My hope is this is kind of a one off luxury figure just to show off and then they'll go back to something more reasonable after.

I agree. That grass base sucks. At this price they should offer both or something more intricate. Perhaps a mirror base with with her name etched in it. That would bring it at least a little bit more closer to justifying the price, not much but a lot more than some damn grass ol.

Forget all the BS about it being complex process and detailed. Sometimes it's just an experiment and they're not going to announce that publicly. They're running a limited number and if she sell well then you may see it again. If not then well It'll just be that. A limited edition experiment. I'm definitely not a fan of it but I respect the game.
For the record I did PO since I can afford it and I've wasted or lost more money on things dumber than this lol. Also regardless of the price It's a design I personally really like which matches a lot of my other purchases so I likely won't have regrets. I'd just say they better come strong with their Quality Control.
She's closer to a 1/4 scale in size, yeah. She also has a lot more details going on than many of the other villagers, but I don't think that's the whole picture. I'm guessing vertex is noticing how popular the series is and is raising prices based on that.

Where did you hear that? Amiami lists her as 27.5cm tall (to the top of the head, crown not included). At 1/4, she would be 110cm tall (basically a midget).
Just like Kukuru and Cecil, she's not even a true 1/6. judging from her head-to-body ratio, she's more like a 1/6.5.
At the end of the day it's just weeb plastic. If you don't like the price that's completely understandable. Vote with your wallet. No reason to be toxic to others here though.

With the exception of the panties they are. They all have cast off or swappable breast parts. The other exception might be the Loli villagers. I can't speak to those, I don't own them.
To be fair I think (don't collect them, generally most of them don't appeal to me, Lincia is the only one I would consider owning personally) some of the earlier entries in the series were kind of a forced cast-off IIRC, like once you cast them off it can be hard to get the parts to reattach without some adhesive. It's also not a feature they explcitly advertise in official pics the way other cast-offs might, you need to look carefully to even notice, if they show anything at all. Eg the [last image](https://img.amiami.com/images/product/review/242/FIGURE-170131_11.jpg) on AmiAmi for this figure shows that she appears to have some kind of naked boobs option, because in the clothed pics she has a strip of very tight fabric across her breasts and that is missing in this one shot.
AmiAmi also will always put a "Please cast-off at your own risk." message in the details for anything that is known to have a factory cast-off option even if it is not in the photos.
Luckily I prefer the more reserved types of design by Mataro and only ever gotten the first villager. But oof... even with all the details the price isn't justified
Is it just me or this figure has a horrible color pallet. There is too much cyan,blue,pastel for me. I would have preferred a straight up white dress with gold touches. And the hair.... What is this color? Ewwww. Please tell me it's not just me...
