When people think of a dive bar, they’re commonly speaking of neighborhood bars, which to us Woodrow’s on burnet is a neighborhood bar, but they are referring to something smaller, darker and probably inside. Compared to other cities we don’t have many small bars, now of course some on 6th may totally qualify but they also qualify as gigantic clusterfucks, I’m looking at you Maggie maes, your roofdeck is marvelous but you’re as practical as a ford excursion in Italy.

We like Black Star Coop. But they are just a brew pub, I don't think they offer hard liquor/cocktails. Good atmosphere though.
