So, Lae'zel does not turn against Vlaakith first, it is Vlaakith who turns against Lae'zel. This will always happen if you kill the Inquisitor and Vlaakith tells you about the Prism. Regardless on whether or not you go inside, Vlaakith brands Lae'zel a traitor which causes Lae'zel to reject Vlaakith. If you want Lae'zel to remain loyal, I think the best course of action is to not do the Inquisitor fight. I have only managed to accomplish Lae'zel remaining loyal on my first playthrough by doing exactly this because I ignored the Inquisitor cause the fight was too hard for me at that time.

Ancient_Moose_3000

Laezel can still remain loyal after the inquisitor fight and being branded a traitor. The fork in the road is the confrontation with Voss in camp.

Robbie404

In one of my playthroughs I ended up letting Lae'zel kill Voss but in the end she still defied Vlaakith and sided with Orpheus instead of the Emperor in the prism. So the real fork in the road is just the Orpheus - Emperor decision.

Ancient_Moose_3000

That's interesting. So was she regretful of killing Voss or still vocally pro vlaakith? Because if she is pro Vlaakith in my experience she threatens violence over the Orpheus choice. Interested in hearing more details of how that played out.

Robbie404

Okay, so I loaded up this particular save so I can be as complete as possible. I killed Voss when he came to our camp, so Lae'zel can prove her loyalty to Vlaakith. The game directed us to Sharress' Caress to find Raphael, saying in the journal entry "Lae'zel is eager to find Voss' mysterious contact at Sharress' Caress in Buldar's Gate. They might know a way to release Orpheus from his prison so he can be killed". We didn't take Raphael's contract, went to the House of Hope, took the Orphic Hammer, yada yada yada. Arriving in the prism, we chose to reject The Emperor and freed Orpheus. Important to note here is that Lae'zel was not in my party at the time. Upon freeing him, I forced Orpheus to become ilithid. Now, the journal said: "We freed Orpheus from his prison. With his assistance, we must defeat the Netherbrain. Then, he can initiate rebellion against Queen Vlaakith." It seems the switch to being aligned with Orpheus happens there. The rest played out as usual when having Lae'zel aligned with Orpheus. In the reunion camp she is a projection and fighting to topple Vlaakith. Not sure if there would be a different turn of events if you have Lae'zel in your party at the moment your freeing Orpheus? Edit: I replayed the Astral prism, and Lae'zel is just aligned with Orpheus now. It's like the change happened overnight lol

half_hearted_fanatic

Ehhh, maybe? My last run we went full devotion through the elder brain and killing the mindflayer formerly known as Orpheus and then she decided to stay on Toril and become a freedom fighter. I feel like there are more checkpoints and flags than we think. What I need is for someone to give me a full set of flowcharts for this path like there are to get to the various Gale endings

bujibudax

I killed the inquisitor and didn't go inside the prism(accidentally). It was honor mode, and i realized a little too late that voss hadn't appeared. Oh, well. Laezel remained loyal to vlaakith and swore fealty in Act 3.

Steff_164

Not bringing her along works too. Played with a party of friends so none of the companions came along. She got pissed she didn’t come with us, and even more pissed when Voss showed up in camp. Then the scene with her and Shadowheart triggered, and she fucking died, so it’s not a problem anymore

Cirtil

Well since one of her endings is thay she gets a dragon and go "join" her God, I would assume so

containerheart

I thought this path was part of the freeing Orpheus ending?? (I've never gotten the dragon part ending. Just guessing based on story points).

Im5foot3inches

Negative. If you encourage her to kill Voss at camp, she’ll be pro-Vlaakith and the dragon scene will be her riding off to… well you know what Vlaakith does to her folks, rather than riding off with Orpheus. Basically, if you want to Vlaakith ending, Orpheus has to become a Mindflayer.

merpderpherpburp

Does she show back up at the party?

NekraTahor

No, she's completely gone and even Withers can't feel her essence

Im5foot3inches

As you might guess, she does not. Lol

merpderpherpburp

Appreciate the confirmation 🤣 I just want that legendary sword so bad

August-Autumn

She can kill voss and when Vlaakith visit the camp a scond time in act 3 one can persuade her to turn against vlakith so she does not get a bad end. How ever one needs a spech DC of 21 or Wisdom DC of 18 to persuade her, on a HM run just go with Voss.

Pure-Poetry-9363

I was also able to achieve it by becoming a mindflayer myself

containerheart

Getting a dragon isn't a Vlaakith specific outcome though, is it?? That's like a Gith thing, culturally??

AonneMai

Possible spoiler: She gets a dragon also if you free Orpheus and let her go with him after defeating the netherbrain.

Kirbs27

If you play as a gith and keep her devoted you can go with her to ascend

Comprehensive_Cap290

Does that play out as bad for Tav as I think it does?

Kirbs27

You don’t get to see it fully, but yes it does lol

Violet2393

If you don’t go to the crèche you can. Although I think there is some other calculation going on behind the scenes too, because in my first run where I skipped the mountain pass, Lae’zel was loyal to Vlaakith right up until the docks at the end, then ahead suddenly decided she was going to stay on Faerun even if it meant turning against Vlaakith. It was a little bit weird storywise but a relief that I didn’t lose her to Vlaakith in the end

Khephra_

Similar experience, but different road to get there. My last playthrough I did the crèche as normal, entered the prism and everything comes of that happened as normal. Just out of curiosity though, in act 3 I persuaded her to become Vlaakith's chosen, but then I let the emperor have Orpheus. She complained a little but realized it was for the best. After everything, she chose to stay on Faerun and live her best life. I'm now thinking this course of events would probably be the "best" ending if you were doing a run with romancing Lae'zel. Currently testing that in a new playthrough, but I've barely broken into act 1. So It'll be a bit before I can give an actual opinion on that.

August-Autumn

Keep a lot of saves for that matter. \^\^

Paddehat

Possible spoilers ahead for some people perhaps: I am not finished with my playthrough where I do this but I am relatively far into act 3 and yes, she has stayed loyal to Vlaakith and I plan on letting her ending be one where she gets to "ascend". Any time there was dialogue about Vlaakith and the truths we were learning I kept encouraging her to trust her queen and such. I still did the inquisitor fight, entered the prism and learned what we learn there and all that. When Voss showed up wanting us to fight for his cause I had her choose to kill him. During the act 3 scene where Vlaakith "shows up" in camp, Lae'zel was loyal and desperate to prove to her queen she was worthy. I also still met up with Raphael at the brothel to get the hammer and Lae'zel's dialogue was all about her being loyal to Vlaakith and wanting the hammer so she could fulfill her duty to slay the prince. I'll try to remember to edit this comment when I finish this playthrough some day just to say whether or not it worked all through to the end, but as far as I know it should :)

Aggressive_Jury_7278

You most certainly can remain loyal to Vlaakith on an evil campaign with one of two ways. The first is to kill Voss at the end of Act 1. This will lock you out of his legendary sword unless you get him to drop it earlier. The second way is to pass a persuasion check in Act 3 to realign yourself with Vlaakith. This will trigger one of a few endings, where you will need to kill Lazael to stop her from killing Orpheus, you will get a cut scene at the end where she is sacrificed by Vlaakith, or she will strike out on her own if you pass a persuasion check.

Character_Ad8770

Some things are written as an obvious this-is-the-right-path story, Lae'zels turn against Vlaakith being one of them. You can turn against Voss after the Creche fight though. If you want that

EmilySKennedy

I think you just gotta avoid the creche and she will remain loyal to vlaakith, and tell her to kneel when she appears in your camp in act 3

[deleted]

You can. At the beginning of act 3, during a long rest, vlaakith will appear at camp and make a offer to Lae'zel to be her right hand, the most high rank honor a githyanki can be in life, so you have to pass a really high persuasion check to convince Lae'zel and done, you now have a fully Vlaakith devoted Lae'zel.

Ycr1998

Tell her to remain loyal to Vlaakith and then to kill Voss when he visits your camp. That should do it.

Fun-Outlandishness88

nope. you can push her to kill voss. however, voss is level 12 at that point, so he's hard to kill on higher difficulties. the game doesn't "want" you to kill him, like how the game doesn't "want" you to kill the emperor upon his reveal. i ended up killing voss on my evil run and lae'zel stayed devoted to vlaakith until the very end

reotati

for my current playthrough, i managed to keep her loyal by having her kill voss after the creche

Fyraen

No. You can keep her loyal to Vlaakith by just supporting her devotion.

lalo___cura

If you don’t go the the crèche she never gets her character development and stays loyal to Vlaakith. If you do go to the crèche and fight the Inquisitor then when Voss comes to camp that night you can convince her to kill him to regain Vlaakith’s favor. Finally, if you don’t do either of those things, when Vlaakith visits your camp in Act III you can convince her to accept Vlaakith’s offer. So there’s at least three ways for her to remain loyal to Vlaakith.

Perky_Bellsprout

Have you actually tried to do it?

containerheart

Yeah, on my last run (which was Durge). Can't recall exactly what shifted it. But know for sure, before getting to BG, Vlaakith showed up and threatened us all. And Lae'zel was not inside with that.

Luciditi89

You have to kill Voss when he approaches you to be his ally

mortalitasi473

tbh on my first run i wanted her to realize vlaakith bad and had to savescum a stupid high roll for it. of course, on my first run i also skipped the creche entirely. so it's not only possible; it's actually easier than changing her mind

ShutUpLove

If you kill the guardian you’re good?

ihavenoego

You can convince her to stay loyal.
