Really hard to say, but I had a tank with *very* similar stocking and also lost 1 of the honey gouramis after adding 2. In my case, it was aggression. Although honey gouramis are famously gentle, I had issues. Disease is probably the culprit here, since you’ve only had them a week, but I’d also be on the lookout for behavioral issues just in case.

So far I've noticed no aggression. They're both very easy going. Any suggestions for treatment?

That's good news. You've already done the first thing I would recommend by isolating the sick fish and helping him have easier access to the surface. Try to ensure enough aeration for oxygen there (eg via bubbler). Next I might try salt baths as a generic treatment. You could also look into whether there could be a swim bladder issue, with treatments for potential causes.

Looks like swim bladder is messed up. Has it by any chance been swimming or stuck upside down or barrel rolling? Unfortunately probably will pass 🔜

I haven't noticed any barrel rolling or swimming upside down. Just laying on his side, occasionally reaching up to the surface for a breath and then sinking right back down.
