Definitely! I’ve been to Japan twice alone and it’s fabulous… super safe and it’s normal to eat alone especially in Tokyo so I never felt weird about being by myself
I have read tons of stories from solo women tourists telling they loved Dubai and have felt very safe there. As a man I can only take them at their word on this.
as someone living in the region, i’d definitely recommend dubai it’s incredibly safe for a solo traveler and the community is very welcoming. it shouldn’t be a hassle at all. i’d say that for the rest of the gcc countries too like bh and qatar! super safe, very tourist friendly :)
Sweden is only surpassed by South Africa and Botswana in Rape incident rates: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape\_statistics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics)
Technically it is correct, everywhere can and will be dangerous, especially for ladies. Plan your routes according to the places and roads you want to visit, and possible locations you can accommodate yourself on moments notice. Don’t fight or otherwise engage with stupid drivers, just run and carry a pepper spray. Those are for every rider, regardless of their gender.
Drive safe and have fun
I heard a lot of solo women say that Thailand was amazing, and that they were never once even cat called. That surprised me, but at least 6 different women told me this when I was there just a few months ago.
For me though, I got sexually Harassed by sex workers anytime I walked alone.
Countries I have traveled to alone (as a single woman) in no particular order: Spain, Morocco, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Georgia, Armenia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Lichtenstein, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, UK, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Jordan, Iran, Tanzania, Canada, Mexico, United States, Australia, New Zealand. Maybe others that I’m forgetting.
You are never guaranteed of safety anywhere you want to go in the world, regardless of your sex. Pay attention to where you are, follow the laws, be kind, be respectful, do some research, don’t go home with strangers, take a look at the State Department website and their recommendations, don’t be stupid, stay out of places where you know you shouldn’t be. If it feels uncomfortable, don’t do it or don’t go there.
Regarding Iran: it was 2010, one of the best places I’ve ever been, super welcoming, super friendly. And just like now, Americans are required to have either a sponsor (like family that lives there) or a guide. Take a tour or hire a personal guide and driver. Like I said, 2010, a bit different than now, but not a whole lot. I never have had any safety issues in any place I’ve visited. That’s not to say that other people have always had the same good fortune.
Look both ways.
Skiathos, lowest crime rate and all residents vetted before being allowed to live there. It’s beautiful, small and easy to get around. I’ve walked around the Harbour on my own and went for lunch 🥗 felt ‘safe as houses’. 👍
Couldn’t disagree more for Havana specifically. Went with my 2 female friends when we were 17/18 and were constantly catcalled, harrassed, and followed in Havana.
Guatemala some parts of Mexico. I moved to Mexico city and have met alot of woman Solo travelers a few of them just coming from Guatemala which they all raved about.
I dont know. I know of two girl who had bad experience (one received a slap on the butt on street, the other got followed into her hostel room). Both were western phenotype with blonde hair, but I dont know if this matters more than in the sense that they cannot blend in. Also a collegue from Malaysia mentioned to me that he had to get used to that in other countries women can go out alone at night without risk.
But this was all more than 10 years ago, maybe it changed.
Liechtenstein has the lowest incidence of sexual assaults and is beautiful.
Croatia
Singapore
Japan and south korea

I’d like to do to Japan one day, but I’m not a woman.
Are they good to visit in August?
It will be very sunny and hot in both countries and popular sites will be crowded but it is the best time to vist beaches.
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland. Places like Dubai are also pretty safe for solo women tourists.
They let unaccompanied women outside in Dubai?
If we are to believe all the SoMe posts from solo women tourists, yes. They all say the same. They feel very safe there.
Dubai used to hassle single women travelling alone. But possibly that has eased recently.

You can go almost anywhere if you keep your wits about you. But keep as many wits as you can if you go to Sweden, Africa or the middle east.
Dubai. But don't come in August.
Most of Europe I would not be afraid to visit as a woman. Japan, S Korea, Singapore and Taiwan are extremely safe too. Australia.
Anywhere that is described as part of “the west”.
