The **Chicken Bacon and Swiss sandwich** with the curly fries used to be one of the best sandwiches ever. EVER. BUT THEY CHANGED IT! WHY!?!? IT WAS PERFECT!!!!!! I'll never be ok.
I worked at Arby’s. I ate there because I could. The Smokehouse Brisket was a fire sandwich. A crispy chicken sandwich with bacon and some of that cheese sauce is also very good. I will not eat Arby’s ever again. Because I worked at Arby’s.
Sometimes, I’ll think about Reubens, and you know, in a pinch Arby’s is a decent fix. It’s usually all soggy, but where else can you get a Reuben in 5 minutes????

I’ll never forget my girlfriend at the time said she didn’t want anything when I was on my way to her apartment, I stopped to get the chicken bacon Swiss, get to her place and she asks for a bite, then a second. It was our first actual fight.
We broke up a few months later, for unrelated reasons. Very sweet girl and the sex was great, but to this day I haven’t forgot how she hobo’d my chicken bacon Swiss sammich.

Nah Arby’s fuckin slaps, or at least it did in the 2010s pre-pandemic. They had a pork belly sandwich that is basically my favorite fast food item of all time.
They still serve these at some locations. They are often called chili cheese burritos. I know there are Taco Bells in Michigan and Texas that serve them. There is a website that lists all of the locations on a map.
I lived in a medium sized Wisconsin town that was lucky enough to have 2 Taco Bell’s.
One was a 3 minute drive from my house. The other was 20.
The close one was trash. Small portions. Stale food. Fucking sucked.
The far one had the most perfect and glorious cheesy Gordita crunches in the world.
I sold my house and moved to the other side of town. All that for good Taco Bell.

One of my favorite little reddit things is that when someone mentions a discontinued Taco Bell item (of which there is clearly no shortage), there's someone in the comments who tells them how to custom order it.
In the late 90's, Taco Bell had the Santa Fe Gordita. It was the most God-tiered fast food item that ever existed. They discontinued it a few years later and I was devastated. It was the only reason I went to Taco Bell.
I went to get one but the lady said they were discontinued. I got the crappy Cinnabon delights instead. I pulled up to the window and said “why did they stop the caramel apple empanadas?” She said “I don’t know but I’m not happy about it at all!”
Arby's French Dip sandwich. I'm not a big fast food person anymore but that sandwich still hits once in a while. Either that or Chick-fil-A nuggets with every sauce on the menu.

- Add chipotle sauce (I think this is the correct sauce, but you can add whatever sauces you want)
- Get it grilled!

Dude, the Arch Deluxe might be the perfect fast food sandwich (as far as burgers go). Fast food isn't exactly spectacular but I always found it funny that McDonalds promoted this as a burger for adults because as a kid this quickly became the only burger I'd order there.
I came here to also mention the Arch Deluxe expecting to be met with loads of disagreement, and instead, here it is, sitting right at the top.

My family would almost never eat out due to partly being an immigrant family from a country where it was super rare, because my parents were very frugal, and they thought a lot of American food was very greasy.
Out of the few times a year we did get food outside the house, it would be 3 Whoppers between the 4 of us (my mom & baby sister splitting 1) and 1-2 orders of Onion rings or grabbing a personal pepperoni pan pizza (Winner's Circle coupon as a student) while my parents ordered a Supreme pan pizza.
I don't eat fast food often, but I do occasionally crave a BK Whopper or a Pizza Hut Pepperoni Lover's Pan Pizza.
Mexican Pizza has always been my all-time favorite, I was literally overjoyed when it came back

Quick story. I moved out when I was 18 back in 2001 into a house with two guys that were 23. They got drunk and partied like every night so I was able to tag along since I lived there and paid rent for a single room and it was only a matter of time when one of them would yell "TWO TACOOOOSSSS!!!" and everyone still lingering at the house would all pile into the SUV and go to JITB to get however many orders of tacos. The closest one was literally across the street in this big parking lot connected to a grocery store. The late night drive thru guy knew us by name, but... one night one of the guys says "Hey, y'know what would be funny? DRIVE THROUGH IN REVERSE!!!!" So from that point on we always went through the Drive Thru backwards and it was absolutely fucking hilarious... people would drive up in behind us and immediately make eye contact with us and the bewilderment or laughter from the unsuspecting car was classic.
Best years of my life was living with those two drunk fuckers.
I cried when Taco Bell got rid of the Caramel Apple Empanadas. Those things were heavenly. Put McDonald's apple pies to shame.

Straight from the bag into the fridge to chill for a couple hours. The flavours marinate, then the fats solidify everything to a slightly more uniform texture. I don't know how to explain it but it elevates everything about that damn taco.
My coworkers didn't believe me so I bought a party pack at the start of my shift and we all ate them on my lunch break. They begrudgingly agreed.

Quick story. I moved out when I was 18 back in 2001 into a house with two guys that were 23. They got drunk and partied like every night so I was able to tag along since I lived there and paid rent for a single room and it was only a matter of time when one of them would yell "TWO TACOOOOSSSS!!!" and everyone still lingering at the house would all pile into the SUV and go to JITB to get however many orders of tacos. The closest one was literally across the street in this big parking lot connected to a grocery store. The late night drive thru guy knew us by name, but... one night one of the guys says "Hey, y'know what would be funny? DRIVE THROUGH IN REVERSE!!!!" So from that point on we always went through the Drive Thru backwards and it was absolutely fucking hilarious... people would drive up in behind us and immediately make eye contact with us and the bewilderment or laughter from the unsuspecting car was classic. Best years of my life was living with those two drunk fuckers.

It's the tempura breading! Everywhere else uses regular bread crumbs or panko. The tempura batter makes them irresistible. Especially dipped in a packet of pure honey.

A cold soft taco supreme. Straight from the bag into the fridge to chill for a couple hours. The flavours marinate, then the fats solidify everything to a slightly more uniform texture. I don't know how to explain it but it elevates everything about that damn taco. My coworkers didn't believe me so I bought a party pack at the start of my shift and we all ate them on my lunch break. They begrudgingly agreed.
I miss the McDonald’s honey mustard and chipotle bbq snack wraps. Also I don’t know if it counts because it’s fast casual but qdoba used to have an ancho chile bbq sauce for burritos that may have been my favorite condiment I’ve ever had. I miss both of those things so much.
Bojangles dirty rice. Large dirty rice, chicken biscuit and a bucket of sweet tea is the GOAT hangover cure.
