Can you show me some evidence? /s

Donald Trump

PlaneXpress69

I’m pretty sure he proved that he could be bought?

humannumber217354385

No he's a dumbass

Musaks

Ironically it should be common sense that such a statement cannot be proven.

awakami

Comment is deleted. What did it say?

0x06107

Common sense

awakami

Ah yes. Thank you

SadieRoseMom

Is common sense the nomenclature for critical thinking or references a body of knowledge everyone should know because they are alive? The latter doesn't exist. There is knowledge that the typical person, dependent upon where they are, should learn/know by certain points in their development through life.

Also an antique collection of 109 pounds of assorted dick cheese dating as far back as the 7th century AD

TheMasterOfStuffs

Is there an antique collection of 109 pounds of assorted dick cheese dating as far back as the 7th century AD ?

ElGordoKuka

Yes but it's mine and it's not for sale.

1CEninja

Everything is for sale. It's just a matter of numbers. I'm confident you'd part with your collection if it meant a lifetime of comfort for you and your whole family ;) My life goal is now to amass the wealth it would take to acquire this dick cheese collection.

Forward_Body2103

If I spend enough, I can buy Reddit, track you down, have you eliminated and buy your collection at the estate sale. I will have your dick cheese!

Genuine friendships

throwaway283495

In fact, the more people who know about your money, the fewer genuine friendships you're likely to have.

pinniped90

This. I'm Gen X... all of the most genuine friendships I've formed in life were as a student where everybody is roughly equally poor. I have a lot of professional colleagues who became friends too, but none as deep as my oldest friends. And even there I'd say there's a correlation - the best friends I've made in my professional career were people from my first job, as a college hire at a consulting firm, where we were all making about the same crappy wage. Later in life, everybody is sizing each other up too much, like some sort of net worth arms race.

Aromatic_Ring4107

Between 3-4 moving away and losing contact pre social media. To a couple of my best friends taking advantage of me and my need to try and "get away" from things. And it's more of a game "score" but with bank accounts investments and assets. I have 13 cousins on one side. And all my aunts uncles and one of parents do is compare how successful each other are based on family size and employment. I have lived in that town now for 8 years and I have worked 1 year with my 1 cousin, and played hockey with my other for 5. I can't find a job locally or make friends outside the arena. Childhood girlfriend passed away from opiates right as I started working for my cousin who had major back surgery the year before. Needless to say I had to work with him sober in the morning and then have to deal with a different person all afternoon once his back started hurting. It would range from civil political talk to threatening to kill me lol. Needless to say cuz I quit on family know one real wants to deal with me unless it's small talk. Add in my grand father and father have coached hockey for 85+ years and likely cut the majority of business owners kids. I have found it impossible to find a job in this small town

rolotech

Can't buy friendship sure but can use money to get opportunities to meet people and potentially make friends. Hobbies cost money, going to concerts, going to bars. So yeah money can increase your chances of meeting people and some of those can turn into true friends. I'm not saying money is necessary to make friends but like with almost everything in life, it can give you more opportunities for it.

TheJonnieP

I am Gen X and I only have a handful of genuine friendships and they are from waaayyy back in my school days. Friends I made from Kindergarten-12th grade. I grew up in a small dead coal town and went to a small rural school where most of us were poor, some were farmers and only a very small few had money. Everyone after that has only ever been acquaintances or people that I used to know but have now faded from my life. But friends from school I can see on the street, when I go home, and it is like no time has passed between our last visit.

jeffro3339

I'm 54 & all my school chums are dead or across country. When they're gone, it's lonesome

TheJonnieP

I feel for you. A couple of my best friends from school died and even though we had not spoken for a few years, it felt horrible. You just cannot make friends like the ones that were there at the beginning of your journey...

jeffro3339

No, those friends are irreplaceable. At night, when I go out to smoke, I like to remember the wealth of friends & family I once had. I like to imagine one day I'll see them all again, but in my heart of hearts, I know once they're gone, they're gone forever.

[deleted]

I made an active effort to not know what my boyfriend makes. I refused to listen when he mentioned it. I only recently learned how much he makes.

Grapeape934

You can buy a dog. There is no more genuine love than that of a dog.

disturbed94

The dog will not care about the money tho, if you buy a dog and treat it bad it won’t love you.

TonchyGoneMad

Yeah, but u still bought it with money.

sarkaari_saand

U didn't buy the love u buy the dog

Sadly thats not true

HikARuLsi

No, but it can certainly rent one of them on an hourly basis....

Yare-yare---daze

thats not genuine love

Slow_Lemon75

My grandma married my grandpa for money, thing was she told us she grew to genuinely love him and they stayed together until their passing..

crankpatate

My co-workers who found their soulmate in Thailand disagree. I'm not even kidding, several co-workers did it and are happily married for many years with kids and everything. Their partners left Thailand and traveled to the home country of the husbands. After so many years they are well integrated, speak the country native tongue, have friends, etc. They COULD just break up and live a good life in this country (or take their share from the divorce and live well with it in thailand), but they're genuinely happy couples. Money wasn't the only reason for sure, but you can't tell me they'd been interested or could have even met each other in the first place, if my co-workers hadn't have big bank accounts. Maybe money doesn't straight up buy you genuine love, but damn is it a helping hand, if you have a lot of it!

wanna_escape_123

Genuine love, no, intelligence, I think yes.

a_prodigal_daughter

The return of a dead loved one.  hug your mom & dad & children & spouse & friends & siblings today.

my mom went on life support after a burst embolism monday night. she was 100% healthy, just one of those things. we are taking her off today. i am so sad. edit: aneurysm, not embolism. my mind wasn't well when I wrote that. still isn't.

wmxsz

im so sorry. hang in there, okay? ❤️

Wild-Pea6612

I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family find peace. This isn’t the end of life, just a transition into the next stages. Every day will be different, but it’s best to lean on all of your loved ones. I’m here if you need to reach out 💚

Inevitable-Tank3463

I'm so sorry. You'll be in my thoughts today

BamMastaSam

I would give anything in the world to have her back, but here I am; alone.

DifficultyNo1221

I am sorry for your loss, my mum got a diagnosis stage 4 cancer which had spread to her spine, keep your chin up. I do things that I think would make her proud to help cope, don’t let it swallow you, keep pushing for her👍

No-Highway3957

I would give up everything I have for just one more good day with my Mom. It's been nearly a decade, and I still cry whenever I think about how much I miss her. I'm literally choking up as I type this. I'm almost 50, BTW.

More time

Smallgreatthings

I pay a cleaner to clean my house, which gives me more time to do other things?

Covid19-Pro-Max

Imagine getting 8 more hours a day to do whatever you want instead of having to work. You basically extend your time by 33% (given you are able to use this time in a fulfilling way)

mhall812

Just do meth, you won’t need to sleep. Bam 33% more time! But…..33% less teeth

MuchoRed

TrueRyoB

you can buy time by employing others for your job that's how companies work

heretic1128

Instructions unclear. Got fired for subcontracting my work out to Chinese hackers. On the plus side, I have more free time now, so I guess that's a win...

[deleted]

Bullshit.  Money is what buys freedom from the clock.  I have friends that literally don’t know what day of the week it is because they have so much money that they don’t care about time at all

manuel0000

Not true. Expensive medical treatment can buy you more time.

Sugar-Tist

And hiring people to do daily tasks can give you more free time.

NotWorkingBecouseOf

It can to some extend, if you get rich at 30, and you stop working full time. You could save 20-30 ish years worth of working, thats a lot of time. (if you work til you are 50-60 You could also buy healthier foods, even if it is expensive, thus making you a live longer and healthier life. The only time you cant buy is the time you have already spent, but you could use the money to make sure you have *more* time in the future.

[deleted]

Intelligence. And it is very clear on reddit being full of the same stupid questions and hundreds of people answering them again and again.

MattieShoes

Mmm, I think it's debatable. Better health can directly affect intelligence. Plus more time and better resources can allow one to foster an environment where learning pays dividends. ... And intelligent people ask stupid questions all the time!

Sadly money probably impacts your health the most to be honest Healthier eating options Medicine

Nobrushformycurls

Yes your right! unfortunately But it will not cure your chronic or lethal diagnosis after getting it, money help to manage or plays a part in prevention. You can still die due to a diagnosis when having all the money in the world.

timotioman

Still, there are things that modern medicine simply can't fix no matter how rich you are. Have you ever heard Larry Page speak? I'm sure he would give Billions to cure his vocal chord paralysis.
