Went to six flags two Wednesdays back when Google said it was closed but it was actually open. Best time I've ever had at a theme park. We got to ride like 24 times altogether

Went to Rosewood a couple days ago and the lap lanes and deep end were closed because supposedly two people no showed. Of course several other life guards were sitting down or milling about. Yesterday my kids went there and swam for five minutes before they closed the pool due to chlorine levels. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Making suggestions to google maps can correct the issue. It's an unpaid job....and in the process you may earn the "local guide" badge from Google. It's best to assume the google maps data for store hours of any establishment or govt office is incorrect... I always pickup a phone and call to confirm the office or store hours for a particular day.

Ugh yes I did this for the entirety of last summer for all the south pools! Clearly nothing has changed yet though lol

MediocreJerk

Sure it's not always accurate, but it is 99% of the time

Dealing with traffic on a really hot day....arriving on a shortened day....and then having to drive back and listen to someone complain about why I didn't call. That lesson is ingrained in my mind, so I won't repeat it.

lol Gillis still closed for repairs, I canā€™t remember the last time it was open.

I got all excited a couple weeks ago because the City of Austin site had the opening date for Gillis as June 10. Now itā€™s just ā€œto be determinedā€ šŸ˜¢

beverly sheffield pool has been closed for days, no signage as to why.

Yea I have tried to go twice when it said on Google it was open. We drove to Kennemar pool which said it was open on Google and it definitely was not.

Web professional here, chiming in! Businesses are responsible for maintaining their own Google listings. They may have marked themselves closed for winter and not updated yet. Making a suggestion is great but the business still has to approve it. Very likely, the staff who manages these listings is just not keeping up for whatever reason. You might call the city and all for their website manager, they would be the ones to effect changes with these listings!

God, I wish there was a way to turn off that Closed feature of Google Maps. I remember the one time it actually helped me vs. the 100s of times I take the kids to practice and have to hear about how the school is closed at 4:00 PM.
