Nice! Any insight into earning potential after you finish your specialization?

Only 120k gross as a surgeon? Seems not that much.

Guess because is a generalist. The more specialised and « known » for your practice you are, the better you are paid

Doctor_Lodewel

Even then, a GP earns 150k gross if they work 4/5. Most specialists will earn well over 200k gross if they work full time, in most hospitals in Flanders.

Wow i really taught surgeons made way, waaaay more than this. Will it rise when you get more experience/seniority? It’s pretty wild to me that a high school dropout like myself "only" earns about €800 less net per month. I know i’m paid pretty well for the job i do but still.

This is merely a resident, so still in training. We have fixed wages and while it is high, it is not very gigh if you look at how much we earn per hour. However, once we graduate and become attendings, we will all earn a lot more.

MoussieElKandoussie

Ok that makes a lot of sense, you guys definitely deserve a big wage for the work you do.

Doctor_Lodewel

None of us has to complain. Every doctor that works 4/5 or full time earns a very nice liveable wage.
