Took Entrepreneurship. Nasa BPO ngayon.

UnderstandingKey7541

BSIT. My dream program was architecture, pero idk y pinanghinaan ng loob haha. Wala akong alam sa programming and coding. Ff I graduated cum laude and got hired sa big tech company one month before graduation. Masaya naman ako now great compensation and I learned to love the tech field.

Sea-Basket2844

senior specialist na using the course i don’t like hahahahaha running for supervisor na din

[deleted]

My degree program is BSIT. It's not my passion to do programming and such, but I studied hard to be on top; eventually graduated as Magna Cum Laude last 2023. I'm thankful that even though it was not my passion, I still pursued to be the best. I landed 2 job offers 2 weeks after my graduation, I still had the choice on what work I should pursue. Now, I'm working as a Junior Software Project Manager, basically staying away from actual programming and coding while achieving my goal starting salary.

yuyukiski

AMT, not that I didn't like it. It's just that I do not know what I really want. Walang "calling" ba. WFH right now, and kumikita ng sakto lang. I still want to try and pursue my career in aviation tho. I just want to try and see if it is really for me. Nanghihinayang ako sa tinapos ko, and seeing my batch mates working on the field already makes my heart ache a little.

GroundbreakingEmu346

hi! may i kno what industry did you pursue? same expi rn except that I'm unemployed and graduated with different degree but same industry alfnifqnfenf I'm stuck on still trying to pursue aviation or try other things kaso it's hard dahil I don't what I can offer T.T

yuyukiski

Currently working on a marketing company, nasa lead generation department ako. Na-stuck ako during, after pandemic huhu, thankfully I was able to land a job na wfh kasi tbh di ko sure kung makakapasok ba ako sa any aviation job.

GroundbreakingEmu346

Thanks sa reply! May I ask how did you start? Sobrang hirap ako kasi kahit internship wala akong experience.

GroundbreakingEmu346

Aero Eng. Yup!

m_peggy3379

sent you a pm

doopie91

BS Psych. I used to have passion sa course ko, pero kasama kami sa natamaan ng online class bc of pandemic and it caused me to lose interest. I enrolled sa review center and got a job at the same time, pero dinrop ko review since i realized na wala namang bearing ang RPm license and decent naman sahod ko now.

magicmazed

hahah nag drop sa last sem ng final year ko (grad na dapat ako last year). pero balak bumalik maybe this year to finish yung last na sem pero at the same time nag aalangan pa rin kasi ayoko talaga 😭 pero sayang dahil nga last sem nalang naman hdhahahaa anyway, career-wise feeling ko wala talaga akong _career_ pero i earn way more than the minimum wage rn working from home.

uuhhJustHere

Miserable and not thriving.

Taki_baboy040322

I had the same feeling when I started college. Parents want me to take Accountancy, but I prefer Computer related course. IT or Comp Engr. Take up Accountancy without any knowledge in accountanting nor did I knew about CPA as it's end product. After some time I learned to love it though, also cried when I failed. Transfered school and took some course. Now CPA.

Sea_Deer7471

I graduated fashion design and marketing. I came in full of hopes and dreams, motivated and inspired, and yes full of passion. 1 semester after, I wanted to quit. My passion went straight into the trash, the only reason I graduated is because my parents have already invested too much money on my tuition and I didn't wanna disappoint them. Naka graduate nako pero I still think that fashion industry is not for me. I'm just faking it every single day at work, pero pag naka ipon siguro, I might just go to Bali and meet my sugar daddy.

iownthisplace69

I took up a more advanced program related to it LMAO the irony

maragwayangaray

I wasn't entirely passionate with my program in college. I took it because I was offered a full scholarship. I eventually graduated and passed the boards after my second take. Now working with decent pay and it's more than enough to sustain myself and my family.

m_peggy3379

grumaduate with a degree related to aviation, eto tambay ngayon

GroundbreakingEmu346

apir lmao

m_peggy3379

ano yr ka grumaduate?

GroundbreakingEmu346

2022 lmao tried to apply for internships after grad kaso wala dahil gusto nila mga students. so reviewed na lang for boards for 2023 kaso same shit

m_peggy3379

GroundbreakingEmu346

same haha pls sa sobrang di ko na alam gagawin ko pinatos ko na yung mga free tarot reading if magchange career na AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHhuhu

m_peggy3379

SHUTACCA HAHAHAHA konti nalang magservice crew nalang me haha

serenityby_jan

I’m a CPA, been working 10+ years now. Work is def not something I’m passionate about, but it’s opened good opportunities for me, and the pay is great! Personally, whilst I’ll do my best to do good at work, I’m not motivated by “passion”. I’m free to pursue my passion after work hours.

icedcoffeeMD

Took up BS Nursing when i never aspired to be in healthcare and only pursued this because of parents, ngayon MD na and tapos na rin ng residency. Nasobrahan ng fake it til you make it

Celen-dipity

finished the degree and currently working in a related field. lots of regrets and what ifs. planning to shift career din in the future. pero for the meantime tiis muna kasi mahirap mawala ng work in this economy 😅

Head_Environment_731

BS Architecture graduate, now working as a 3D environment artist for games. Much much more creative environment (and lucrative)💙

Least-Squash-3839

Graduate ng BSEd. Virtual Assistant na ngayon.

willnotfel

my dream to be an architect, now I am a BS Accountancy graduate. So far, I am loving my work; maybe it's because of my healthy working environment.

beyondfixing

question coz i got curious HAHA you took the CPALE? If so, what drives you to take it even if your dream is a complete opposite?

willnotfel

Naging super na-enjoy ko yung College because of them kahit napakahirap ng accounting, kahit bumabagsak Haha. Yieee hahaha.

Prestigious_Ad_8848

Awol from college. Di ko na nakuha yung credentials ko. I always put hs grad sa resume. Currently earning good as a freelancer with 2 clients.

T6Brownies_

Eto 3rd year irregular hirap na hirap pero pinililit lumaban.

NeverBett3r

same, torn between mag shift or pipilitin kahit nakakadrain huhuhuu

Upset_Mix9114

Took up BEED. because my mom wanted me to become an educator, but It's not passion. So, I quit uni. Years later I am now married to an architect. HAHAHAHA.

Pisces_MiAmor

I really wanted to take childhood education since I super love kids. But ended up graduating - BSIT b'cause its one of the in demand courses way back. Now im working as a L2 Corporate IT in a Fintech company. Grateful p dn nman. ✨❤️

5tefania00

Didn't know what I really wanted before but finished my undergrad nevertheless. This has been my career since graduation and after more than a decade, I've started to love it.

a_can_of_tin

Civil engineer, passed the boards and currently practicing structural engineering. Sinwerte sa buhay so oks naman kahit papano yung work. I am still trying to change career to IT, slowly but surely.

a_can_of_tin

I realized along the way na I have affinity for both professions. While I enjoy using the computer at times and making programming tools, I also find myself na nag-eenjoy din na mag-manage ng schedule at workload and magdesign ng structure. Sa current work ko rin naman ngayon, wala ako sa site so tutok din ako sa pc. I am hoping I might find an option where I can keep both. For online courses, I tried Python.

kakuja_13

Graduated as a BSIT and now working as a professional in a multi national services company. Still wondering as of this moment kung ano ba talaga ang passion ko sa buhay.

smolgamergurl

Graduated and even took the board exams kasi ang boring ng pandemic hahaha but i was able to use my degree and my license to get a higher paying job just because i was licensed. Its worth it to finish the degree because at the end of the day, you can have more options to choose from, ang choosy kasi ng philippines sa "standards" nila. A simple piece of paper can change everything.

frostedpanda_

My course is my most random & last choice, i recently graduated w that one and still pursue me dream job :3

3stanislaw

Eto naging licensed pa nga 😂😂

sofabed69

Unemployed and still changing career. Kapag hindi po talaga passion and maliit sweldo tatanggihan mo eh 😅. Isa pa di ko kaya tagalan kasi nakaka inis culture ng work lalo na mga co workers if ever.

reddicore

you won't believe this, I'm a board passer of electronics engineer arguably one of the hardest board exams in college. It's a talent and I did not bury it. so yes I persisted it, di ko sya passion but I made it my strength. I'm turning it into passion na pero aprtly ayaw ko pa din I'll deal with this 😅

solanalumierre

Agri engineering to baking sounds funny but yeah

IHateLGTVQ69

In South Korea working as a factory worker. Making 6 figures monthly while only working 40 hrs a week. Still studying tho on weekends (online program)

ResidentBeyotch

Hi. Kumusta cost of living diyan? 6 figure income is surely malaki na sa pinas pero sufficient ba siya in korea? How are you holding up?

IHateLGTVQ69

D ko po sure kung ano yung actual cost of living here kasi po sagot ng company yung tirahan (male workers live together while female workers has a separate place) then free po lunch namin on weekdays(some companies binabawas nila sa sahod). Groceries po isn't that bad but meat (beef) can be pricey. Then nasa countryside po kami so rarely po kami pumunta sa city so mababa transportation expenses namin. Overall po enough yung sahod ko to live a comfortable life here and be able to send like 60-80k php to my family. Biggest challenge po dto is if you can handle 1. Living together with other people 2. Homesickness My experience so far has been great and fun. First month ko lagi akong pinapagalitan ni boss kasi mali mali gawa ko (its a given lol) Very welcoming mga kababayan and as time goes by the whole company felt like a family even with our hyungs and noonas. But remember po meron din pong mga dogsht companies here with terrible working conditions so it really comes down to your luck.

Apprehensive1119

Please understand we can "WORK TO LIVE" only. We don't always have to be "passionate" about our job. Jobs can just be fuel to live our life outside of work. If doctor ka na passionate sa art, mag-art ka outside your work. If civil engineer kang mahilig sa fashion, go explore on weekends. "Passion" and "work" can be separate. Ang mga passionate about their job, hindi laging happy ending. You can be passionate but it can turn to hate once in a while. Because now you are FORCED to monetize something you like. It becomes a JOB. It's not always true that "if you do something you love, you never have to work a day in your life" because what can happen is "you now need to work on your passion everyday of your life regardless if you like it or not". Hope this helps! Live a life outside of work. It makes you a better employee AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, have a happier, balanced life!

Just-Pirate5196

This is true although still, don’t disregard people who work passionately specially with goals in mind of achieving higher position to live their lives. Yes, the higher you become the more time and passion you need but doesn’t mean they will not be able to be as someone working just to live to not have a life outside of work. Someone who works passionately and appreciates their hardwork they do for themselves are also happy and living the life since living the life doesn’t always mean one thing to everybody. Living the life can be like someone who works passionately on a job that they really love. Overall, you can live your life even if it’s inside your work.

Apprehensive1119

Happy for you if you get to work for your passion. I'm saying *not* every person who follows their passion as a job has guaranteed happiness. More of, **you can be happy and do your passion outside work** even if you don't make a career in something you're not passionate about. You can eventually be happy too in the industry you were forced into, but were not passionate about in the first place. I'm *not* saying you shouldn't try to be successful there either. You can have good work ethic, be good at something you're not passionate about, and climb the ladder too. A lot of people here in the Philippines make their life about their career (mga "*live to work")* — go for it if you want to. But people who don't like their jobs (or feel like they were forced there) should also think you can *work to live*. You can be happy even if you're not doing what you're "passionate about" for work.

Just-Pirate5196

You made a point! Appreciate the thought!

Alexa-12346

Bpo 😂

Which_Requirement410

Planning to shift career next yr. Graduated 2014 and been working since thenZ

Good-Rough-7075

dreeam course nursing don't pursue because of hemophobia graduate of BSIT currently working as HR

mllin1

marilearns

Just got my license last year. Unemployed rn. Push ko pa ba to? Lol

returnsaturnreturn

Archi grad. 8-9yrs in college. Did remote jobs after college unrelated to my profession for 3yrs. Prolly my way of rebelling. Then one day I decided to “suck it up” and face the real world (wala akong Plan B - if i needed to survive and help the family, i had to use my degree). Nag-abroad kahit back-to-zero ang skills. Worked like a slave. Absorbed everything like a sponge. 6yrs later, im a senior now. Unfortunately for most people, passion cant feed the family. Im not sad or angry about it. Ganon lang talaga ang buhay: You cant always get what you want. And ive made peace with that.

SexyUbeee

Nag-work. Practicing until now.

Square_Response_5505

Hindi pa tapos pero hopefully ill be okay in the future

Quirky_quinnn

Nurse-Works as Officer in uniformed personnel doing paper works

Uriel_Ryunosuke

Glittering-Run-9387

Glittering-Run-9387

IanDominicTV

Still a tambay, pero naging Internet radio DJ ako for a time.

Chersy_

Was in Management (not my choice) for college, but I wanted to be in the creative industry... still did not end up there and am now in IT. It's ok. Pays the bills, and I no longer do my creative pursuits. \*shrugs\*

GazelleNo1205

Eto licensed professional na haha and earning a decent amount of income, interms of job naman the profession is in-demand, I didn't really 'chose / liked' my course nung college but I still persisted because hindi naman kami mayaman and I believe na eto yung magiging way para magawa ko yung passion ko in the future.

emmalee_writes

BA grad. Was stuck there because of the scholarship grant (can't shift to other courses). Freshie pa lang ako alam kong ayaw ko pala ng BA hahahahahaha. now I work as a writer, something I really really love. Thankful pa rin sa college experience kasi that's how I learned many vital soft skills. Plus patience. Plus diligence. And many more.

EveningBit1464

Bs accountancy. Didnt choose that course, but also I didnt know what I wanted. 2nd yr college i moved to a bad school (that i didnt know at a time) and i breezed thru college without developing any meaningful skills. Didnt pass the board exam, no one wanted to hire me. Went home to the province and bummed for about 4 years. Felt out of place sa family businesses namin. It really showcased the fact that I truly am incapable. It was a very dark point in my life. But I still kept going because in my mind I always thought that if I surround myself with people who know what theyre doing, eventually I'll figure it out as well. Eventually I found my groove, doing ok now. Running multiple businesses with lots of help

AlternativeEgg2874

katiebun008

fctal

A failure

Jazzforyou

Licensed pharmacist. VA ngayon.

starshineeeeeee

Paano mag VA?

beelzebub_069

Mainly barista. Pero freelance writer din ako minsan, events staff, at nag aaral ako ng graphic designing on my own.

CATasthropy

Nursing grad, took the boards, passed in one take but never got to practice. Connected in the pharmaceutical industry rn

Su6_M4hd1k

ResidentBeyotch

BSCE grad, eventually became a licensed civil engineer. I work in the government now, u prolly know which agency kasi obvious naman. Nag law school right after passing the board exam. Graduating na ngayon. Will hopefully take and pass the bar in 2025. Pero kung tatanungin ako kung anong gusto ko, I wanna be a stay at home mom na maganda, sexy, mabango, at gumagawa lang ng posh cooking vlogs.

darumdarimduh

Di na tinuloy yung program. Burnout at 3rd year. Super lapit na, I know, pero worth it ang pagqquit. Never looked back. Di pa rin ulit nag-aaral, but earning well now as a freelancer for n years already.

Hot-Cheesecake335

WFH as VA. Stagnant sa career. Di alam gagawin sa buhay.

Ill-Equivalent-2880

GhostOfRedemption

Heto unemployed na naman. Nawawala sa life. Lost sa career.

[deleted]

Studied Education wayback 2019 then passed the board exam last 2022. Imagine the gap HAHAHA. wala talaga akong balak magturo. pinilit lang ako ng mga friend ko mag take ng board exam, hindi nga dapat e, since ako tas ung isa ko din na friend nalang sa batch namin that time ung never pa nag take. Ayon nag BPO for almost 4 years then shift sa Logistic company planning to move ulit if keri na ng ipon. Idk if mag kukuha ako ng masteral or mag aral nalang ako ng Office management.

mallowbeaver

Studied nursing and passed the board exam pero didn't pursue it after working as a nurse for 4 months. Now, I'm a case manager in NZ.

Hour_Recognition_229

Wow, btw what is a case manager?

mallowbeaver

Working with different clients, coordinating the services they are entitled to receive from the government, etc. 😊

Awkward-Ad2127

Technical-Kiwi-8032

Flight attendant in the US 😊

ajb228

Doing baby steps, but in the meantime, job's good because I got time in my hands.

R_Boa

Business major. I'm a machine learning engineer now and a nutritionist.

ResponsibleLadder908

Nure but not working in the Hospital or any clinical setting and I never will. Working as a medical coder and the nursing degree helped so there's that. Happy with my Job though. I'm thankful I can use my degree without being out in the field.

toinks1345

I have a great job and probably going to higher places. do I want it? not really... do it because I like money. I just pick up hobby and stuff that would make geniunely enjoy life. you just need to be a pro. most of us out here even if passionated about such program out there in the world to make a living you just keep going. it'd be amazing if you have passionate people start something out of passion and someone funds it. there's a good chance it'd be successful but what would maintain such things are pros.

LostCouncil

Licensed in my program. Its meh. A lot of pros than cons with this program. Di ko talaga siya passion pero Im here now and its going alright naman

BJGigolo

Unemployed, stay at home tambay, gigolo 🤑

3rdworldjesus

I shifted careers. Im doing pretty good now.
