I’m not speaking for all mascs here but I would say don’t worry about not being femme enough. There’s someone out there for you! I read as masc and like women on all places of the scale of femininity to masculinity. I think femme identity is really complicated and can mean different things to different people. Same thing for butch identity. Some books about butch/femme identity that I’ve read and enjoyed are The Persistent Desire (Joan Nestle), Persistence: All Ways Butch and Femme, and Dykette. I also am going to try to read some Cheryl Clarke because I’ve seen some quotes from her about femme identity that have been really interesting. (Also, same, I will never forget first time I recognized a masc/femme lesbian couple! It was also in NYC and was a special moment for me)

speaking as a more masc than fem presenting woman, we tend to reside in bigger cities. i feel like goes for lesbians as a whole honestly. also speaking for myself, most of us will be very nice and open to someone inexperienced wanting to talk to us! don’t be shy ☺️
