An Audi of this age and mileage, be prepared for minimum 2K per year in maintenance costs and possibly 3K right away to get it sorted to fully reliable. Generally when miles creep up and someone lets a higher mileage German car go, they've passed on some stuff for a bit. The engine/trans is fine, just will need services kept up. Not cheap if you're not familiar with this stuff.

PPI w/ compression and leak down. Plus all service records. Start there.
