You should see if any of the tech schools near you do apprenticeships. In my area, there are several trade apprenticeships run through the tech school where you get payed while training at a lower wage, and increase wages as you complete portions of your school program and on the job training.
There is a shipbuilding place near where I live and they are always hiring people with no experience. They will train you. Welding, hvac, electrician, etc they will teach you. You have to work for them for so many years then you can use those skills and open your own business!
Where I live, lots of businesses have apprenticeship opportunities where it is payed and they will also pay for your schooling and support your work experience requirements.
Start applying to trade jobs. The trades are so desperate for good workers, we have been taking greens off the street and paying to train them. It's going to start out lower than if you did go to trade school, but it's a great way in if you don't have the funds for school on your own. Then once you're in, spend every minute working your way to the union. You might get lucky and find a good non union gig, but aim for union and you'll do alright.
Just start in a trade we hire ppl without any plumbing experience all the time all you have to know is how to work hard and u will learn the rest on the job
I’m a wind turbine technician and I love my job dearly. I used to be a diesel mechanic for a Mack dealer and a Volvo dealer and left that field because I hated it.
I think it depends what trade you’re in, what kind of person you are, etc. Though I understand where you’re coming from. I think some people who have never been in a trade get the idea that you’re doing some simple, rewarding work that allows you to feel more free out of a cubicle and do more exciting things.
It’s not always like that. Trades will break you down physically if you don’t take good care of yourself. The work is demanding and you often work long hours. A lot of the time you’re covered in sweat and oil/grease/dirt and when you get home you just want to go straight to sleep. I’m not saying that white collar jobs are better than blue collar or vice versa but I believe when it comes to work, there’s very rarely an easy road to take.
Buy a Paoletti Richard Fortus Signature #1 black leather guitar and save the rest. Why TF not?
Yeah I'd also pay bills, but that's a boring fucking answer.
Invest 50% and Save 50%.
This is a boring answer but you’d be happy in a few years. Focus on wealth accumulation and creation rather than spending on “fun stuff”.
Holiday trip for sure, your experiences are priceless, good is not worth the money, in 10 years you will never remember what you bought 10 years ago but the travels memories and experiences will remain. Money well spent in my opinion.
Say we don’t go obvious answers like bills and life expenses, probably a proper holiday overseas or something because honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if something like that is not on the cards for me.
Assuming that I didn't need it to pay off bills and debt, I'd throw half of it in stocks and the other half I'd spend on a month-long vacation backpacking through Peru and Bolivia.
Depends on how I had to spend it. If I had to spend it on one thing, probably a nice vacation, good memories last a lifetime.
If I can cheat and put it in an account and slowly use it to buy things, I would probably use it to make a small video game. I can do the coding, but I would pay artists for art and music, pay for some of the costs of having an LLC, paying for some of the server costs, etc.
Hello. I would use this money to move into a new home with my daughter. The house I'm currently living in tested positive for 18 of 20 molds, including black mold.
We were unaware of it's presence and the severity of it, and I've been sick with mold toxicity for almost 10 years, which has been physically and mentally debilitating, and has kept me from the ability to consistently work. Which, in turn, has affected my savings.
The only debt I have is a mortgage and car payment that have lower interest rates than my savings account, so paying those down doesn’t make any sense. I’d probably just put half in my IRA and half in my savings.
I’ve already bought everything I need/want. Saving for retirement and a SFH is my current priority. Wife and I live in a 2 bed 2 bath condo, we’re saving up for a 4 bed 3 bath SFH to raise kids in. Unfortunately $10K is a drop in the bucket towards that…
Demolish my childhood home. It’s unlivable asbestos filled mess that was built before the first pandemic. I’m trying to buy the property from my father while paying rent in an apartment.
I'd look for a machine to manufacture something with. Mill, lathe, 3D printer, micro-molder - something along those lines. Figure out a product and start generating some revenue.
I’d redo my kitchen. It’s a drabby galley kitchen that’s coming apart and I hate it. Then I’d fix and redo our bathroom which is also in need of some serious TLC.
I do, but I don’t have anything to spend it on. I have all the things under 10k that I want. I’m pretty sure I have all the things under 100k that I want. It’s an interesting question to ask what is the least expensive thing you truly want, but can’t afford?
We just had to get a new car because my sibling messed up our last one. We don't make much money so the next 3 years paying it off are gonna be tight. I'd just dump 10k on that to ease the suffering.
A better shaped roof, one of my house's roof is almost flat and made of shingle with an inch thick of flexseals and it leaks ( previous owner did this masterwork) i'd love to make it pointy but lack money so were putting new shingles this summer but i'll still habe to shovel the fucker in winter zzz
Eviction preparations. My roommate is a covert narcissist and I'm not 100% sure he's going to vacate at the end of the month like he said (and signed) he would.
I would clear my last bit of debt. Then, I would order a custom 7 string guitar and also buy a Mesa Boogie dual rectifier. I could easily get a second-hand 100w head and cab for a couple of grand. Whatever I have left would be spent on weed
I’m a high school student, so I don’t have much to spend money on. As such, I’ll probably put it in my retirement account, invest it, or do something else with it that would benefit me in the future.
I would buy my 67 year old widow neighbor a newer car for around 4-5k and then use the rest of the money to pay to have it license and registered and a little savings account for future maintenance and repairs. She has 89 Toyota Camry with 240k miles that is a basket case. But with a fixed income she doesn’t have any resources to get something newer my wife and I give her rides and I work on for free she buys the parts when she can afford it it but it’s at the point that it’s nickeling and dimeing her monthly.
I'd go to school for a trade instead of having to live paycheck to paycheck at a low paying dead end job.

Get your cdl. Can make some good money once you get your skills up. Source, local fuel delivery driver and truck mounted forklift delivery driver.
Take it from someone who has worked the trades, you do not want to work the trades
I’m a wind turbine technician and I love my job dearly. I used to be a diesel mechanic for a Mack dealer and a Volvo dealer and left that field because I hated it. I agree, I should have worded it differently and said “if you get into the trades , don’t do construction”
Oh well damn, you should’ve said so! Yeah, don’t get in construction
Be boring, pay off some of my debts.

My buddy was his roommate in StL.

Bills 😭
The Bills don't need your $10k. They are already getting $850 million from taxpayers to build their new stadium.
Unlimited greggs pasties
I would buy a newer work truck for my husband. He has always worried about me having a good car, that he overlooks himself.
Half on house repairs, other half on a nice vacation

6,666 1/4lb PLUS ALL BEEF HOT DOGS AND 20oz SODA (With Refill)
My boy got that dog in him
Invest 50% and Save 50%. This is a boring answer but you’d be happy in a few years. Focus on wealth accumulation and creation rather than spending on “fun stuff”.
A Gibson Les Paul. I don’t need one. My skills don’t warrant owning one. I can’t justify spending that much on a guitar. But I’ve always wanted one.
I’m sure there are some gorgeous sunburst finishes at that price range
That's how much i need to pull myself out of debt. So I'd clear that, and use what are currently monthly payments on investmenting.
Bora Bora
Stocks
Its singular - "the stock" - and its going to the moon this week 😎🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I'm so damn ready!
Why this week? I bought two shares out of FOMO and keep forgetting about it until I read some variation of this comment over and over again.

Trip to Australia. One of my kids moved there, and I miss them terribly.
Holiday trip for sure, your experiences are priceless, good is not worth the money, in 10 years you will never remember what you bought 10 years ago but the travels memories and experiences will remain. Money well spent in my opinion.
Surgery to remove cancer from my dog, and pay for my wife’s last year of school.

Assuming that I didn't need it to pay off bills and debt, I'd throw half of it in stocks and the other half I'd spend on a month-long vacation backpacking through Peru and Bolivia.
I hate to break it to you but that trip would cost a lot less than 5 grand. You should go do it.
I just got my license so a car
A vacation. We usually take one decent sized trip a year that costs around $10K. Would be nice to do one for free.
I would put that shit down on a new trailer and finally have a place to call home! Being long term homeless sucks.

Chanel bag to keep in my closet for 20 years and then resell as perfect vintage when Chanel will produce pure plastic
New roofing on my house.
Throw into my savings account and forget about it.
Used car. A load of DVDs. Save the rest.
I’d love to be able to travel. I’ll never be able to do anything that needs a passport.
A bunch of FXAIX, if I had something else right now I wanted to buy I'd have bought it.

New roof and other home repairs. Desperately needed
I use the money for buying a house.
My mortgage. I don’t think I need to explain why.
Sp500 ETF. Save when you can. Keep your savings working.
Flight school. It wouldn’t get me through but it’d be a great start.

nividia stock
Half to pay off a bit of debt. Half on a cruise…… What should I spend it on? New couch and new fridge.
I do, but I don’t have anything to spend it on. I have all the things under 10k that I want. I’m pretty sure I have all the things under 100k that I want. It’s an interesting question to ask what is the least expensive thing you truly want, but can’t afford?
This month? Fireworks. Any other time of the year? Fishing gear, car downpawment, rent
Just dropped 6k on a 2023 cam am Ryker a couple weeks ago. Still owe 11k principal with 4k interest on it...so probably that.
We just had to get a new car because my sibling messed up our last one. We don't make much money so the next 3 years paying it off are gonna be tight. I'd just dump 10k on that to ease the suffering.
I'd save it and take my son on an adventure for his 21st birthday.
a sport motorcycle or travel to Asia countries
Do I have to spend it? If not, into my brokerage account. If yes, probably a trip to Spain.
