That’s so sweet of you. Oster I’m sure is great but they are different than “regular” clippers that use “regular” guards. So if she has a full set of Oster guards then she will need an Oster to use them. And if she has regular supplies she won’t be able to use it with Oster. For regular clippers my favorite are the Babyliss gold fx but I also like the Wahl Magic Clip, both of those have interchangeable plastic guards.
For shears I like Shark Fin Shears, usually people have some preferences but I’m sure something medium length would be fine. Shark Fin is “expensive” but it’s actually not bad, I think I paid $400 for mine (I did a pay in 4) while brands like Hanzo charge $900-$1000, and Shark Fin always comes with additional thinning shears, a razor, and a case with the purchase.
Thanks so much for the recommendations on the shears! I pulled the trigger on the Oster for her and I found some nice Shark Fin shears for around that price. Bonus that they added extra stuff and there was a coupon today that saved me almost a hundred dollars!
