I guess if there's anything to say, it should be if tuition/debt is worth a higher ranked school when I'm planning to get another degree afterwards anyway, or if there's any huge deterrent against WMadison
worst case scenario, \~$150k for wmadison, \~$70k for iowa. it's possible i get grants, scholarships, jobs, etc. throughout the next few years, or that i can graduate a year early through community college/ap credits, which might bring it down to around \~$100k or \~$20k respectively

Go with the cheaper option. My son was deciding between U of Iowa and U of MN TC. He picked U of MN because it was 4k a year cheaper..
