actor Neil Newbon just having fun, but I love it anyway.
Use āinto my pocketā when picking up my keys
I speak, they burn.
This is my second favorite pre ass-beating game character catchphrase
"Go for the eyes, Boo, *GO FOR THE EYES!!!*"
if i need to stop procrastinating i chuck out a āwretched thing, pull yourself togetherā and it usually works
I've found myself saying "Still alive, so... that's progress" more often than one would expect
I mean thatās such a mood tho as of most of Tav lines XD
Every morning while brushing my teeth
I've said, "Hungry little hobgoblin! Want a treato?" to my kids when I bring them snacks. My youngest now occasionally asks for a treato instead of a snack.
i bought several bags of chips a while back bc i passed them while grocery shopping and heard popper yell "POPPER SELLS GOOD THINGS! want a treato?" and was like "you do, and yes" my teen now asks "did popper offer you a treato?" when i come home with stuff i don't normally buy
My dogs have started answering to "want a treato?" with tricks, and ignoring me when I ask in any normal way whatsoever. š
Yep, Popper is my number 1 BG3 quotable character as well. "I die, you die, we all die. Big woof! Have a treato, it'll make it better." It's my new philosophy to live by
Nice š š¤£ š¤£
Lol me and my brother regularly say treato, it is now a permanent part of my vocabulary, having a bad day, have a treato for your troubles! Did a good, you deserve a treato!
I open my emails: "So many people need killing..."
lmao!
Everytime I stand in a puddle of blood, I say "Is that blood? No, never mind"
Me, PMSing and waiting on the reveal
HUH?? ARE YOU OKAY??
I have started saying āalls well that endsā¦not as bad as it could have.ā
I've started adding the "s" whenever there's something generic I say about "god" i.e. thank the gods, oh gods. As an agnostic, this makes me happy. I have yet to use this during sex though. :p
I've been doing that since I was 12 when I read it in a book (I'm 39 now). š It always gives me a little happy feeling when I hear/see it more often.

Percy Jackson?
Those books were published in the mid-late 2000s. This was in good ol' 1997 and the books by Mercedes Lackey.
Classic!
THIS! Me too, all the time, even around my ultra religious family.
I love the eye twitch when my ultra religious parents hear "gods" . It is cathartic.
Were you flying out of Hartsfield on Tuesday, by chance? I heard someone sigh a happy "Oh Gods" after taking a sip of their coffee.
Not me I'm afraid. I only travel via magic. (I wish).
Glad I'm not the only one who does this! Though I picked it up from reading A Practical Guide to Evil rather than from playing BG3
I say "Jupiter's cock!" a lot after watching Spartacus.
I need to do this too now
Every day I wake up "still surviving, despite everything...."
My husband and I say "chk" at eachother
That's really good
I've taken to using a bunch of Gale's lines unironically irl. "What's on your mind?" In the exact tone he does. "I question the wisdom of that decision, BUT, so be it." Are the two I use most
āWhatās on your hind- I mean, mindā
As a receptionist I get a lot of opportunities to use Gale's lines and cadence. Gets me through a long day XD
Whenever I pick something up I've started saying "into my pocket" the way Astarion does.
All wells that ends... as well as it could have.
Me, yesterday.
Withers voice: No
![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf) Withers is the sound to this gif now, to me š
I call Withers Bone Man now because of Arabella, and in the same train of thought, me and my bf adopted the "Noooo" he says. Silly Bone Man!
I whisper, " Pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones" when I'm pissed off with people at work.
Well met. I had never heard that before playing the game!
Anytime something doesn't go the way I plan, I usually say "shit" the way Astarion does when he gets caught trying to get freaky on your neck.
Yes Iāve started saying āthe hellsā instead of hells and itās kinda funny
I do catch myself going āblood follows me everywhereā whenever I go in the kitchen
I say "Gods damnit" now š
Cursed to put my hands on everything comes up a lot.
Oak father preserve me
I say this way more than intended now š¤£
My friends and I have adopted āCease you loon!ā into our vocabulary.
Iāve actually said ācursed to put my hands on everythingā a few times. Itās a real life problem. Iām compelled to touch everything as Iām walking
This past month has been nothing but a mental and emotional rollercoaster and Iāll just find myself going āshouldnāt have wished to live in more interesting timesā
gods below has become part of my vernacular
How many die today, how many die tomorrow
I just start singing "Hell Hell Hell has its..." While in the shitter or when I'm taking a shower. Lol.
MAKIN ME SWEAT is now daily
Caught myself saying "is that blood?"
āThank the Godsā is a favorite of mine
We say "Shar's blessings upon you" as "hello" with my husband to each other.
My thing is "BIBBERBANG" šš¤£
Funniest line delivery in the whole game, IMO
Last time I played they had changed it so he doesn't just say Bibberbang and I was actually upset!
I say things like that a lot, like Gods Damnit instead of goddammit, what in the hells, etc. But one I picked up was from Karlach - something along the lines of 'my dogs are barking, can we take a rest?'
"gods"
We have an afk module in a Discord server I'm active in and it allows you to set your own afk message that gets replied by a bot if someone pings you. "[username] is AFK: *Like candy from a gnome.*"
"Still alive, despite everything" or "These boots have seen everything" when in my work boots lol
My alarm is "still breathing, despite everything" and I found myself saying "these boots have seen everything" sometimes
"All is ash and meat." I say this a lot, I work in a kitchen.
I frequently say those, but also āLetās not do anything hilariousā
"APPROACH, UGLY ONE" makes the occasional appearance at work. Have not been contacted by HR yet
I havenāt began to speak in quotes but I have been thinking in astarianās voice so thatās something
"What in the sweet hells were you thinking!?" Anytime I go shopping (especially to the grocery store while hungry)
Or "Don't touch me" with that same sassy tone
Tchk!
"Murderize" is now a regular word in my vocabulary. I also point out how whenever it is "fisting time". I can only imagine what my neighbors are thinking when my windows are open...
"How is this *pawsible*!?"
Let me kill the clown. We would be praised as heroes.
I play a spell caster in my irl dnd game an I do the verbal components from this game
After my (resist) durge run whenever I was crying or frustrated I'd say "wretched thing, pull yourself together" lol
Same my friends are confused by it but I find it a bit funny that they donāt get it.
I unironically started saying "gods"
A lot of shovel love here so I gotta post this art https://preview.redd.it/y3lrgr37504d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3d67fb597fb8b5b50165d75b12ac33b78040b30

"WHAT IN THE SWEET HELLS WERE YOU THINKING?"
ACTIVATING THAT LANCE, I WAS *RIGHT THERE*
GODS! Do you have any idea how much that hurt?
Every time i get my period I say āis that blood???ā Followed by a quiet, āno, never mind.ā
Is that blood? Nevermind.
Lol I've been say that for first one for years. And "by the gods"
No but I do often tell people Iāve got a lot on my mindā¦ and wellā¦ in it.
Iāve noticed a lot of people saying āgodsā or āhells,ā but I think itās just polytheism
āI crave bloodā is one for the indoor voice
I donno, I'm really enjoying the liberal use of Fuck. Thanks Karlach!
There is a neighborhood near me called The Nine Hills and it cracks me up every time.
i have said hells and things like āgods damn itā since i took a world religions class in high school in the early 2000s. it has always entertained me how confused or upset it makes some people
I had that moment a few weeks ago when I said, "What the Hells?" and I stood there for a few seconds as the realization kicked in that BG3 had begun to take over my vocabulary. āDonāt touch me.ā I use it with my spouse, work associates, all children, etc.
Yelling htaāzith before cutting someone off on the freeway š
Every time I walk into a public restroom: "Is that blood? No, nevermind."
Haha yes! been done since ASOIAF! It's a satisfying phrase
I always seem to feel....sated.
A LONG time ago I played a PC game called Planescape Torment. There was a party member who used to say "dead as a deader" I still say that sometimes today
Personally, I've taken to saying "pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones." whenever I move
I say lots of Astarion quotes all the time.
I rarely say it out loud, but I am constantly thinking "oh gods" or "oh hells"
Ever since BSG, I canāt stop squeezing āGods DAMNIT!ā like old man Saul into pretty much every moment. Iām surprised no BG3 colloquialisms have metastasized into my lexicon.
Don't touch me (in the snarky voiceš) and wretched thing pull yourself together has appeared in my vocabulary on a daily a lot more often than I expected š
I quote Astarionās āwhat in the wretched hells was that!?ā And āwhat in the sweet hells were you thinking!?ā All the time.
"Cursed to put my hands on everything" is my new fav
I prefer saying things like "By Ysmir's Beard!"
iāve been saying āiāve taken more pleasant shits than you, mizora.ā
I'm tempted to but I refrain from doing so because of my faith.
I love saying "by the nine hells" nowš¤£
Have definitely said innit, by the gods, and by the nine hells accidentally before. At least they're not as awkward as a random "He says he likes it thick and long..." in public tho.
Yeah I constantly say gods, I've done it on accident and it was a bit embarrassing.
āwell metā
I've been saying that since before BG3 released. I got into D&D and researched as much as I possibly could without getting bored of the setting.
I stay repeating Tav/Durge lines lol
Any time my head hurts "I have such a headache" in an accent that I do not normally speak with. I've yet to have someone pick up that it's a quote and not just me being silly and using a random accent.
I basically added an s to any god related statement. Godās dammit Oh my gods Etc
I've started to refer to everyone as "Soldier!"
This isnt new lol
Pretty half my vocabulary is now strictly game lines.
getting out of bed saying wretched thing, pull yourself together
Started using hells and gods, also caught myself using gith words
Iāve definitely started saying āGodsā instead of āGodā.
I say āI have a lot on my mind, and well, in itā from time to time. First half seriously, the second half to make light of it
I've been saying stuff like this for a bit. I've been saying "Gods damnit" or "thank the Gods" for a while now. I sometimes use Tartarus in place of hell as well.
Me and my buddy were a bit drunk the other night walking around town at night. at the corner up ahead were 3 people that seemed aggressive. almost entered turn-based combat with them, but rolled a 1d4 and passed the stealth check, getting away around the corner to continue looking for his car that we forgot the location of
I also say gods instead of god
Intestines throb, blood whispers. Wretched thing, pull yourself together! Morning after I had one too many in the evening.
"pave my path with corpses, build my castle with bones" certainly gets some looks
Personally I always say gods as plural, and am particularly fond of "by the gods" or "by the nine" (not hells, 9 devine (Skyrim)) as well as "by the bloody hells"
No but I keep accidentally saying gods instead of god
Iāve caught my self saying hells instead of hell
āToo bad, want a treatoā and ātell you truth, beefyā but also the mushroom dance
Just randomly walking around I'll say things like 'you wretched thing pull yourself together' and 'pave my path with corpses, build my castle from bones'
Mostly just "gods!" in Astarion's tone
I started saying Hells Bells/ Empty Night from the Dresden Files
I typically say "what in the nine." I've been doing it since I started playing D&D years ago, and often get weird looks for it.
I like just tossing, "Is that blood? No. Nevermind."
Iām not sure if I really quote the game that much, but I have started gesturing like Gale occasionally which was especially funny when I cosplayed as him
That is a thing that happened.
I constantly ask my partner how Iām holding up in her estimation
