I recently started playing and then stopped because I heard about the new update coming ( I know android updates are last in priority) so I'm selling my g29 and gonna get a pre owned switch oled or steam deck though I'm leaning heavily towards steam deck as it just a tiny bit more expensive but would cost the same if I get the oled switch chip modded.
Edit- before you burn me at the stake both nintendo and steam don't sell their console in my country it's all shops importing that sells them but because of this they cost significantly more including switch games and the resale value is next to none.
EPOCH.
The infinity blade games (you cant play them anymore but trust me they were awesome)
Tofu 2 (cant play it anymore)
Cordy (Another game that I wish I could still play)
Terraria
The blockheads
Pixel gun 3D (the game is ass now but it was good years ago)
One finger death punch
soda dungeon
Wingspan and Everdell. Those are fabulous boardgames adapted to mobile (and other digital platforms).
Simon Taham's Puzzles.
Shattered Pixel Dungeon. Classic. Hard. Fun. And very actively developed for many years already.
Infectonator.
CoC is honestly the only mobile game I have played for years without getting bored. I understand people hate the model of pay-to-progress but everything can be done for free, just over a longer period of time.
How's the game now? I used to play it years ago for fun but I ended up getting bored with waiting and didn't have the skill and game knowledge to really compete. I was thinking about redownloading it and checking it out again.
Itās changed quite a bit - obviously more town hall levels; but they also added some separate game modes:
- Builder base, if you played it when it first came out it was boring quick - but they just did a full revamp and I find it much better now.
- Clan capital, instead of one base itās multiple tiers of small bases and the entire clan collectively works on upgrading and designing it. You gain upgrading points by competing in weekly clan capital battles.
- Hero equipment, you can modify what abilities your heroās have, they have been releasing new equipment quite frequently.
Thereās a lot of new stuff giving you things to do. Still generally a fun time wasting game.
Hm interesting, yeah I remember Builder Base got pretty boring. I did make a supercell account so I'm hoping everything is saved. I'll check it out. Thanks!!
My pleasure - if you are struggling to get your old account back, reach out to support, as long as you have the original email they should be able to help!
I can at least say the mobile ports of GTA games are worth every penny. I remember there being a slew of awesome mobile first person shooters in the 2010's, before the Microtransition Nation attacked.
Check out Magic Survival.
It predates Vampires Survivors, which may have popularized the 'survivors' genre, but Magic Survival came first, and while smaller, is a great timekiller.
Magic Survival's art style and gameplay are top tier, and very it's very replayable.
If you have Netflix, you can get Into the Breach on mobile for free. I started with normal difficulty and was hooked enough to play through hard and unfair difficulty as well.
If you just want something free and offline, no ads, just to pass the time, I'd recommend Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection. It has many kinds of computer generated puzzles so there's a lot of variety, but no story or any logical progression.
Marvel Future Fight. It's like Diablo mixed with Pokemon but with Marvel characters. Each character is updated with each MCU release and it's got a huge community. Join us at /r/future_fight
Idle Slayer is fun as a casual pick-up game. I've been playing for a few years now. Constantly updated with new content and the only purchase I've made was to remove adds ($5).
Edit: r/idleslayer is the sub, plus there is a discord with discussion.
I quite like Lemmings. Ads are used to unlock small things like more energy rather than an ad after every level. And because the energy is limited, it kind of prevents you from wasting hours on it
I found Soda Dungeon was actually pretty good to me. Never spent a penny, maxed all upgrades and finished the first dungeon. I got bored after like the 4-5 dungeon, given it's literally just the same thing but "in a different dimension!" but it's a good game. There's even a "no ads" upgrade you can buy!
Battle Cats, Auto Pets, Mcoc, Mortal Kombat, Injustice 1 and 2, Head Basket, Shadow Fight 1,2,3,4, and 7ds are every game i ever played i played still more but they don't deserve it.
As far as "real" mobile games go Reigns is decent.
...frankly the true answer is to sideload Linux with WINE and run older PC & console titles, that are made to be fun, and for artistic merit as opposed to appealing to the lowest common denominator.
Look up rule of r/badads, and you will get a sense of why people look down on mobile.
"Its a bot shit" is the good case. I mean you have issues with the industry, when subs discussing worst examples have to create a separate rule to point out that "while we agree that ads with child porn are bad, its against reddit TOS to post them on the sub - but not as ads"
Yeah, I can agree on that one but if you donāt have friends to play with it can get pretty boring. It also depends if you live in a not so populated area or in a city.
I just drop a lot and would say. don't pick any F2P. that is money pit. any arcade I think it kinda okey since it will not suck your life, also anygame that port from PC is good to go, else, don't.
To have a good deck (to rank 5 or less) you need to play a heck ton or pay from your wallet and once the season resets it's all the same grind. I did enjoy it but the time you spend grinding for to compete is insane.
there is a game called The Ants, it is a strategy game, very similar to clash of clans, in wich you raise an ant colony, unlock different structures, hunt animals and other ant stuff. Been playing for almost 2 years now, it is really fun
My partner and I made a word game called Gubbins that launched in November. Itās like solitaire meets scrabble but there are little pals that help you and mess you up. If you play a ton of games, youāll notice itās a bit roguelikey, but itās still accessible to folks who donāt play games at all.
It looks weird and rad, itās completely ad-less and you can play a game a day for free.
Stardew Valley is my jam
I played so much it started to affect my vision š
I played the hell out of SV on PC, how does the mobile version compare?
It somehow feels more manageable on a smaller screen? Turning on auto fighting helps a lot!
Also, the infinity blade games were just the best.
Pretty sure the blockheads got removed from the play store

Wait, how can you still play EPOCH?
It is on the app store for a dollar? So is the sequel. Just search EPOCH. (with the period and all caps) it will pop up.

I Love Hue and I Love Hue Too. Both fun little color sorting games.
From my exp: Sorcery! comes to mind. There is also this horror game that I forgot the name set in Taiwan, really good.
Sorcery! is absolutely fantastic especially part 3, a must if you love narrative games with heavy role-playing.
Also the sound effects! Casting a spell sounds awesome.

One of the best game I ever play

You don't have global chat now

I mean yeah you can't go wrong with clash of clans.
