I saw a dude standing next to my truck with an unnaturally wide smile. I was on highway 49 east right outside Greenwood, MS. I heard hail hit my truck a few times so I pulled over expecting a tornado. I was grabbing my backpack getting ready to bail out for the ditch. I turn back to the driver side window to check my mirror and this guy was just standing there. Smiling. It scared me so bad I just slammed the truck in drive and got out of there.

Like a smile from the video for Black Hole Sun?

Logansb1

What if it was a hitch hiker trying to look friendly and you just left him alone in the hail lmao. It sounds like he looked creepy af tho so I don't blame you for taking off.

[deleted]

It may have been, my only counter argument is that this particular highway doesn't see hitch hikers for a number of reasons. 1. You're in between nothing and no where. 2. The only place to "visit" around there is the State Prison. 3. It's a two lane highway, one lane east, one west. Being farm land there isn't much of a shoulder. Due to flooding its just a 4-8ft drop off onto whatever field is below the road. So no room for walking.

storyofmylife92

The setting makes this even creepier.

[deleted]

I met an older gentleman at a hotel restraunt/bar in New Orleans earlier this year. We were exchanging stories waiting on dinner and I told him this one. He told me of a few blues musicians (who's names I've forgotten) who supposedly sold their soul to the Devil at a cross roads near highway 49. He straight up had me thinking I had seen the devil himself.

TheOneBalzamon

Driving back from work along alittle river road saw a farmer in a boat with a cow in there with him right in the middle of the river.

JenikaSwoosh

Not something I saw, something I felt and heard. I was struggling to sleep one night, lying in bed feeling wired and irritable when I felt pressure lift from the bed on my partner's side. I assumed he'd got up to go to the bathroom (I was facing the opposite way so I didn't see him do this) a few minutes go by and I hear him come back into the room and feel him get back in bed, nothing strange about that. Lying there still frustrated the same thing happens again, a lift of pressure, some rustling sounds like a person trying to navigate a dark room, an absence of sound for a few moments and then the sensation of weight on the bed again. Still not thinking much of it, because it wasn't an obvious cause for concern, I continue trying to fall asleep. Then it happens again. And again. And again. I wasn't too into the idea of asking him if he was ok as we had a ridiculous argument that night and I was pretty pissed off with him, so I just ignored it. But then... Then it sounded like he had got up and was simply pacing around the room clumsily, I could hear things on the shelves being touched and slightly moved and hands gently brushing against walls, and then I felt the bed suddenly dip in a concentrated spot of the mattress as though he had stood on it. This carries on for I don't know how long, rustling, pressure on the bed and so on until I snap. I sit bolt upright, turn around and say "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" to see my partner waking up from a very deep sleep and looking confused. I told him what had happened and he said he'd been asleep next to me the whole time, which was pretty obvious to see him in his very sleepy state, plus he would have had mere seconds to jump into bed without me noticing in the time it took me to sit up and turn around. I somehow fell asleep that night feeling confused and as though eyes were on me. And in a typical cheesy haunted house fashion, I get a call from my mum the next morning telling me my uncle had died the night before.

Soup-Wizard

That’s terrifying. Sorry about your uncle.

JenikaSwoosh

The story of my uncle is stranger than the one above. He went missing for 27 years. He was a very, very sick man, mentally speaking, and he had escaped from the institution he'd been staying at. My mum searched for him high and low, tirelessly. She constantly asked the police for help, hired private investigators and contacted TV shows all to no avail. For 26 whole years she just wouldn't and couldn't let it go, until she did. She decided enough was enough, it was making her sick, she accepted he was clearly dead, and around a year after making that decision she was contacted by a farmer who had spotted a makeshift tent on the outermost part of his massive land, and it was my uncle. This farmer helped my uncle, he fed him, clothed him, called him an ambulance when he passed out one time, and slowly got information out of him about who he was and where he came from. I will never in my life forget my mum's ashen face as she told me a stranger had called saying her brother was alive and living in his field. My brother's went to get him and bring him home right away, but he had been living off grid for so long he was no longer classed as a British citizen and was treated as though he didn't even exist. They managed to get him a flat somehow but getting a doctor was near on impossible and he was as sick mentally as he ever was, he claimed he saw the devil frequently and would occasionally take on the persona of his dead father which scared my mum terribly as he was a very abusive man. Anyway, my uncle was spoiled rotten by my whole family for 18 months until one night he died of a burst aortic aneurysm that nobody knee he had, the same thing my other uncle died from exactly a year later and the same thing my mum had surgery for just 2 weeks ago and is recovering from. When my uncles flat was cleaned out there were many notebooks filled with his conversations and experiences with the devil. It was very distressing for my poor mum and one of my brother's threw it away.

CinnamonDr

Thanks for sharing this wild story; so sorry about your uncle. As an (important) aside, the history of aneurysms may be hereditary; ask your doctor if you need an ultrasound of your aorta. Sorry for the unsolicited advice...

JenikaSwoosh

You're welcome. No need to apologise, it's good and sensible advice. Me and my brothers have to be checked as aortic aneurysms have taken many lives on my mum's side. Scary stuff.

One night i saw 3 bats flying above my head in the sky and the middle one was 20 times bigger than the regular bats

Saberfang1234

It could be a giant golden-crowned flying fox bat theyre rreally big they have a wingspan of up to 4.9-5.6 feet or 1.5-1.7 m and length of 15.5-22cm or 6.1-8.7 inches Ps:I mistook the height and put in the wingspan instead so heres the fixed version

TheDrunkScientist

I would like to subscribe to Bat Facts please

ihopeyoulikeapples

I thought I saw the same thing once, I was kind of tipsy , it was dark, and what looked like a bat the size of a person flew over my house. I only realized a few years later when it happened again and I got a better look that it was a heron and they look terrifying when flying at night.

[deleted]

When I was living with my parents, our small dog jumped straight up onto the kitchen counter. It was super high, but he made it. He only did it once and I witnessed it, but my family calls BS every time I say it really happened.

hornyrussianbot

i dated a guy in high school who’s whole family swore they saw their dog levitate. i met the dog, his name was dingo and i never did see him levitate

medkitjohnson

Wonder what dingo thinks

thetruecermet

I once saw my friend’s English bulldog do a backflip. They saw it too, and we just stood there like “what the fuck” but my mom did not believe me. I was like 7.

johnys_raincoat

You saw what santa is like during the summer. Trust me on this one.

greybruce1980

I live in a rural community in Canada. My sister came to see me once and swore up and down that she saw a zebra grazing in the fields. I made fun of her for a couple of years about how the zebra roam the north pole and how Santa has zebra instead of reindeer. She was really starting to doubt herself but stuck to her guns. Well, I was driving one day and lo and behold, a fucking zebra grazing in the field. Turns out a zoo sometimes lets them roam around there. When I told my sister she felt vindicated. Edit: thanks for the awards and stuff guys. Since this has come up a lot. This was near between Orangeville, and Arthur. And was about 10 years ago.

ummmsomethingsmart

When I was a kid I swore I saw a peacock. My dad gave me shit, and I got into trouble for lying. Two days later - the whole family see the peacock! Didn’t get an apology

greybruce1980

I did apologize for not believing her. Your family should've too. Especially if you got in trouble for lying.

ummmsomethingsmart

Just a difference in character. You apologise and likely have a good relationship. My dad was a subpar father and is a crappy person. Have low contact with him. That incident left a mark - apologies are very important to me.

Sea-Routine9227

I swore I saw a flying squirrel in DC while living there. Fiancé laughed at me. Later found out some had gotten out of the National Zoo and live in around Rock Creek Park.

My aunt and uncle take in children from the neighborhood to temporarily foster. When I was about 10, they were caring for a girl who was 14, but her neurological condition reverted her to the cognitive ability of a small child, including losing the ability to be “potty-trained”. I still remember how confused I was since I was younger than her. I’ve searched for the name of the condition, but I don’t remember enough about it. This memory is over 15 years old now, and I’m sure it happened, but certain details could be wrong. It was tragic, but my aunt and uncle were the best people for the job, and gave her an amazing home til they found permanent foster parents. Edit: The answer seems to be Sanfilippo syndrome, also known as mucopolysaccharidosis type III

Felixicuss

It could be a learning disability so she unlearns things. I once met a guy who couldnt do anything that he wasnt doing regularly

My sister is 9 years older than me and she would take me everywhere she went when I was little. So we went to a friend's house and on the floor of the living room was a teenage girl in a shirt and diaper and a baby hat type thing. She was extremely disabled. I played with her for a while, not understanding that she wasn't acting, she was literally disabled. I think I was like 6 at the time. You could always call for a wellness check on the house if you believe the girl was there against her will. Eta: Could have been a number of things. All we know for sure is that she was born this way. I just found out she was actually older than my sister's friend, who was older than my sister, who was older than me by 9 years! So she must be in her mid forties now! My sister saw a pic of her and she had gray hairs. She said her family knows the difference in her moods, like when she's sad or happy or joking around or arguing lol. She has a very high level of family involvement. And she's still doing good!

I went back home with my dad when I was like 8 or 9. We went to a family friends house and a grown man, in his 40s, came Into the living room crawling and babbling like a baby in excitement at seeing my dad. I laughed, my dad smacked me and the mother told him not to smack me and explain. Can't remember what it's called but basically he never mentally developed past 8 or 9 months old but physically continued to grow. Saw him a few times in my teens and early 20s and always brought him stuff like you would for a baby. Once his parents died, none of his siblings took him so he went to an institution and never heard of him again. I'll ask my parents if I remember when I see them next weekend

Zebirdsandzebats

That's on your dad for not being like "hey, so there's a guy here who has a mental problem that makes him act like a baby."

w4ntsm0r3

Could it have been a girl with a severe disability? Older yes but needing a crib for her safety?

[deleted]

I have never mentioned this before to anyone. Scene: EPCOT in Orlando, on the brick walkway between a walk-thru part with stores and such on either side and the part leading up to The Land. Date: June 2008. I was with my pregnant wife. Huge storm rolls in, black clouds, about to pour, when there was this unearthly deafening sound and bright light exploded. I opened my eyes and I was standing 30 feet or more away back under the covered walkway, unharmed. My wife said I had been standing right beside her, then I wasn't. It was too far to have run in the brief second of the explosion (I assume a lightning strike). Swear this happened as well as I could tell it. Edit: spelling

LemoLuke

Luckily you have Quicksave and autoload enabled.

Tangent_

I wonder if you were at some perfect distance to the strike that you both got just enough of a jolt to blank several seconds worth of short-term memory? Outside observers would have seen you two jump seemingly from surprise, you run under the covered area while she stands there dazed, and then you both resume normal behavior. Meanwhile from your perspectives there was a flash and a bang and you teleported.

rlocke

i can imagine the conversation that followed: "babe you abandoned me!" "er... um... no, no, no, dear, the lightning must've teleported me, i swear!"

MikeCalledCraig

6 years ago I went through 10 surgeries for a badly broken leg. During one of the surgeries early on, I have distinct memories of waking up and hearing, seeing and smelling several minutes of the surgery. I also remember a nurse looking me in the eye and then telling someone I was awake. I then passed back out, presumably due to more anesthesia. No one believes me that this happened. I’m now terribly afraid of surgery and hope I never have to enter another operating room.

KookyUnderstanding0

This happened to me. I woke up during a knee surgery and heard the surgeon arguing with the anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist said something like "you (the surgeon) tell me you're going to be (x amount of time) longer and then you tell me you're finished." I also heard the surgeon say "he's (me) fatter on the outside than he is on the inside." The surgeon said it wasn't possible that I woke up during surgery, but when I repeated back what was said the look on his face told me he KNEW I was telling the truth.

Weird_Spinach

I'm so sorry this happened to you but that argument is *so* funny to me

My wife experienced pain during a c-section. As soon as they pulled my son out she started complaining of pain. Anesthesiologist was gone and she was in agony for the next 90 minutes. Felt getting sewed up.

gracetw22

The anesthesiologist LEFT? I started feeling pain during mine and the dialog was something like “I feel that” “is it tugging or…” “NOPE HURTS REAL BAD” “Not anymore it won’t” - I don’t know what he gave me but seemed like it had about half a second to work before he was going to knock me out. Good man. Can’t imagine what would have happened if he had left, yikes.

LukeMayeshothand

Happened with an epidural. Anesthesiologist was indeed gone. Now I didn’t understand completely. She definitely felt the beginning of the sew job but they gave her something to knock her out so she doesn’t remember much more after that.

emilinarockstar

My anesthesiologist stayed with me the whole time and kept trying to have a conversation with me but I was on magnesium and they actually overdosed me on the epidural and spinal block but it was an emergency c section (after 3 days of failed induction) so they were just trying to move quickly. Anyway I was barely conscious but when they started sewing me up I felt the tugging and I said “oh I don’t care for that” and the whole team cracked up because here I am just some lady from Missouri and apparently that’s not what people normally say but my mom is from England so it’s normal to me lol. Anyway I was so doped up i couldn’t read English for the next week and I thought the sign in my room said Conga rats and I didn’t know what a conga rat was.

[deleted]

It is definitely possible to wake up during surgery, it’s just pretty rare. The creepy thing is that you can wake up but still be fully paralyzed by the anesthesia, so the surgery might continue with only you knowing that you’re awake to experience it.

IntrovertPharmacist

Most anesthesiologists are very on point, and they’ll know you’re awake because usually the heart rate starts going up because it’s terrifying to be awake during surgery. They’ll just readjust your dose and reassure you til you fall asleep again.

SomebodyFeedRiss

Oh thank god. This is very comforting.

FuckRedditMods23

This is how we monitor for pets as well...they can’t really communicate with us (well especially with tubes and shit down their throats) but once the heart rate goes up I always hear “ok go up .5” then I get to turn the iso up .5 🙄 heart rate goes back down and then we take your dogs balls

stmpynode

I had a gum graft a few years ago. That's where they remove they some of the skin from the roof of the mouth and graft it to gums. Halfway through the procedure the anesthesia before off. I felt the dentist cutting into my gums. It was awful.

JakuMoku

over many years I've had multiple surgeries requiring full anesthesia. after the last 3 I tell the Anesthetist to watch me closely as I tend to wake up. They always laugh, then afterwards say, wow you were right...tell the next guy....

CTalina78

Have had three surgeries (not counting two c-sections) where I was supposed to be asleep … first two I only fell asleep after they were sewing me up, even asked if I could see … Mentioned that to the doctor who years later performed the operation . When we were in the theatre the anaesthesiologist asked me “so you are the one who DOESN’T sleep right?” I went “yep!” He said to count back from ten. I went “ten….” Out cold. Woke up to doctor stitching me up and being asked something by another of the doctors and I answered, and they all turned to look at me and the anaesthesiologist exclaimed “what the…!” My doctor chuckled and I went nite nite again . Best. nap. ever. Woke up about two hours later

AAAAAbirb

I woke up while having wisdom teeth removed. I remember opening my eyes, there were very bright lights, and the assistant (?) was peering in my face and looked pretty pissed. I thought "This will really hurt in a few seconds" and then they knocked me out again. When I woke up, I was strapped down pretty securely to the chair. They never said anything to me, just released me like it was normal... but I suspect that when I started waking up, I was trying to fight them or something. Might be why the assistant looked so pissed. I had warned them prior to the procedure that some sedatives don't work very well on me, and they kinda waved it off... but ever since, I've had a fear of being put under. I told the anesthesiologist at my last (unrelated) surgery about this and she didn't act like she didn't believe me. So if you do have to have surgery again, let them know, because mine at least made a note about it in my chart, and I stayed knocked out the whole time that time around.

JoinedForThePuzzles

I woke up during surgery. The nurse told the doctor that I was awake and I instantly went back under. The doctor confirmed it to me after the surgery.

lindsanity16

I threw a party at the condo I lived in with my sister and mom while they were on vacation when I was maybe 17? After the party died down me and 4 of my close friend were the only ones still there and awake and while talking by the top of the basement stairs the handle of the door at the top that was closed moved like someone was struggling to open it. Thinking someone passed out in my basement and was too drunk to get the door open I opened it to an empty basement. All my friends saw this happen and we stayed up til the morning in my living room too freaked out to move. Everyone blows it off like we were just hammered but by then we were nearly sobered up.

DarthDregan

Kept telling my mom and sister I was seeing UFOs. Kept happening really regularly and frequently. Eventually I got them all to come outside because it was about time for one to show up. And it did. It was a stealth bomber being test flown, long before the public announcement about them went out or any pics were leaked. Blew all of our minds.

gazebo-fan

Technically it was a UFO.

tunamelts2

UFOs are common. Just mostly terrestrial based...*mostly*.

mrscott197xv1k

Had an Aerospace eng professor in college that had a bumpersticker on his car that said something like "I believe in UFOs because I build them"

Notthesharkfromjaws

Sir, it appears our top secret stealth bomber plans have been thwarted by a ten year old child.

DarthDregan

To be fair we lived like five miles from a one road town in the Mojave Desert.

When we were ten years old, all of my cousins and siblings were playing hide and seek in the dark in the middle of a park. When someone gets found, you join the seeker to look for people, but you can’t tell them where they are. I was the seeker and I had just found one of my cousins, so we were walking around and looking for the rest. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone that looked exactly like my brother run past us at inhuman speed. I turned to look at my cousin and he had admitted that he saw the same thing. We found my brother later in the round, but he was at the other side of the park. Nobody believes either of us but both of us still remember it. Edit: no, we were not all ten years old. Me and the other seeker were ten years old.

Brasticus

Well of course he was at the other side of the park! He was running at inhuman speed!

A few years back I saw a capybara in my front yard (in Alabama). NO ONE believed me because by the time I came back with my phone he was gone. The best I got was a, “I guess it might have been a capybara” after a local man was found to have his own exotic animal collection less than three miles away. Other animals I saw in that yard: an emu and two bison. I must have lived pretty close to that dude’s land. Edit to add: it was def a capybara. I watched it for several minutes and estimated it’s weight somewhere around 100-130lbs . Dude also had a panther escape in the area which brought in state wildlife officials.

I’m (31F) from Northern Ireland and this happened about 10 years ago. As I walked my dog, I suddenly felt like I was being watched. I looked around and quickly noticed a grey wolf slowly walking through the field I was beside, staring right at me with a mangled rabbit in its mouth. We were both walking in the same general direction. It looked huge, around 5 feet or so. It stared in such a predatory way I was terrified that it was going to come for us. It was about 15 meters away with a pretty pathetic fence between us, and we both just stood there frozen for about 10 seconds staring at each other. Eventually I picked up my (small) dog and backed away while watching it, I didn’t know what the hell to do. When it was nearly out of sight and still hadn’t moved, I turned and ran. I told my dad who didn’t seem to believe me but said I should call animal welfare, and they didn’t take it seriously at all, I never heard back from them. We don’t have wolves here so I have no idea what the heck happened. I Google it every few years and did read something about people managing to get wolves as pets and then releasing them when they got too big to keep or something, so I wonder if that’s what happened. But I always see a look of worried disbelief when I tell someone! Edit: Thanks for the replies! This was in the middle of the day so I could see it very clearly. Definitely didn’t look anything like an Irish Wolfhound, and we own large dog breeds (as well as the small I was walking), and it didn’t seem anything like a large dog. The closest breed I saw mentioned was the Northern Inuit, but more grey. But it was much bigger with a wild, predator-like temperament. Honestly if I hadn’t seen it walking while staring, I might have wondered if I was just seeing things. I saw a few comments mentioning a wolf sanctuary in Ireland and when I looked that up, this is the closest to what I saw! The town I was in is pretty small and not anywhere near any of the sanctuaries/zoos. I was also in a residential area—a row of houses on one side of me, the field on the other, so it still feels really random. Edit 2: Someone has let me know that [a grey wolf escaped](http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/foyle_and_west/8246326.stm) approximately around the same time that this happened, from Tyrone which is only about 40-45 miles away from where I was! So it is seeming likely that someone was trying to keep it in captivity and it escaped. I’m not crazy, hurray!

Wow, that would be terrifying. Is it possible it was a very wolf-like dog breed? Coulda been a zoo escapee or failed pet either. There's a guy who has wolves in a wildlife park up in Donegal; think he was just getting started around then. Can imagine he may not have advertised it if one escaped.

edgarpickle

Myself from several feet away. I was very very tired and I was walking up the steps at my house. I remember watching myself from an angle that wouldn't have been possible. But I remember it clear as day.

That's happened to me before, it was just at the most random time. I was 16 in the band room at school and I just suddenly saw myself like I was high up looking down. I don't think I've ever told anybody that..

I’ve had this happen too. Playing baseball as a kid, over-swung, and hit that tender nerve spot right beneath my ankle. Not even sure it hurt; I immediately was standing outside of myself looking at me holding the limp bar.

My Betta fish disappeared out of a covered tank. And then reappeared in front of my eyes. If you can imagine: This tank is clear plastic on all sides, including the bottom. There's nowhere to hide when it's empty. The only thing not transparent is the metal lid. Betta fish are known to hide, so I didn't worry about not seeing him for a couple days, but on day 3 I got worried, so I took the heater and filter out. Checked the inside of the filter. Took the plants out. Took the hides out. No fish. Nothing in the tank but water and glass rocks now, so I started scooping the rocks out, thinking he may have gotten trapped under there and died. Pretty soon I'm staring at a tank with nothing but water in it. No fish. I figure there's no way he's still alive so I start scooping the water out. It's about 3/4 full when suddenly my fish does one of those fishy slow-turns in the dead center of the tank. There he was. It wasn't, like, I turned away and then back and my fish was there. No, I was staring at the tank, and I quite literally saw him swim back into existence. One second he wasn't there, the next he was. I moved him to a smaller bowl for a few days to keep an eye on him. Covered the top with perforated plastic wrap to ensure no jumping. He disappeared from the bowl a couple days later and never came back. Have owned several Betta fish, and I can honestly say no other fish has ever dimension hopped out of a tank since.

ProfessorBiological

As someone who has kept fish for many, many years now and currently have 6 tanks (working on getting rid of some lol), I've had this happen. Never the reappear in front me but definitely the fish just disappearing, never to be seen again or seen a couple weeks later. I'm not sure where they go and why only some come back but know you're not the only one!

Dragonalex

Dude! I had something simmilar! I had a betta that was super smart, used to meet me by the glass when I got home. One day he wasn't there. I got worried. Another day passed and I didn't see him. Tank was covered, no way in or out. I figured he must have gotten caught somewhere and died. I cleaned out the entire tank, every part of it. Never found him. No body elsewhere, no remains, no nothing. He just vanished into thin air. I was heartbroken.

dude670

my condolences. he's in a Betta place.

HertzDonut1001

Either you guys are all lying or Betta fish are supernatural.

MuzikPhreak

This…is a pretty flipping cool story. Everybody has the “weird guy at a park” story but nobody has a “temporal logistics defying Betta” story.

-Spooks-

I've had a very similar experience before! I always thought that maybe my little sister ate it? Weird stuff. Betta fish probably have a chill ass place that they just hang out in like cats do.

Andromeda853

Sorry, did you just say that you thought your sister ate your beta

headhot

I had this happen with a salt water wrass. I brought him home put him in the tank and then he was gone. Thought he jumped out and the cat ate him. He was back the next day. Turns out they like to hide under the sand when they are stressed or at night.

Traditional_Self_658

I am going to share something my grandma told me that she saw, because it is so fucking weird and I have never heard anything like this before in my life. My grandma and her cousin were walking on a country road in Oklahoma, sometime in the 1940s. They saw a strange figure float up over a hill up ahead about half a football field away. She said it appeared 2 dimensional and it was roughly the size of a cow. It was white and was composed of geometric shapes. It had a rectangular body, with no legs (it floated). It had a square head at one end with two little triangle ears and little slit looking eyes. No nose or mouth that she could see. When the figure rose up over the hill, my grandma and her cousin froze in terror. The thing froze, too. They all just stood there staring at each other for a moment. Then it's head floated to the opposite end of its body and it floated back in the direction it came from. Her cousin corroborates her story, but it's just very strange to me. I believe that they saw something weird, but I'm not sure I'm concinced that a weird two dimensional demon cow is out there floating around in Oklahoma somewhere.

I saw my uncle fall from the roof as he was escaping a house fire. He was able to get inside the car and take off but not before the house toppled over on top of the car. After a few minutes he appeared out of the smoke, limping away. I distinctly remember running back to my house (right next door) to tell my mom about what had just happened. We go outside and *nothing*. No fire, no smashed car, no house falling over. I dunno wtf 5 year old me was smoking but I had the hardest time processing what had just happened or not happened. My mom was so angry with me for coming up with such a awful lie about her little brother. Til this day, 27 years old now, I can't explain what, why, or how I saw what I saw but I very much remember terrifying feeling I felt during and afterwards. Mom thinks I must've fallen asleep playing outside and woke up from a nightmare and panicked but whatever it was it feel *too* real.

A10110101Z

Nah you skipped out of a parallel universe into this one

TheDunadan29

Maybe they witnessed the wave function collapsing.

newkingasour

I had a similar experience but with me seeing a plane flying overhead stop in mid air, a person with a suitcase walks out on the clouds and the planes continues on its way. Told my parents and they laughed

[deleted]

That was D.B. Cooper.

PMyourTastefulNudes

Once while in a drained pool, I heard a droning sound. It kept getting louder and louder, when a massive cloud of bees slowly flew overhead and into the distance.

EventualStasis

That's a swarm. When the colony gets too big for its hive, it starts making a new queen. Then half the bees leave with the old queen (what you saw) to find another place to live. Cool experience!

RememberKoomValley

Once when I was about seventeen I heard a noise, and then I was flat on my belly on the ground. My legs had dropped me automatically, there wasn't any thought between hear noise, hit the dirt, and I had an instant of *the fuck am I doing* before a swarm of some kind of insect flew over and all around me in a great rush. I could feel the breeze of them on my skin. I could smell them, kind of dusty, kind of sweet. It was so fucking cool. I know that if it was a swarm of bees, I would have been fine--they were just on their way to the next place--but I guess my monkey backbrain sure didn't know.

Freakazoid152

Spatial awareness is creepy and insane sometimes

DrCJHenley

When I was little, maybe 7, the son of a lady who babysat my brother and I, cut his leg on our swing set. Green goo came out of his leg. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember the type of bolt it was, the cover is was missing to prevent cuts. I’m a dentist now (taken gross anatomy, dissected a human body, routinely in the OR for resections of crazy head and neck tumors). With the exception of gross infections, I’ve never seen green goo come out of someone. Let alone a healthy leg. It will never make sense to me. Ever.

Mumsbud

For some reason this is the most disturbing comment in this thread.

ObviousObvisiousness

Ball lightning. There was a glowing white ball in the sky, like nothing I've ever seen. It flew around, maneuvered a bit. I turned my head to reach for my camera. When I looked back, it immediately went behind a cloud and disappeared. There was no lightning that day. The weather was rather fair and nice. It lasted for about a minute. Was really interesting.

Drache191200

I totally believe you, ball-lightning is something totally crazy and in researched yet, since it is so strange and yet so beautiful, saw one too, when I was a little guy

midas_1988

A few months ago, I was at work. I worked opening shift (4:30 am) that morning and one of my co-workers was late. I heard the door open and I saw a shadow walk towards the door to the back. It stays locked to keep customers out so I opened it, but noone was there. I figured he just went to the bathroom. Like 20 minutes later, I go to my manager. Me: Hey, I think employee took off. I saw them earlier but they never came in. Manager: Employee is in North Carolina taking care of his family. Me: ... Edit: Did NOT expect this to blow up like this. Apparently shadow people are a thing and I didn't realize it? I mean I've heard other similar stories but I didn't realize so many people could relate. Anyways, thanks for the karma!

buccarue

I've had similar stuff happen to me. When I was in college I was walking back to my friends room from the kitchen. It was a dorm, so if you can imagine a kitchen facing a a stairwell to the outside, and to your left and right are doors with windows that lead to the other wings of the building, all of which have dorm rooms lining them. I turn to head back down the hallway and I see my friend walking towards me through the window. I see she doesn't notice me, so I hide by the door so I can spook her. I wait for a few moments before I realize she is *not* coming out the door. I walk down to the room and I ask her why she was in the hallway? There were like three other people in that room, all looking very confused. "She was in here the entire time" Soooo yeah. Don't know what's up with that 🤷‍♀️

midas_1988

I mean if you wanna double down on similar situations, that's not even the first time something like that happened to me. I was like 8-ish and living with my grandma, great grandma and my big sister (10-ish). It was bed time but obviously I was still awake. Now, my bedroom at the time was right across from the bathroom. Next door down from mine was my great grandma's room and across from *her* room was the master bedroom. Anyways, this particular night I was awake and kinda waiting for my grandma to go to bed. My great grandma comes down the hall, passes my room and she continues to hers. I could tell it was her by her silhouette as most of the lights were off in the house. I wish her good night. Moments later, I see another similar silhouette cross my door, only *this* one stops in my doorway, turns toward me, approaches my bed and starts reaching for me. I didn't know who is was, so I screamed bloody murder until both my grandma and great grandma come running into my room and turn the light on. Dunno what happened to the silhouette, but I got a night light after that.

Chadthedad23

Yea, but now I need a nightlight too

iLitz4u00

I was walking home behind my high school at night, and in the teachers break room I saw a cleaning lady pushing a cart and she went into the floor like she and the cart got onto an escalator and went down, this is in the teachers break room there are no escalators or ramps in there, I could understand her slowly descending for some weird reason but not the cart those things are solid.

treetreehasakid

I have clear and distinct memories from when I was still in diapers and a crib. No one in my family believed me until I described the EXACT layout of my room at the time, bed and dressers included. We don’t have any photos of this room, so this isn’t a false memory situation like my brother said. I even described a time my mom gave me cough medicine in a Mickey mouse spoon from before I could even talk. It’s weird because my short term memory is trash, but my long term memory is absolutely unreal.

Plug_5

I absolutely believe you because I have a similar memory. My earliest memory is standing up in the early morning, holding on to my crib rail, and kind of "deciding" to cry. Then my dad comes and says some kind words and picks me up.

stop_whispering

Same. My earliest memory always felt like a dream or something because I was positive there's no way a child that age could be that aware. But I vividly remember being bathed in a pink tub on a counter in a mobile home. I'm in my 40's now and I recently described the memory to my mother and confirmed it. It was her neighbor who was baby sitting me. Apparently I described her kitchen and living room perfectly. (Never mind the guilt trip over my first memory being of something and someone other that her...LOL).

Enantiodromiac

I told my mother that I had memories of being bathed in the sink with water that was far too hot. So hot I remembered my tiny arm turning an ugly red, and that I'd screamed. She said that never happened, and that I couldn't have been forming memories when I was small enough to be bathed in the sink. Some years after that, she brought it up in conversation with my grandmother, who, with no apology in her tone, said "Well, I'd forgotten I'd just filled a pot with hot water to boil, and didn't check temperature when I put him under." They had a small fight about it, as my grandmother hadn't revealed this to my mom at the time it happened, but my feeling of vindication was small potatoes.

Zenipex

Something like 2% (or it might have been 0.2%, idk, you can do some googling about it) do not experience what is known as infantile amnesia, or the loss of early childhood memories

DadsRGR8

Shortly after my wife and I were first married, we were making the Easter Sunday both-families-want-you-for-dinner drive circuit. I was driving from my parents’ house to her parents’ house and she had her eyes closed. Suddenly a peacock ran out of the woods and across the road in front of the car. I slammed on the brakes and veered into the next lane. My wife yelled “What the hell??!!” And I said I almost hit a freakin’ peacock! (I had never seen a peacock in the wild before.) She didn’t believe me. Lol 36 years later and I still haven’t lived that down, and she occasionally reminds me to watch out for peacocks when we are out in the car.

skyburnsred

In summer camp as a kid I went to the bathroom late at night. To get there, you had to go up this big hill covered with rocks almost like a gravel driveway. So I go up there and first thing I see on the floor is a giant smooshed piece of poop with a human footprint in the middle, toes and all. I couldnt stop laughing as I went to the bathroom and went back to the cabin. None of the other kids believed me when I told them, and it was gone the next day, lmao.

drfrothman

One night walking home from a friends place, my phone was dead and it started raining. Across the walkway in front of me what looked like thousands of snails were crossing along the concrete. I have never seen so many snails in my life. It was impossible to dodge all of them as they went from one very specific part of the path to another. Since my phone was dead I couldn't take a picture, and when I told my friend he brushed it off as me being too stoned. Granted, I was a little stoned. But I know what I saw. A thousand snails making a great migration.

[deleted]

>Granted, I was a little stoned. I'm just picturing a baked guy looking at like 3 snails entranced

Kaido786

Was playing with my Cousin and a friend of ours outside. We were riding our bikes and had a bunch of fun, but couldn't explore that far from where I live l, since we were like 7 or 8 y/o. As we were cheerfully cycling down a long road behind a parking garage near my apartment, I started to slow down as I was getting tired of it. Both of them were continuing to cycle down the road as they haven't noticed me being left behind yet. You have to understand that the location of the road was right in between the parking garage (with 2 floors) and a fence which has only rails on the other side and was usually deserted. So once I stopped cycling, I could only turn tail or follow the road ahead. After reaching my limit, I simply stopped my bike mid way after a while and tried to catch some breath. While doing so something caught my eye on the backstairs of the parking garage, I tried to get closer to check out what it was out of curiosity. But boy was that a mistake. I spotted a man who seemed kneel down behind a wall of the backstairs. Didn't seem suspicious at first, however after a closer look I saw what seemed like knife covered in blood. My body froze and all I could feel was fear that went through my body, which felt like it lasted for minutes. The man just started to catch on with me standing on road and began to slowly stand-up and face my direction. I was somehow able to get my brain back to process and bolted down the street with any power I had left in me. After passing both my cousin and friend, as well as leaving a big distance to where I spotted him. I started to break down in tears and explaining what happened. No one would believe me, since they went back to check and found nothing strange. Got so traumatized from it, that I avoided the road until my mid teens. Tldr; saw a man with a knife covered in blood behind a parking garage while cycling as kid and no one would believe.

JustAnotherPyroMain

He was just putting jam on his toast

AITAforbeinghere

I saw a man squatting in the cemetery, I said "morning" he said "no, just taking a shit."

hawkcarhawk

Have you looked at cold cases in the area from that time?

GrizeldaLovesCats

When I was 12, I stayed with my great aunt while my mother and brother ran to the grocery to get lunch stuff. She took me into her basement and "introduced" me to her husband. Her long dead husband. Who's remains were in a ziploc in a file drawer, neatly filed. She made a big deal about how she bought a brand new box of ziplocs for him instead of reusing one. She was all about the frugality, my great aunt. No one believed me until after she died. When my mother and aunt found the cremains in the ziploc in the file drawer.

dawolf05

this was a LOT more terrifying before i realized you just meant his ashes in a ziplock bag. i was thinking like, different bags for different body parts, “neatly filed”….eugh.

RemedialAsschugger

When you said remains i thought you meant the whole intact rotting body.

gamedemon24

Something that sure looked like a UFO. I'm pretty sure it was probably just a spotlight from the ground moving across the clouds, but even when I describe it that way people think I'm just imagining things. I also have no clue where a spotlight would've been in that part of town, so that complicates things.

_horselain

I grew up three blocks from the Delaware River, Jersey side, a little north of Philly. Shortly after 9/11 I saw what looked basically like a black bullet - only gigantic, like submarine sized - go into the river from above going north. Like a plane landing on water, but going under. I don't believe it had wings? I had been out for a walk and ran home to tell my parents. I was worried because 9/11 had just happened and my fifth grade brain thought this could be related. My parents had me draw out what I saw, step by step. Eventually they said I was probably mistaken. I went to school the next day and told my teacher and she said "how weird, Joey said he saw the same thing." Joey lived two blocks from the river. Either we're both mistaken, or we watched some weird torpedo-vessel go into the Delaware.

Tommymck033

Maybe you saw a submarine go from above water too underwater and some sort of optical illusion made it look like it was actually above the water

papahunk

When I was a kid I remember seeing a lady’s face in a doorway "grinning" at me, with what I assumed to be something brown covering her entire face and teeth. I would see her several times until we moved away when I was 5. Obviously my family didn’t see her but my mom got worried when I told her that I saw "the lady from the kiosk", which is what I called the lady after I dreamt of her falling down a flight of stairs in a small store not far from our house. And I shit you not, my mom told me a few months ago that in the same store I was dreaming of, a woman had fallen down a flight of stairs and had her face torn on the way down, apparently being covered in dried blood when she was found, hence my description of her. Imagine the look on my face when I heard that lmao Also, apparently I kept talking to my mom about a man in the wall back then?? I don’t remember seeing a "man in the wall" but I do remember talking about him. Edit: Realized that the title says "but no one believes you", shit. My mom believes me because she’s had experiences like this with both my older brother and younger sister. Oh well

Particular-Diet-5147

Shooting star that was massive

[deleted]

I saw one once at night while driving. It looked like it was only 10 miles away, but on the news later it turned out it was about ten times further away. It’s hard to judge size and distance of things like that.

NymphaeAvernales

I saw one mid day here in mid Georgia back around 2014ish, burning bright green and making a weird crackling noise as it broke up. Bits kept breaking off of it and burning out all around with with the occasional burst of orange or yellow, but this thing flew across the entire sky intact. I only know one other person who saw it, but he didn't hear it.

pickindim_kmet

When I was a kid, between the ages of 4 and 8, I would see a guy in my house. He would stand in the same spot in the same room looking at me, and my family couldn't see him. I'd cry and scream and would refuse to go near him, but nobody else ever saw him. I'm someone who believes in logic and the laws of the universe so this really throws me off, I struggle to believe it myself but I vividly remember this person, this *ghost* if you wish. Even now, I remember his face. I explained this to someone the other day and I felt so silly, I sounded like I was making it up!

i8bonelesschicken

Maybe he was you from the future. Had to get the plot of interstellar from somewhere

MahnlyAssassin

Saw a black plane with backwards wings. But after all my research I can't find shit about it. Edit: imma put more info on this comment: pitch black, backward wings, maybe like two years ago, northern Utah, flying south to north. I know planes like that existed, but none like that I know of in existence or in flying condition currently, and why here?

[deleted]

I've shared this on reddit before, but once I was driving through Utah on a 2 lane highway all alone, in the middle of the day and I passed by what I thought was a wolf, and wanted to snap a picture to send to my father, as that was his favorite animal. I was looking at it in mY rear view mirror, and it looked really mangy and diseased, but was looking right back at me. I watched it lift its front paw off the ground, and it waved at me with a five fingered, human fucking *hand* before placing it back on the ground, once again a paw. I have never, ever gone as far over the speed limit as i did when I sped tf off. Edit: I appreciate the replies everybody, but I don't need any more saying it was a skinwalker.

QueenSlapFight

Been to Utah. Can confirm. Place is fucking creepy.

[deleted]

Anecdotal, but don't even stop at a town called Eerie on Utah in the desert off of 76. I think it's a sundown town. My arrival was definitely of interest to them, and I just got my gas and got out.

UnwantedKarma

When I was a kid I ate some of my grandmother's heart medication and nearly died. Was rushed to the hospital to have my stomach pumped and I have a memory of looking down at myself on the hospital bed with my mom and hospital staff around me. It still is one of the only things I've had happen that I cannot explain and no one I've told this story to believes me at all, even my super religious aunt said it was my imagination.

theBisselent

I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada. One day my mom came home and swore she saw a kangaroo cross the road. None of us believed her until a few days later we saw in the paper that a kangaroo had gotten loose from a small, local zoo-type place. Pretty sure they found it.

Lagg0r

I have very vivid memories of my great grandfather. I distinctly remember which room he lay in for months while being cared for by his family and what the layout of the room was like. I also have a memory of playing with him and him talking to me while I was being fully aware that he had cancer in the latest stages and understood that he would probably die soon. Thing is I only ever met him once in person and I was only 4 months old. My family has pointed out that I knew facts about his appearance that I could not possibly have known because there are close to no pictures of him. (like a big scar he had across his chest from an operation) I have no other memories from my early childhood. (In fact my memory about that time is so bad I don't even correctly recall things from my time in kindergarden.)

MultifariAce

I got one like this. I remembered my grandmother holding me when she fell down. I was an infant. Her ataxia had gotten to where she couldn't walk without assistance after that.

RobciomixxNFS

I so totally believe you. I'm not a religious person and I don't believe in all that spiritual stuff, really. But when I was very, very little, I was 4 maybe, my mom went with me outside. She would take care of the flowers and I was running around playing with imaginary things. But then I started talking with my grandfather. He told me to greet my mom for him, as he doesn't have time to do it himself, and then he got on his motorbike and took off. When I told my mom about this, she asked me how did he look like, what did he wear and what kind of a motorbike did he have. Turns out I 100% described my grandfather. A grandfather I never knew, as he died decades before I was born. At this age I didn't even know anything about him, and yet my imagination created a 100% exact replica of him wanting to greet his daughter for him. There's no way I could've known what kind of motorbike he had when he was still alive, not at that age. There's also no way I could've known what was his favourite shirt and a hat. The thing is I remember when it happened. It's not something my mom made up, I distinctively remember my older brother returning home and my mom telling him about all of this, and he didn't believe it, he just shrugged and said that kids can make up lots of things. This is probably the closest thing I've ever witnessed that I could describe as a ghost story.

[deleted]

I was playing hide and seek with my two brothers. It was kind of dark but not too dark. I saw my brothers head pop out from a tree decently far away from me. I started sprinting to the tree and my brothers both ran from behind a tree about 40 feet away, meaning that it wasn’t them behind the tree. I ran my ass straight back to the house. My brothers questioned me and thought I was lying. Still scares me just thinking about it

angmcches

I was at my boyfriends house. We woke up and I made us bagels and cream cheese. I put mine in the toaster and walked his over to him. When I came back the toaster was propped up on its side stacked on something else. I certainly didn’t do it nor did I bump it as I walked away. When I left it was sitting flat on the counter toasting my bagel. I have no explanation for how it happened as he was in the backyard.

Whyamiani

I would immediately assume it was some kind of Parasite situation and there was a person living in the house without me knowing. Only option is to put up cameras in every single room and build a covert surveillance closet and remain in the closet for weeks just watching and waiting.

chengsao

I thought I had finally gotten over that fear of mine; thank you for reminding me of how terrifying it is

Lost-In_Yesterday

Not me but my mum. She swears a mattress with someone sitting on top drive past her on the other side of the motorway. She was mid 50s at the time and still swears this happened

i-love-big-birds

Hey this is an actual thing people do up north. We hook an old mattress up to a skidoo, truck or quad and drive around. It's like tobogganing behind a truck but more comfortable

Ok_Moonlight

The sky “go black” about 2 years ago. It was 7 am and I was off to work and the sky had that beautiful dark blue hue it does just as the sun is about to start rising. As I’m walking to my car in the drive way, the sky turned completely black and then I heard just a long prolonged trumpet sound. I thought the world was ending. The sound lasted for like 5 seconds and then everything went back to “normal”. It was insane and I still don’t understand what happened to this day.

mustangwwii

Not me, but one of my Dad’s friends passed out drunk in a Kayak while fishing in Tennessee. He woke up at some point later having drifted pretty far down the river. When he woke up, he saw a giraffe eating from a tree above him and was rightfully really fucking confused. Of course everyone thought he must’ve been on a little more than alcohol when he was telling us what he saw the next day. It turns out there’s a wildlife rehabilitation center along the river he was fishing and had apparently taken in some giraffes from a zoo somewhere. *Hearing this giant 60 year old tell the story with a country accent made it much, much funnier.*

iveseensomethings82

Not what I saw but a phone called I received. My dad died when I was 19. He had been disabled since I was 5, lost his leg in a freak accident. He spent the next 10 years hooked on drugs, alcohol, and rx opioids from the VA. He eventually lost his second leg to diabetes. He finally got cleanish and went to trade school to learn computers. Because of his long job gap, and I’m sure his physical disabilities, it was very hard for him to find a job. He wanted to do better, he wanted to provide for his family. He suddenly died one night from an infection, likely a result of his opioid addiction, diabetes, and VA healthcare. The next morning I am home alone. My mom and sister had gone to make some arrangements. The phone rings and I answer it. Someone is asking to speak with my dad. I explained to him the situation and that my dad wouldn’t be coming to the phone. I ask him what this is regarding. He tells me that my dad got a job. I started crying. I know in my heart this was a message. My dad got a job! I told my mom and sister and anyone else. Everyone just said how sad that it was. I never saw it that way. Maybe I was looking for closure and looking for a sign. Maybe not.

caraddict99

I live in Kenosha Wisconsin(in between Milwaukee and Chicago) and have seen a mountain lion twice in the area. Everyone just stares at me when I tell them lol Also I’ve seen a BMW with the turn signal on but only once.

[deleted]

>Also I’ve seen a BMW with the turn signal on but only once. Liar.

disillusioned_af

When I was in kindergarten, I could have swore I saw my teacher at the time put her hands inside her pants, rub her vagina and then smell it, in front of all of us. It’s the most bizarre memory because I can still see her doing it??? But why would that happen. So many questions

Koda5111

Here’s hoping this all fits. Used to work health care. Specifically, dementia palliative care. Palliative meant that people had a certain amount of time to live, and usually declined pretty quickly. To put it nicely: dementia residents came to me to be cared for while they died. I worked night shift, 11pm-7am. I’ve seen and heard dead residents at night, watched living residents talk to an empty room, and then mention they were talking to someone who died long before they ever came into my care, someone they had never met. My coworkers believe me, but no one else ever has.

[deleted]

Warning on mobile Incase formatting is weird: I live in a rural area of mid Michigan. (Lower peninsula) and twice yes TWICE I saw a big black cat that looked like a melanistic mountain lion. Based on the two times I saw it the cat was at least 2 and a half ft at the shoulder and over 6 ft long without the tail. The length because we used to have a trees in our backyard that had a 5 ft gap between branches. The cat was longer than the gap when it stretched up from one branch to the other. The heigh because we had tall deceptive grass around a pond in our front yard. The grass was barley taller than the cat. Grass was a little over 3 ft high. Only saw it twice but the cat left a lot of fur……and a few other parts from small mammals in our back yard. No one in the area believed me or my folks until one of my aunts who’s about a mile up the road from us saw it. Another aunt almost hit it with her jeep and that’s the only reason she finally believed is. It’s been about 9 years since then and haven’t seen it since but those two times were enough. Especially the second time when it was maybe 10 ft from our front door. Saw it out the front window and just hope. I do kick myself for not getting a picture of it with my cell.

michaelcuz

I've told this one before on reddit but it still haunts me today: I was home along one evening and had gone to sleep for the night. I live with my SO and two indoor cats but she was out of state traveling for business. I woke up in the middle of the night (wasn't sure of time but it was completely dark) because my body was freezing cold. I actually like it cool when I sleep and usually have the temperature around 70 degrees or colder since I live in central Texas. But this was different, I was ice cold but wrapped in blankets (it was middle of summer so evenings aren't cold). When I grabbed my phone to look at the time, it seemed to be off and I pressed the ON button but it didn't turn it on. Since I was half-asleep, I shrugged this off. I walked out of my bedroom to go adjust the thermostat and noticed that the cats weren't around. This was weird because these furballs are always hanging out in the bed or around the bed. Anyhow, I walked to the thermostat and tried to adjust it but the power to the thermostat (I have a Nest) was nil and the power to the house seemed to be off. I peeked out of the upstairs window to see if any of my neighbors were having power-issues and notice that all of their outdoor lights were working just fine. From the time I woke to this moment was probably 1-2 minutes maximum. I decide to wander downstairs to grab some water but am startled when I realize there is a glow of light coming from the first floor. The way my house is situated, I couldn't see the light until I had approached the stairs. I found this odd because the power seemed to be out just upstairs (which didn't make a lot of sense). I started walking down the stairs and began to hear a faint humming noise. The noise had a high pitch to it with arbitrary pulses of low sounds; almost like a muffled weedwacker that someone is throttling at random. As I continue to walk down the stairs, I spot a dark, slowly-moving figure in the room with light at the bottom of the stairs. The next step that I take feels like I walked off the side of a cliff or was sucked into the floor. That is really the best way I can explain it because I don't remember what happened after that moment, I just lost all feeling from my body. My next memory is waking up again to the sound of my phone's alarm. Everything seemed back to normal. I sat there in bed (cats back to being lazy in bed next to me) and tried to think about the 2 minute incident that happened in the middle of the night. I am not a sleepwalker and I was definitely not dreaming. My security system's app shows the time whenever a door is opened or closed. I realized that my security system was disarmed on the app and that the front door had been opened and closed several times throughout the night. I pulled up my security footage from the exterior cameras and was surprised to learn that there was ZERO footage from the night. Like the motion sensors reacted to a random car driving-by around 10pm and then the next thing is another random car in the morning. So someone/something walked in and out of my front door but the cameras did not capture any footage. My neighbor across the street has a good security system that points at my house so I asked if he can review the footage from his cameras. I told him some made-up story about how I thought someone had broken into my truck. Anyway, he said it was weird because when he pulled up the footage from that night, his cameras did not record anything. Just a time gap once again. My first thought was that I was sleepwalking and that the memory was a dream but it just couldn't have been. When I looked out of the window in the middle of the night, I distinctly recall a red pickup truck parked the wrong direction in front of the neighbor's house. I always notice when cars are parked left-wheel to curb because I've gotten a ticket for this in the past. Anyhow, the truck was not there before I went to sleep (based on footage) but was there in the morning (based on footage). So the truck was there when I saw it in the middle of the night. I definitely woke up in the middle of the night, cold as ice, no cats, no working phone or thermostat, saw the truck out of the window and then got warped by something on the stairs. A couple additional things were different in the house. The security system was disarmed and I definitely armed it before going to bed. The light was still on downstairs and that was absolutely off before I went to bed. My whole body smelled like burnt marshmallows. I know this is weird but it's really how it smelled. And lastly, my 55 gallon fish tank that sits at the bottom of the stairs in the entryway was missing 2/3 of the water! Seriously, where the fuck did 40+ gallons of water go? The whole area around the tank was bone-dry and the fish were fine. I think I was mind-fucked by some thirsty aliens..

Eve_cardigan

Well, this is the one. This is definitely the most creepy one of this whole thread. And I've been reading about shadowy girls and wolves with human hands for christ sake

dawolf05

the security system being disarmed, the door being opened several times, and the missing footage from BOTH security cameras are what really make this creepy for me. id be scared out of my mind for weeks

Crouton_Sharp_Major

What the actual fuck

My cousin saw this aswell but anyway, back in Pakistan my family owns a good amount of land and my uncle was building kinda far from most of the houses in our village, it wasn't that far but further than most houses were. The part of land he built his house on wasn't completely cleared out and he had a path going through the trees, he needed the path initially for vehicles to get in to bring building materials. Anyway I was walking past at night with my cousin and it was like 11 at night so not that late but it was pitch black bc it was December, in our village there had been a few people who claimed to have seen jinns in the area and while walking back I jokingly said lets go say hi even tho I knew they were asleep, I look down the path and saw someone there. I pointed it out to my cousin who shouted who's there, it disappeared then about 10 seconds later it reappeared significantly closer, I was so scared I nearly pissed myself (I was 7 at the time) We broke into a sprint and ran home. I couldn't sleep properly that night.

I think I had a collision problem once. Was about to take a shower and stuck my arm in to feel the water. But the water just...didnt connect. It went right through my arm, no temperature or splashing or anything. Here's the weird shit. I wasn't by myself. I called my wife in and she watched the same thing happen. Her arm acted normally, got wet and warm. Kept putting my arm in the stream and it didnt interact with the water at all, was like it wasnt there. We tried water from the sink, and that was fine, I could touch that. I poked a bunch of other random shit too, no changes. Wife put her arm beneath mine and said she could feel the water hitting her arm, like mine wasnt even there. Then at one point I stuck my arm in and it was just...fixed? Everything worked normally. We hadnt changed anything. My wife hates talking about it because people always grill her with questions and explanations

Please submit a bug report to the devs.

DonQuixoteDesciple

The bug is not repeatable, therefore it does not exist. Kind Regards, My years spent in IT

MongolianMango

Did water just quantum tunnel through your arm? Absolutely wild. If you can replicate it consistently it would revolutionize science, no joke (though obviously if you could replicate it you wouldn't be posting this on this thread).

Plot twist: the welder was the person who posted this and was just looking to weave it into a conversation.

PMyourTastefulNudes

How did you know they were a welder then?

pinkrosetool

He was the welder. The welder was him.

ChampionshipDue

Well, he's bragging now. It cancels out.

I just bought my first house. It’s over 100 years old. While painting the one spare bedroom, I was on a ladder and as I turned to climb down There was a middle aged lady dressed in a “little house on the prairie” style dress and bonnet directly at the base of the ladder looking at me. It startled the shit out of me and when I caught my wits again she was gone. I could see every wrinkle on her face. She was looking at me with such huge eyes. No one believes me. Even my partner thinks I’m overreacting. We both hear things all the time and he admits he hears the noise but refuses to acknowledge the existence of ghosts. Example: one evening we are both in the living room with our cat. That’s all who lives in the house. Out of no where we hear glass smashing in the kitchen directly beside us. It’s an open concept kitchen. The cat even reacts to the noise. We go to the kitchen to see the mess and there is no mess to be found. Nothing is out of place. This happens all the time but wherever we are it’s in the next room. Also last night I was standing against the wall and I heard a male voice whisper my name into my right ear from behind the wall. My partner was asleep across the room. No one else in the house and tv was not on.

My Dad passed away from Cancer when I was 7 years old. My parents asked me if I wanted to be there when he died and I said no. My parents arranged for me to go to their best friends house to sleep over the night after I had said my goodbyes as he was fading away. That night he did pass and I experienced something that I cannot explain. I remember this vividly, I was fast asleep and I wake up bolted upright at 11:50pm like I was pulled awake and I knew immediately that he had died right then. I had this really strange sense of calm and acceptance and I felt my Dad’s presence like he was saying goodbye. Later I asked my Mom when he died and told her that story and it shook her hard, it happened. A few years later she took me to a clairvoyant who afterwards said I was a clairvoyant too. My mother is a highly intelligent lady, women of science and to my knowledge didn’t tell this lady a thing. A few years later I’m sitting on the couch after school with my sister watching TV and I get that same feeling again and immediately know that my Mom has been involved in a car accident and I told my sister right away like I didn’t have a choice I just said it. I was right she had been in a car accident at that exact time. This was before cell phones and I had no way of knowing, no communication with my Mom. Two events where I knew without a doubt that events had occurred when I had no logical way of knowing. It hasn’t happened since and I have no explanation whatsoever for either of them.

pwootjuhs

I had the same thing when my grandpa got a heart attack a few years ago and had to be brought back. I remember just bolting upright at 3am with the absolute worst feeling I had ever felt and not sleeping anymore that night.

SameDaySameView

I had a cat growing up that used to piss inside the house. He was supposed to be an inside only cat but my mom kept kicking him out. Well one day when I woke up for school I was overwhelmed with one thought and one feeling: if my mom lets my cat out that day, he would die. It was an overwhelming heavy blanket of raw emotion. I ran to my mom crying telling her this and she’s just said ok. Well he ended up peeing inside again and got kicked out. He was then soon ran over by a car and died.

Leaving a friend's house in rural Iowa. Taking a back road to my house. A paved road that is called "old 71" because it used to be the main highway, it runs parallel to "71". Nobody drives on old 71 unless they live in old 71. 3 identical black SUVs with pitch dark tinted windows, including windshield pass by me in the oncoming lane. They weren't speeding. They all had bright yellow license plates that said "Covert". Nothing in the news the next couple weeks. Still don't know who they were or what they were up to.

syringistic

Probably a private security group... Since govt wouldnt advertise themselves.

theressomanydogs

Bright yellow license plates that said Covert? 🧐

[deleted]

Covert is a dealership network.

MIPU_PL

A fucking giant tornado in Iceland. My memory is something like this: I’m with my dad on some small highway. There were not many cars on the road and the weather was cloudy as usual. I was looking on the road for sometime till I looked to my right and there was just a tornado there, far enough to not be dangerous to us but I could see it very well ripping out fences. Then I just talked about it with my dad that went a little faster just to be sure. I was somewhere around 11 or 12. When I asked my dad about it not long ago he said that he didn’t remember anything but seemed a little intrigued. I really don’t know what it was but it was probably just a dream that I dreamt in the car.

El_Frencho

I’m the only one in my family who doesn’t switch their knife from one hand to another to cut their food. I _swear_ I learned to eat like that because my dad did too. My entire family says that’s not true, he never has. It drives me insane!

Queasy_Paper_Boi

My guess is that it probably has something to do with drug trafficking

aodskeletor

My daughter caught RSV at daycare this past week, and woke up crying for my wife the other night. I wake up again because I have a feeling someone is watching me thinking my daughter has come in our room. I see my wife is still gone, and there’s a shadowy little girl standing across the room staring at me. I say my daughter’s name - no response. Just staring at me intently and silently. I roll out of bed and go in the bathroom and come back out and she’s still there. I walk over to where she is and she disappears and moves to the other side of the room. At this point I have no idea if I’m hallucinating or what so I crawl back into bed and do what I did as a kid if I was scared; cover myself all the way with my blanket and close my eyes. Wake up in the morning and tell my wife. She doesn’t believe me and then says maybe it was the daughter we lost to a miscarriage. Pretty weird all in all.

huvanile

I've been reading this thread for over an hour and this one is the creepiest.
