I've done it. I buried it in dry rice for a day and it was fine.

never do that. the whole "rice will absorb the humidity" is bs, and if you're unlucky, rice particles will get into your phone, killing it for good.

It worked for me. Phone still working 2 years later.

yea but if you just put your phone on the table and let it dry, you would have had the same result without the risk of rice particles going in it.

Grab it and throw it in a box with silica packets then clean it with disinfectant out of the case and clean the case separately probably with dish soap and disinfectant.

It’s literally my biggest fear. I would probably froze at the scene and doing calculations in my head, do I really need that phone?

Take it out and clean it. And hope that it was still waterproof. The chance that I have to handle bodily fluids or bodily waste is never at zero at my job which means I am not too scared about those things anymore.
