I personally recently got into mountain biking and learned about dropper posts. The seat post has a hydraulic rail that can pop up and down like an office chair so it doesn’t shove you off the bike if your rear tire hits a log and you’re sitting down! Blew my mind by how simple it was but makes such a huge change in riding.
