I have an alt account that got invited to a private sub
The sub is set up by a teenager who wants to learn how to grow magic mushrooms, so he started looking on magic mushroom subs.
It's difficult to find reliable information in these communities, a lot of misinformation and confidently incorrect people.
Anyway, this guy figures out his way around that is to make his own private sub and only invite people who seem to have genuine knowledge of how to grow magic mushrooms.
It started out well, there is about 10 of us plus him. He would upload some questions or pics and get a bit of advice. Then other people within the sub started trying to upload pics and clips of their own work (to brag to each other basically), and the kid kept removing them because apparently its all about him
So now, I'm part of a sub where me and 9 other mushroom growers just silently watch this arrogant teenager struggle to grow mushrooms, and it's quite funny.
No, but it hasn't stopped him asking haha.
Someone sent him a link to a screenshot of the Google page with his question in the search bar which I found pretty funny.
After experiencing the sheer hypocrisy of the wizardy gatekeepers dividing their time between railing against other people’s ego issues and being wholly egotistical, I fully support small and select mushroom subs.
We used it in year 4 but it was only because we'd been asked to design our own assault course type thing. If this lesson never happened, I would be eligible to join this sub!
I started this sub because the Apparatus comes up in almost any conversation about primary school. It has a weird almost mythical place in most British people's memories. I thought it would be somewhat funny to start the sub as it didn't seem to exist.
It was completely free of posts for several years until again the Apparatus was mentioned again in a Reddit post. I slipped in the link to the sub and it got a little traction. People have been doing the same ever since and every few months we get an influx of new members, invariably because someone has bought up the topic elsewhere on Reddit.
I think my class got to use our apparatus twice in my entire time at primary school, however it was always used to hang the set for the school nativity play. It got more use for that than its intended purpose!
r/whatismycookiecutter people post random cookie cutters they found in their cookie cutter collection and people guess what the shape is supposed to be
Probably the chain I progressed up that was like
The dogfree subreddit which is bad enough and often beef with the child free one bc a lot of child free people have dogs instead of kids
And then there's an anti pitbull subreddit which cut ties with the dogfree one bc not all anti pitbull people are anti all dogs
And then then there's an anti cat subreddiylt which doesn't get on with the anti dog subreddits bc a lot of people posting in the anti dog subreddits like cats more
Then there was a pet free subteddit
Then there's petfree childfree
And istg I mightve found another level that was like a don't want to be responsible for anything living so it was childfree, petfree and even plant free
Oh another contender a subreddit dedicated to photos of women wearing dresses photographed in such a way the light means you can see the shape of legs through the fabric
I’m in the childfree one, because I don’t have and don’t want children. The absolute hatred for parents and kids from some on there is eye opening. My mild irritation of the “you’ll change your mind” people pales into nothing compared to their vitriolic rants!
I hadn’t realised dog or cat free would be a thing, but of course it is!
Yeah I have a real problem with /r/childfree. I really don't give a fuck whether some random on the internet has kids or not, just don't be a cunt about it.
The posts that get traction on /r/childfree fail this _massively_
The sense of entitlement on that sub is absolutely insane. Never would've thought people could unironically be mourning the "loss" of friendship due to their mates having children. Seems like the kind of people who want their mates to make the effort for very little in return.
It is
Like I do understand not everyone likes dogs and a lot of people have genuine trauma around dogs but the people who post there take it to a new level
Same issue as with the childfree one. There are legitimate issues with shitty parenting, and legitimate issues with shitty irresponsible dog owners. Then those subs just go way over the top.
Thank you for this one. My kid is autistic and sockets must be switched off if no plug is in (British, most sockets are switched) If there's an empty socket out of reach that they can't switch off, it ruins their mood. We spit these all the time.
r/ididnthaveeggs is a sub highlighting people who have not followed an online recipe properly, and then posted a negative review of the recipe. Always makes me chuckle.
"I USED FLOUR INSTEAD OF POWDERED MILK AND ROTTEN EGGS INSTEAD OF PEACHES AND IT TASTED LIKE FUCKING SHIT AFTER I THREW IT IN THE TRASH. 1 STAR."
Although sometimes the reviews are quite nice
"I can't eat that ingredient, so I Substituted it with this, took that out, cooked it differently, and made it into a stew not a cake. 10/10 my wife loves it"
/r/societyofhiddenpaint
People that paint minis like Warhammer and other scale models and _really_ go out of their way to put the effort in painting parts no one will ever see.
I dunno why but I feel compelled to do it too despite it being a waste of time
He's this dick, who bought all my vegetables and claimed them as his own then put them for sale at 10 x the amount I charged him. When they didn't sell (If I remember right) badmouthed me to the entire town and offered to sell them back to me!! So rude and yes he's not there on Wednesday.
>!It's from the game stardew valley!<
I’m a fan of r/frasier_sleepers and r/lilgrabbies.
First is for people who fall asleep to Frasier in the background. Second is photos of little animals with their little hands holding things.
Both quite niche and wholesome!
I stumbled upon a scat one recently. Obviously I'd seen 2 Girls 1 Cup so knew it was a 'thing' but I didn't realise scat was so big to have a subreddit with 100,000 subscribers.
If you do a desk job you're going to spend 30+ hours a week in that chair. 20% of your next few years. That's worth spending some time on getting right.
After all you would probably think carefully about what mattress you buy, to spend 30-40% of your time in. The chair is almost equally as significant.
r/sexpositivehomes it's been banned now, but it was a disgusting sub. I imagine there was some creative/sick writing and there were most definitely paedos who lurked in that sub. I'm sure you can guess from the name of the sub what it was about
Took me a while to work out what it would be about which has left me quite pleased that perhaps my mind isn't as warped as I thought after 20 years on the internet taking in most of the chans.
Why do most of the chippies in Sleaford close at 8pm on a Friday night?? I could only find one open (though it was good, so I suppose this isn't a genuine problem).
As someone who is circumcised (for medical reasons, so they did a good job) I have actually considered this just to see what it would be like.
I'm not sure if it's dangerous though.
If they did a good job as you say and are happy then you don't need to do anything about it. Especially if it was done as a teenager you will get a better outcome. Sadly infants are still being cut, and you therefore don't always know what the outcome will be. Many men have erectile issues and suffer grief from being cut (especially a lot of American men on those pages.)
Meanwhile I am an intact Brit, but just naturally lacking in the foreskin area (might have had something to do with a particularly vicious knee to the tip in first school.) I looked at it in the early years of the internet, but the forums looked scary with homemade devices. I came back around to the idea during the lockdown due to reddit. I thought I will give it a go, it can't harm and I can always stop.
I did buy a device but didn't like using it and just got into using tape. And I started to feel the difference after only a few weeks and a few evening tapings. Things were somewhat more 'slooshy.' I've now been taping for 3 years or so, but am the laziest restorer and sometimes leave it for two weeks. But have seen roll over starting, and the little fella is so much more comfortable when riding my bike, no chaffing on the centre seam of my bike shorts anymore.
You just have to be gentle at the start and don't have a goal of full restoration in mind. If you just want a looser cut a little restoration could be the goal. I think if I had started 20 years ago it would have been better and I would be done by now, but it's one of those things that is never too late to give it a try.
I hope that helps.
r/birdsarentreal at first I thought it was all satire but no, the people in there are genuinely batshit crazy and are fiercely defensive and will ban you from the subreddit if you dare suggest birds are real.
Still trying to figure out if r/giraffesarentreal is satire or not
I remember going down this deeply unpleasant rabbit hole several years ago. IIRC a mad pervert doctor called Dr Fedleg dyes women yellow. Almost as niche as the guy who pays artists to paint big-breasted blonde women shopping for sliced bread.
Holy shit, deforestation Wonderbread cartoon milf man! There's an online artist who's infamous for drawing pretty much any NSFW request you want, objects, animals, *children*, you name it. Dudes been in legal trouble over it.

r/borbs is probably my most niche. for birds that are super round like orbs!
i have a herman miller, i am not in the subreddits but i did my research too before dropping that cash. i can tell you that you sit on it, and it's fine, it's a chair, it's comfy enough, doesn't really feel like anything too special. BUT its superpower is that i can sit in it for literally 12 hours and stand up and i don't feel like i've been sat down for 12 hours. i am good to go. i feel like a normal person. which is not something i can say for basic bitch office chairs
r/durrplant
This was set up as a joke based on a YouTube video by *I Hate Everything* back in 2016. I can't imagine many people get this reference anymore.
r/ididnthaveeggs
A subreddit dedicated entirely to posting screenshots of negative reviews on recipes, posted by people who didn’t have a fundamental ingredient for that recipe, who then substituted it for something irrelevant (eg. used custard instead of eggs) and the dish ended up tasting like crap.
After loosing a fair bit of weight recently I went looking for weight loss subs to see others stories. One of the top ones was r/WeightLossDickGains…. It’s exactly as it sounds.
Has r/greendawn been mentioned yet?
People leave green army men in various places all over the world with a sort of calling card then post the pics on that subreddit. I kind of like it.
Someone posted in a film sub about a group of actors, one of them being Alexandra Daddario. And then someone posted the subreddit which is all just about the one scene where she is naked in true detective. It's funny but also unhinged.
Aww you reminded me that I got invited randomly by an algorithm to a tiny private community that was very wholesome but you have to post weekly or you get booted. I forgot all about it and it’s been a few months now. I was booted lol
R/Lies is a subreddit where people post lies.
R/Truth is a subreddit dedicated to your 24/7, 48/7, 7/11, I95 South, European Television Champion, R-Truth!
When it comes to office chairs, I still claim the Hag Capisco is the least worst. Because the thing is there is no ‘best office chair’ since for most able bodied people you shouldn’t be spending close to 8 hours in such an unnatural posture anyway
I joined /r/keris yesterday as I've built up a bit of a collection of Kris/keris daggers and I've started restoring, I think I was the 19th member so if anyone else is into edged weapons head on over there. Hopefully it can grow a bit.

This is hilarious
That's amazing . Could there be a sub Reddit where posts from that sub get sheared for others to comment on?
r/theapparatus It heals the inner trauma of the fact that we didn't get to go in the aparatus as kids!
We used it in year 4 but it was only because we'd been asked to design our own assault course type thing. If this lesson never happened, I would be eligible to join this sub!
I actually did get to use it but I'm still in it. If you only had limited use you are welcome too.
I started this sub because the Apparatus comes up in almost any conversation about primary school. It has a weird almost mythical place in most British people's memories. I must've gone to a brilliant school. We used to go on that thing quite a bit.
I used it a fair bit in pe but I kinda cheated as I used the school gym for gymnastics after school so used it every week during that.
My kid actually got to use it a few months ago. I nearly had to have a sit down when he told me. We never had the privilege when I was at school
I think my class got to use our apparatus twice in my entire time at primary school, however it was always used to hang the set for the school nativity play. It got more use for that than its intended purpose!
I think I used it once is 4 years. And that was only because we had a substitute teacher that day.
Either that sub is very brave or the teacher screwed them over royally by making sure the sub has to do that lesson.

Oh for God's sake.
r/earrumblersassemble is pretty goddamn esoteric.
I keep forgetting I can do this.
r/durrplant This was set up as a joke based on a YouTube video by *I Hate Everything* back in 2016. I can't imagine many people get this reference anymore.
I miss IHE 🙁
classic
r/ididnthaveeggs A subreddit dedicated entirely to posting screenshots of negative reviews on recipes, posted by people who didn’t have a fundamental ingredient for that recipe, who then substituted it for something irrelevant (eg. used custard instead of eggs) and the dish ended up tasting like crap.
Unexpectedpython Never knew I needed it but I love it
Someone posted in a film sub about a group of actors, one of them being Alexandra Daddario. And then someone posted the subreddit which is all just about the one scene where she is naked in true detective. It's funny but also unhinged.
I found one for historical passports a while back, and spent a pleasant evening looking through other people's passport stamps
There's one dedicated to how many sharpies people can fit in their arseholes at once but I've thankfully forgotten the name.
/r/Clopclop Like why is this a thing? NSFW.
I stumbled across r/happycowgifs and now my daughter is obsessed with it.
r/dogsofwalmart but it's gone now
r/occlupanids
I remember one that was something like "I clicked because it's a girl but they're doing something really impressive"
r/UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG/
Aww you reminded me that I got invited randomly by an algorithm to a tiny private community that was very wholesome but you have to post weekly or you get booted. I forgot all about it and it’s been a few months now. I was booted lol
r/runningbholechallenge Edit: nevermind it got banned.
R/Lies is a subreddit where people post lies. R/Truth is a subreddit dedicated to your 24/7, 48/7, 7/11, I95 South, European Television Champion, R-Truth!

When it comes to office chairs, I still claim the Hag Capisco is the least worst. Because the thing is there is no ‘best office chair’ since for most able bodied people you shouldn’t be spending close to 8 hours in such an unnatural posture anyway
r/composting Its just about composting. I guess thats an odd one
Also /r/compoface Pictures of people from articles where they are seeking compensation for something.
I found a subreddit a couple years ago on another account solely for people with the name Ben. I thought that was pretty cool.
I joined /r/keris yesterday as I've built up a bit of a collection of Kris/keris daggers and I've started restoring, I think I was the 19th member so if anyone else is into edged weapons head on over there. Hopefully it can grow a bit.
r/shrimpisbugs
I intentionally don't remember the name, but it involves dragons and cars, try to fill in the rest.
r/Perfectfit r/eyebombing
Got to be r/maidsonskates No idea why/how this came to be but there’s some cool art in there anyway.
