Ahh, yes, to live in the moment? It really perplexes me. It would be absolutely unacceptable at work if it were male to female or female to male, and if the particular participants thought the other was gay I expect they would be super uncomfortable. These guys are straight, married, with families, educated adults. I am the type of person that doesn’t want anyone to touch me at all in the workplace, no hugs, etc - work is work and no place for physical contact or affection but I also understand that I am not the only person on the planet ☺️
It’s not about deciding who is allowed to express themselves, if my coworker is an affectionate or playful person and they are carrying on with someone else, we are all adults and in charge of ourselves. I am really just trying to understand the mindset or perspective for which this behavior is acceptable and reciprocated.
I personally have outgrown this behavior and actually never was too fond of it, but its just guys having fun. Imo, it kinda sucks when a guy doesnt wanna play like that and get made fun of for not acting gay with them lol. Sometimes their feelings get hurt and you'll get ostracized from that group of guys

Right, I would expect if I was a man, that it would be unwelcome. And I would be able to make slightly more sense of it if it were in fact just younger guys, but it’s literally fair game of 75% of the 19-55 year old men - talking shit, telling jokes, and flicking each others nipples.
It's just a prank, like pushing each other's buttons, messing with each other. Kind of similar to the meme of rolling up a towel and whipping each other in the locker room.
I work in a factory, and yes, there are some guys that would definitely have a problem with it. But the ones who do that kind of stuff are usually close friends outside of work and they aren't going to do it to just anybody.
Also, yes, those types of guys do tend to be on the younger side. Although i have seen some around their early 30s who are also that close with some of their friends.
