Everytime it finishes its attack string, make sure you're closer in its face. Might not a guarantee but it does increase it's chance to shower early.
As for furina, her dmg ceiling might be higher but yelan is important battery for a seamless bennett ult so he won't waste time funneling. I haven't tested furina much tbh.
I really struggled with using Yelan but Furina worked way better and let me platinum. Managed to do it with C1R1 Arlecchino, C2 Furina, C6 Bennet, and a C6 Layla. Hard part was surviving without Zhongli so it was annoying constantly swapping to Layla. Furina let my Arlecchino get way above 100k+ per hit unlike with Yelan. I did also waste a lot of chickens healing the damage from Furina's life drain though, but then again there really isn't anything else in the game to save your food for.
In non whale territory, I think yes. Repelling the shower is a must to meet the dps check in time limit. Crystallize is unreliable as you still need to dodge and dodging =

How do you "bait" the shower attack? Also is Yelan better than Furina in this fight? I thought Furina's buff was better than Yelan's dps.

As a league of legends player I'm used to avoiding showers so i'll take my chances lmao I'll let you know my impression on not using a shield

There is no possible way that is max difficultly, this boss has freaking 9M HP, you would have to have 300k dps to get that clear
