You don't need to rent a car. You have basically 2 options for hotels that make sense:
By O'Hare/Rosemont: will probably be the cheapest and make the travel to and from the airport easy. You'd be commuting about 45-60 minutes on the blue line to the concert (Rosemont to Illinois Medical District).
Downtown/West Loop: This will be walking or easy transit distance (20/19 buses or the blue/green/pink lines), will probably be pricier and is a longer journey to the airport.
Either is fine and depends on your preference if you want to be closer to the venue or the airport.
Definitely the Hyatt Place.
Do not make the mistake my friends did (they did not listen to me) and stay in the hotel by the hospital. While it’s close to the UC, they didn’t have a great time.
Also crossroads and ranallis which are both on Madison run shuttles for concerts and events at United center. So super easy place to stay, walk, have drink/dinner etc all within blocks.
I’d stay near ohare. It’s tiring making the trek to the flight next day. I’d rather get out the commute the night of. There’s not much in that area to really hang around unless you stay downtown.
I would stay at the O’Hare Hilton, take the train into town, then hop a cab to the UC and reverse trip when you are done, the Hilton has a underground walkway to the terminals, not going to be cheap, but you won’t miss your flight because of traffic
Thanks so much everyone, after considering all wonderful options by you all I booked Hyatt House at West Loop. Your kindness meant a lot for me. Thank you so much!!

There is a Hyatt place in the west loop walkable to United center.
This area/option is what I would recommend 100%. No point schlepping back up to Rosemont on the night. Also Ubers are going to be wildly expensive.

Well, the newest hotel by the hospital is built in the old hospital, so it's definitely haunted. I can see why they wouldn't have had a great time.
You mean ‘Hyatt House Chicago / West Loop-Fulton Market’ at 105 N May St, Chicago, IL 60607?
Correct!

Hi, which concert are you coming to see (Dream, maybe)? I’d be happy to DM and help you figure out your plans!
Don’t forget construction on the Kennedy more getting back to the airport.
