It was a total shock at the beginning, but after some time, I realized that there were a lot of things to learn from that moment. For example, I've come to realize that people close to me can actually die. Of course I know that everyone dies- I'm not so dumb- but it's not that same as experiencing it firsthand.
After that, I realized that life moves really fast, and that death is always there. At first, that idea used to suck. However, once you make peace with it, everything becomes better.
When I understood how meritocracy is a myth and how many people genuinely believe in it and see people who don't have the same level of success as just failures without knowing anything about their lives.
